Service was absolutely horrible. I came in and wanted to sit with friends. I asked for a chair from the EMPTY side of the restaurant and was was told no. I asked for a chair from the back and was told they were all broken. I was told they cant move a chair because they were open until 9pm and this was at 745pm. I guess this small restaurant can afford to turn away a paying customer that always tips very well. I'll never set foot in this place again. Very disappointed in the customer service! Customers should always be accommodated but, apparently a chair was told much to ask for. read more

Went to Upper Sandusky for the Christmas Lights. Thought we'd get something to eat. Made reservations for this place. Nice atmosphere. Everyone was very nice and they took good care of us. They dinner bread was Awesome! Hubby got the pizza which looked yummy. I got the Stromboli which was delicious the sauce was sweet and good. Daughter got the Chicken Alfredo and said it was good. Food is good but omg it takes forever to get it. Also for the price you don't get clearly enough. Waitresses are so slow! We order it took 20 mins to get are side salads then another 22 mins to get are baby portions!! Even trying to pay are expensive bill it is sooooo long !! Ok. I like pizza, and here is the problem. I LOVE pizza from Don Tomasso's. This is seriously former Pizza and it shows. The crust is fluffy, delicious and will leave you craving more. While you are ordering, go ahead and get the breadsticks - you're welcome... I've consumed a lot of pizza (ask my waistline) and this is one of the best in the area. If you take some time to talk with the owner (and read the articles on the wall) you will see he clearly takes pride in the product. I would absolutely give this a try next time you are in need of dinner. Just be prepared to have a new favorite joint, as it is that go Updated: 1.19.2020 Stopped in today to try the Sunday buffet. It's a winner folks - lots of wonderful things go try. The inside is decorated to a throwback in time, and I found it relaxing. Salad, pizza, Stromboli, chicken parmesan, and much more is available. I felt the food was good but a little overpriced service was great but it seemed to take an extra long time

Good Italian dishes and good atmosphere. Home town but metro and hip:) service is good as well! The specials that Chef offers are so different and it's always something new! One thing I would suggest is to maybe use various nights fir jazz music and coffee house sounds... Others can be party nights.., etc. The portions, and presentations are good, don't be afraid to offer more in the plated dinners. It will keep people coming back. Bless you! Wonderful Surprise to find such a Terrific place. Worth the drive from Findlay. Friendly staff, Great Food, Good Value. Have been here twice the past 2-mos. both meals were exceptional. I was recently in Upper Sandusky for 4 weeks and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of restaurants there for a small town. Don Tomasso's heads the list. This is a great restaurant! It serves freshly prepared Italian fare. I and my business associates went to Don Tomasso's at least twice a week for lunch. We experienced Mama's Chicken (their version of chicken parm), the strombolis, calzones, chicken/bacon club and the pizza. There isn't a bad dish on the menu! Mama's Chicken is so good that at least one of us ordered it every time. The pizza is so good that I consider it the best pizza I've had since Giordano's in Chicago, but it isn't thick crust. It's not thin, either, just a nice medium thickness, but it is great. In fact, I suggested that they start making bread sticks out of the pizza crust, it is so good. The dough, btw, is made there onsite. The service is personal and friendly. You become known in a just a couple of visits. Even the chef/owner, Tom, comes out to talk to guests. I highly recommend this place. In my opinion, it's the best restaurant in town. read more

Made a reservation for two ahead of time. When we arrived we were seated right away. Fresh bread was provided. Thai Calamari was a good start. We had the Spaghetti and Meatballs and the Chicken Fettuccine with Alfredo sauce. Excellent. Dessert was cannolis and tiramisu. Just had dinner at the new downtown location -- what a wonderful experience! The decor is lovely and we were served promptly. For starters, I had a cup of tomato soup and my husband had a salad with the applewood vinegrette. Both were terrific and just the right size to leave us wanting a little more. For our entrees, I had the salmon and my husband had "Mama's chicken." In addition to a choice of soup or salad, entrees come with bread sticks, amazing roasted potatoes (they were seriously the best I've ever had), and the vegetable of the day. Today, the vegetable was zucchini. Everything was absolutely perfect. I fought the urge to sop up the extra chili glaze from my salmon with a bread stick -- but finally gave in. Upper has needed a nice Italian place for a while. This is a terrific addition to the town and I look forward to coming again! read more

Wonderful restaurant. We stopped here on the way to the Christmas lights. I was told that typically you need a reservation on a Saturday night but we got right in. The waitress was wonderful. Gave us a couple of suggestions. The wine was great. We ordered pizza and our daughter ordered spaghetti. The portions were large. The food was great. It was delicious. I recommend this place highly. First I got the bread sticks. They were cooked to perfection and the thickest I've had, with great flavor. The garlic butter dipping sauce was great. The pizza was excellent as well. Great tasting crust and toppings, and just the right amount of sauce, for someone who hates too much sauce. read more

Service was extremely slow. Food was bland. The Alfredo tasted like glue and was very pastey. I've had these problems the last 2 times I have been there. I gave them 1 more try...won't be going back. It's sad, bc Upper really doesn't have any good restaurants. read more

This is the best restaurant, hands down, in the area. The pizza might be some of the best I've ever had. The ingredients are fresh, and the dough for the pizza and Stromboli's is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Breadsticks, the same. The new location is stretching the waitstaff a bit, so don't be in a hurry. Sit down, and plan on having some time to savor your meal. There is a little local flair to the menu with the names of the food, so be prepared to google some of the names if you aren't there with a local. read more

Hands down the best food and pizza in town. The atmosphere is hip and trendy and it's a great place to go for date night if you date night- especially if you don't feel like driving to a bigger city. If it wasn't for the fact that they are open and delivering amid COVID-19 I would wish to give zero stars. My order was so messed up. The girl who took it knew nothing about the menu. FYI- the portobello sticks are NOT homemade as she said and they are terrible. They were supposed to come with their house red sauce, I got ranch which I can't stand. The main dish I ordered was supposed to be a pasta with shrimp, prosciutto and sun dried tomatoes in a garlic wine sauce. The "sauce" had zero flavor(I think it was just pasta water), there were no sundried tomatoes, instead it was "fresh" chopped tomatoes which were spoiled. The shrimp was fishy. It didn't matter that the portion was absurdly small since it was inedible. I did not get any of the dressings I ordered and my salad order was wrong. I called them to at least get some salad dressing and marinara so I could fill up on the half raw breadsticks. They brought them to me with an additional salad(still not what I ordered) and still no vinaigrette for my salad(although it wasn't the salad I wanted it looked pretty good). The marinara sauce they brought for my breadsticks was ice cold. It cost me over $40 and I ended up throwing the whole mess away and getting a meatball sub from subway. PS...even my dog would not eat the shrimp, which he normally loves. Oh...their home made croutons were really good, but I just ate them by themselves since I had no vinaigrette for the salad. I'm hoping they were just having a really bad night. If I'm back this way I would give it one more shot because they looked so promising and I actually do appreciate that they are delivering to us truckers at this time. We have been to this restaurant twice and both times we have experienced very slow service. Recently, we had reservations with another couple and, after being seated, it took more than 20 minutes for a waiter to take our drink order. We waited along time for our food to arrive and refills on the drinks were nearly impossible to have serviced. My friend and I each ordered a personal specialty pizza and when they arrived, the waiter had trouble giving us the pizzas because he wasn't sure which pizza belonged to me and which belonged to my friend. My wife ordered fries with no salt and they arrived covered in salt. Since the waiter returned very infrequently, I had to go and knock on the kitchen door with her food in hand to fix the problem. This restaurant has potential but it is either understaffed or has low expectations when it comes to the employee training program. Hopefully, the issues may be resolved by management, but in the meantime, we will find another Italian restaurant with better service. read more

Don Tomasso's - The meatball sub-- all fresh, house made, including the mozzarella - Pizza Near Me - Upper Sandusky, Ohio

Very good pizza. Described as "New York Style" but I would not personally call it that. While it was very good, the crust was a bit too thick for my definition of New York Style pizza. The pepperoni had a bit of spiciness to it, and a mild pepperoni could be requested. The CBR (chicken/bacon/ranch) stromboli was very good and the ranch that was served with it was absolutely fantastic. The "cheese bread" listed as an appetizer is your standard smaller pizza crust with garlic butter/mozzarella. It was described on the menu as "double garlic" but I am a garlic fiend so it had about 1/2 the amount I would prefer. If I go back I'll ask for more garlic on it. No fountain drinks, pop is a little on the pricey side in my opinion at $1 per can. Very limited seating, maybe three/four booths, that's it. The wait staff/cashier/server situation seemed a little unclear when we arrived and if I'm being honest the individual working the register seemed a little uninterested in being helpful that particular night. This place was recommended by a local and it was a very good recommendation. Overall, it is a 4 for me. Fountain drinks would be helpful, so would paying AFTER you eat you meal if you dine in so if you want a "refill" (another can of pop) you don't have to run a credit card for a buck. The disinterested wait staff didn't really help the situation. Seemed to be pretty popular for the locals as there was definitely alot of carryout business going on while we were there. read more
