Great Views of Camelback! Although, the service was lacking and the drinks were not impressive for the price. Most likely would not return.

The customer service was awful. We were there an hour and a half and only had one drink. No one ever came to check in and see if we wanted another or even to ask if the ones we did get were to our liking. The deviled eggs were trash. Awful. Drinks were disgustingly alcoholic which would normally be a good thing but it wasn't. We told our server about the overly strong drinks, just one in particular which our friend took one sip of and couldn't stand, but we were informed that because she had taken one sip they couldn't do anything. No refund or even an alternative drink was offered which was very poor customer service. $18 for a drink that didn't even didn't even get drank. Overall, the Vibe is cool which is the best part of this place, but unfortunately that's not enough to ever warrant a second visit. There are far better bars elsewhere with quality drinks, great food, and customer service. You won't find any of that here. read more

I would probably give this place a 3.5 stars... first of all I got so confused on where this bar was kinda got lost ... but in all fairness I'm not good with directions anyways.. but it is on top of a hotel just fyi.. it was cold when we went and they did have the fire going and heaters but it was just unfortunate bc couple of their big heaters were out of propane..there wasn't a lot of people there so our server was pretty attentive to our group. It was 3 pm and I was doing some day drinking thanks to one hell of a crappy month. I'm still loving the feel in central Phoenix so decided to try this place for a sunset view and I was not disappointed at all. Champagne and sunset?! Absolutely. Great views of the valley and a funky 70's vibe make Don Woods a place to hang out on the regular. I loved the choices on the menu but wasn't hungry this time. I originally came here before it opened and learned about its grand opening week. I decided to come here on the second week open. The ambiance and decor is super cute and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is helpful with the descriptions and photos of the drinks. For me, drink choices 1 and 2 couldn't be made due to them being out of a necessary ingredient ( the foam being one of them). The waitress was nice and had the bar make a custom drink with my preferences due to some restrictions I have. My customer drink was not only cute, I'd tasted great and it was strong, just how I like my drinks. The other drink was pretty good too. No complaints other than being out of ingredients that made the drinks I was excited to try. The views are great and the staff opens the shades right around sunset to top off the experience. Not too family with the Phoenix rooftop bar scene but this little rooftop bar is located at the Rise Uptown on Camelback. If you're staying at the hotel, it's a very convenient spot to grab a drink during sunset. Unfortunately, the day we were here, there was a private event on the rooftop deck so we just got to briefly check out that area but it seemed very inviting and has the all too necessary misters to keep you cool. Sitting inside was awhile different vine I wasn't mad at. The music was great and the bartenders were friendly. I tried two different cocktails, the olives and the chips and dip. My friend suggested we visit this place as a pre-celebration outing for switching careers. For my first time coming here, I'm very impressed. I was initially confused about where the place was, as I didn't know it was part of a hotel. But, it was cool surprise once I figured it out! There's inside and outside seating. Obviously, my friend & I chose outside seating because it's a rooftop! My friend and I went around 9pm, and it was a nice crowd. Almost all of the tables were full. And when we got ready to head out, all of the tables were full. Unfortunately, I never went to inside to check out the inside seating. But, the outside seating on the rooftop was such a pleasure, so, it didn't matter too much to me that I didn't see the inside. I really enjoyed seating outside on the rooftop. The the nice weather, with a semi-nice view (I say semi-nice because there's really nothing to look at lol there's just buildings around, so it's not like you're looking out at The Valley or anything like that), they played great music! They played artists like Kaytranada and The Internet. I really enjoyed my drink. I didn't order a specialty drink, but, our server Melissa suggested a drink that she thought would best suit my taste and I loved it!!! She suggested a Daiquiri. I've never had a classic one because, the ones I've tried we're always flavored, like Strawberry or something. But, this I tasted like an adult Limeade, which was very refreshing! So, thanks so much Melissa for putting me on to a new drink! I'm giving this place a 4-star instead of 5 before I wasn't too keen of the appetizers. My friend and I ordered the chips and dip and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp cocktail was great, you could never go wrong with that. But, I strongly disliked the chips and dip. However, I'm open to trying different appetizers and entrées, to see what else this place has to offer. Let me tell you about Daniel. Daniels behavior made me and my group of friends question if we were in a movie. Let me start off by saying this rooftop bar is cute and aesthetically appealing to the eye with cute lights and outdoor furniture with a cozy bar. These attributes give zero indication of how bad the service would be. In the beginning of the night we start off by seating ourselves and while doing so we see a server who would end up to be ours (daniel) taking shots with another table. He approached our table to take drink orders and when our group ordered what we wanted (a variety of drinks) with some substitutions. The drinks sat at the bar for a long while and when they finally arrived they were made incorrectly, all of the group but one just decided to drink up! The one drink that would usually be sent back to the bar to be remake was now Daniel's personal drink for the night, we saw him multiple times with different drinks in hand. Daniel's behavior was one of a drunk. Sadly. The end of the night comes around, I go to pay the $85.77 total and give Daniel my card. Daniel created conversion during the transaction to be a distraction while tapping my card multiple times, when my account was empty he then said "my system is acting up does anyone have cash!" Takes $70 cash and says "your good to go I cleared the tab" with my suspicion I check and I was charged twice initially. We confront Daniel about the suspicious charges and he plays an act and says "it was refunded and will be on your account in a few business days". The night ends I go home and feel like I should check my account again to check and I was charged another $15.80. Still no refund and we have spoken to managers and supervisors. One in particular Greg, who has dismissed this whole exchange and gave false information about the refund and timeline of when it would be received. Needless to say this establishment is a waste of money and needs a new staff! read more

I selected Tommy's Margarita with pineapple flavor, the chips and dip, and Arizona Light. Margarita was strong and probably the best I've had anywhere. Loved how light and non-greasy the chips were, and the dip it came with was flavorful. It was a very hot and humid July afternoon so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor seating until we came back for HH an hour before they closed. We were warned by people coming out of the elevator that we needed a reservation but we got in no problem without one so idk what that was about haha. This was a cool low key place! The indoor bar was closed so we sat on the patio. I ordered the grand nacional. I like mezcal and order mixed drinks with it when I see them! This drink had little berries on it but the best part was the lemon sorbet in it. It was refreshing. Probably would've been a better summer drink but I didn't mind! Great for dates or smaller groups of 2-4 people My bf and I visited for cocktails after work. We ordered two rounds, first I ordered the Julius R. Harvey, bf had the grand nancional, and I quickly had drink envy! So good! It was sweet but we'll balanced with the mezcal. After, we enjoyed a round of "bartenders choice" with a Wray and Nephew base - Delicious! We noted a nice variety of spirits in the back bar while enjoying their house made chips & dip, it was light and full of fresh herbs! It was a cute and simple place, we really enjoyed the vibe. & it wasn't too dark too see each other like a lot of intimate bars, but still very relaxing! We will be back! I stayed at Rise Uptown as a staycation for my wife's birthday. We've seen some great promo for the hotel, pool, bar, and rooftop bar and figured this would be a great place to enjoy our weekend. Just our luck, it begins to rain heavily and our reservation was cancelled, but wasn't notified until we checked in. We were told that they would have us first in line in case a table were to open up. We waited at a high top table for about 15 minutes and ordered a round of drinks. A table opened up and we were able to have a booth that would accommodate our party that was able to attend. The service and accommodation to our party for my wife's birthday is enough for me to come back and recommend others to have a drink. Also, the drinks are amazing. There are only so many rooftop bars around Phoenix so it was a must for me to come check this place out. As expected Say When offers nice views and has a good selection of alcoholic drinks. It is definitely a vibe with chill music playing in the background and nice lighting. If you're worried about it being hot during the Summertime, then it's good to know that they blast their mists. If you don't mind getting a little wet, then it's no issue. I strongly recommend getting reservations in advance as walk-ins are rare during peak times. If you're too lazy to reserve then you can typically walk in after 10pm as the bar opens up. The daiquiri natural was very refreshing, I could've easily drank 3-4 of those. read more

We sat out on the rooftop and got great views of Camelback and Piestewa, along with Uptown. Very relaxing. Was also definitely vibing the music selection. Service: Service was nothing short of great. Asked for some recommendations of drinks and the gentleman provided a wide range of recommendations in the different categories of drinks. Checked this place out yesterday with a group of 6. To start off the view is amazing and the decors is very beach meets bohemian vibes. Our service was phenomenal Jeremy and Hannah were INCREDIBLE, very informative, conversational and super attentive despite being very busy! Our drinks were refreshing, full of flavor and perfectly crafted. If you are a proceso lover try the Asti and if you enjoy mezcal then try their take on this classic with muddled blueberry and sorbet. The chips and dip was so addicting and the cheeseboard compliments the drinks very well. We stopped in at say when after having dinner a fuego! (Gotta finish with a drink) the rooftop bar is cute and retro, a lil hard to get to depending on where you park. Loved the decor! We have been to LyLo beach club across the way and never even noticed the rooftop bar! The drinks were delicious. Very INVOLVED. Lots of great ingredients and really refreshing. Surprisingly it rained so the rooftop was a lil damp, but the view of downtown was beautiful and for once it wasn't too hot! Next time we will definitely try the food. read more

I went to the soft opening with my girlfriend after she found out about this place recently and it was worth it. When you walk up to the building security checks your ID and lets you up to the rooftop. We sat outside because we wanted to see the view and enjoy the weather which turned out to be perfect. It actually cooled down to 80 degrees which is basically unheard of during June in Phoenix at nighttime. Our drinks came out and they were well made. It does take some time since they're from scratch so thats to be expected so you have to be patient. We both enjoyed our drinks and we will be back very soon. Its a fun place for groups and if you want to make an impression. I'm glad we have places like this since rooftop bars are rare in Phoenix. read more

Say When is on the rooftop of a boutique hotel on Camelback. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and has a great view of the downtown Phoenix. When I first read the menu, I was concerned and unimpressed, but I tried the Lime Leaf Highball and holy shit!!!!! The soda they use maintains its fizz better than any other soda I've ever tasted. It was amazing!! Down to the last drop it was still carbonated. Exceedingly refreshing! I tried a few other cocktails that were also great, but the Highballs are definitely the way to go! read more
