This place used to have an epic cocktail menu with so many awesome choices then they completely screwed it up by limiting their speciality cocktails to like 8 of them! I went here day one and it used to be spectacular and now the cocktail menu is meh at best! Tip: open your menu back up...this limited thing is poor form. read more

Went tonight at around 7pm waited about 20 mins to get seated, by a friendly hostess. Once inside we were completely ignored and watched two servers and the bartender just chit chatting and leaning against the bar, not once did they come over to assist, bring waters, or take orders. Got up and left after another 20 mins. More than half the roof and inside seating were empty. I understand if short staffed but if we're watching the minimal staff as it is just standing around and talking then what's the excuse at that point. Looked forward to coming here since this was our first time and to be honest I'm not impressed with the service in the least part and who knows if we'll be back. If you want good cocktails and great service try Little Rituals or the newly opened Rose Garden in downtown both have amazing aesthetic and customer service. read more

Come here a few times a year and the service has gotten worse and worse and more inconsistent every time I've been back... came here on a Saturday night and there were maybe 6 other patrons in the bar, so a relatively quiet night. I walked in, sat down with my group of 5 in a booth. I waited about 10 minutes and nobody came to take my order so I walked up and ordered at the bar. Not a big deal, but a bit annoying considering the servers usually come to your table to take orders. Be clear on consistency on how you want to get drinks handled... waitress came up to our table later and my friend ordered another drink. It was never delivered, it was kind of funny because my group were joking that the drink would never arrive right after he ordered it lol. And of course it was never made. When we were closing out, we mentioned the drink never arrived and waitress made a remake with the slightest bit of attitude that we should have come up to remind them about the order... what? How do you mess this up on a slow night? Menu has changed quite a bit over the past year or so and not necessarily for the better. Waitstaff appeared very relaxed and taking their time with service although behind the bar was busy processing orders. Food presentation did not include utensils nor napkins, which arrived ten minutes after requested. Drinks are interesting recipes similar to what you might find at other eclectic places. Eh. Not sure if we just got a bad seat and caught this place on a bad night but it was a big let down. I love Lylo so I had high hopes for this place. Our table was dark and dingy and not in a cool way, in a stale way. Ambiance was a zero where we sat, no decor, plants, views, colors lolz just a brown wall. Two people ordered beer (boring I know hah) one server brought out one of the canned beers, opened and poured it in a cold glass and then handed it to my friend. A few minutes later a different server brought out the other beer and just plopped the unopened can in the glass and handed it to my other friend, didn't say anything or even make eye contact! Came to this bar a couple of times and it's usually ok, very disappointed the customer service is awful! Stayed for an hour or so each drink took about 20 mins to make when it wasn't that busy and there were 3 "children" just standing there on their phones not checking up on us or anything. Had to call a different server to take out order because ours was just standing there on her phone texting and didn't even bother to check on us and we were waiting for the server to come around never did had to get up and ask to close the bill. I have given a couple tries just to see if it gets better but it doesn't. I stayed at the Rise Uptown boutique hotel that is below the Don Woods' Say When rooftop bar so it was very very convenient. My friend and I had 2 off menu margaritas. I had passion fruit and my friend had watermelon. Both were great! We're so grateful to the server for letting us know the off menu items because we weren't big fans of the drinks on the menu. We saw the reviews on the small plates so we knew there wasn't going to be too much variety for food but a wider variety of late night snacks would have been great. The view is phenomenal so I wish we could have been up there for sunset on our last night. The decor is also super modern and fun. I will definitely be going back. read more

We had been to this bar once before and had a good experience. Last night was not good at all. We arrived at the bar, where there was completely open seating at the bar and most tables. We ordered our drinks and after 30 minutes of waiting decided to leave. I looked at the bar to see if anyone was working on our order and there were no glasses queued up and the bartender was standing there doing nothing. In the meantime, the bar had filled up and everyone had a drink in front of them. Was this a case of ageism (we were older than most) or just pathetic service? This bar is top notch. They had a great drink menu, the friendliest staff, and some nice bites. One of the best things though, is the indoor ambience. And the rooftop views are good too. The most important thing at a bar is the drinks. Don Woods has some unique drinks created by their mixologists. They also have some local beers which I really appreciate. Their drinks are fun to order an even more fun to drink. I recommend The Ghost of Mamie Taylor. In order to get those good drinks you need good service. I can honestly say this is some of the friendliest staff I have encountered. They made the experience so much fun. They really knew the drinks, they weren't afraid to share their opinion on what they liked, and they were very attentive. They have a limited menu for food. But everything we had was good. We enjoyed the Chips and dip (not salsa), cheeseboard, and olives. My favorite part is the look inside Don Woods. It's a throwback to old style bars with a classy feel. They have high back booths, Low lighting, and gold etched mirrors. The whole place just has a cool vibe. We could've stayed inside the whole night, but instead we made two reservations. One for inside, and two hours later one for outside. We ended up outside around 930, which was perfect time to get some great views of downtown without being too hot. I've been wanting to check out this bar for some time now! I'm so glad my friends and I did on a Friday night! The ambiance on the rooftop was so cozy with the comfy chairs and fire pits and the view of the city was awesome! The service was prompt & friendly as well. The manager even came over a few times to check on us. She was amazing! We only had cocktails and we all tried multiple different ones. They were all amazing! Love the unique custom cocktails. My favorite was the Grand Nacional. It had mezcal and was topped with lemon sorbet. Such a fun drink! I also tried the Venetian spritz and the Escapade. Both equally tasty as well. Amazing drinks and appetizers. The staff was friendly and fun and I will definitely be returning...in cooler weather!! I would have loved to have given this establishment 5 stars except the air conditioning was barely operating. At least that's how it felt. We had to leave sooner than I would have liked because both my husband and I were literally sweating through our clothes. It was unbearable! Granted the weather has been hotter than usual but we were hoping to sit and enjoy the amazing ambiance of the bar area and have another drink but just couldn't stand it any longer. My friend and I were super excited to attend happy hour this Friday and unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences I've had in awhile. We got there and we're one of two tables in the entire establishment. Over server was attentive at first, until he wasn't. The drinks and food came at a reasonable time and then it went downhill. He sat with his coworker two tables behind us and proceeded to smoke his vape pen and write in a notebook while our drinks were at the end of the table empty for 15-20 minutes. The worst part of the entire experience was we had ordered additional bread to finish our dip and it sat behind him at the bar for about 15 minutes waiting to be delivered to our table, as he proceeded to vape and write in this notebook. The dip was getting cold and so was the bread, so my friend got up and decided to grab it herself so we could finish up the night. He proceeded to look at his coworker and whisper "Oh, Shit! I forgot!".... After we finished our dip, drinks still empty, he came back and asked us if we were finished up. We proceeded to say yes and never saw him again. He ended up going back behind the bar with his coworkers for another 10 to 15 minutes before whispering in his coworkers ear. She proceeded to come over and check us out, with no apology or mention of anything that just happened. Just a reminder, the restaurant was EMPTY. If you're looking to spend $50 on two cocktails and a dip during happy hour, I would recommend going somewhere else. read more
