They just use DoorDash and have no idea when you will get your food, and they charge you $5 delivery fee for the privilege I was on hold 30 minutes to find out my pizza would be an hour late. Chose em for their variety of options since it was a business luncheon with little idea what they wanted. Ordered for 14 people. Placed it online the day before, called to confirm it too. Showed up exactly when it was to be picked up @ 11:45, so it shoulda been all ready or hitting the window. After minor confusion w/ our bill we paid & I reminded her our order was slated for 4 mins ago. No reply & she goes to the back. Minute later comes out to answer phone, take a couple orders of ppl behind us, and hand out some to-go's. I ask her again, she says lemme check. Now it's been 10 mins.. comes out w salads. Above sequence repeats and I then I say you forgot my order right!? She replies only with "it'll be like 10 mins for the pizzas" as she hands us chicken, meatballs & cookies. Now I'm losing my mind! No explanation, no sorry. As soon as I raise my voice & people in line hear the issue & start leaving.. all of a sudden she says they had a big order ahead of mine that was important and offers to take some undisclosed amount off the bill later in day when it slows. Got the rest of food 25 minutes after the pick up time. I had to call my client and apologize profusely for holding up their meeting; but no apology from Donatos. I ordered the Ultimate 5 cheese pizza, well done, with light sauce for delivery. I stated the item twice after the woman on the phone asked if I wanted the BBQ Bacon Pizza without prompt. After correcting her I gave my cell phone number and address and received an estimated 20-30 minute wait time. called after 40 minutes and was told my delivery would be arriving soon. The delivery took nearly an hour to reach my stated address. The driver said he'd tried to call, but it didn't go through. I realized after the driver left that the reason it took so long was because the cashier input my phone number incorrectly, with the wrong city and zipcode (Beachwood 44122 instead of University Heights 44118). Additionally the pizza was not what I'd ordered. The ticket read "BBQ Bacon" which by this time was barley even warm. The bacon was in large burned slices, with way too much bbq sauce that reminded me of my campus dining hall experience (see photos). I called a third time to complain of the mix up and asked for a full refund, which they would not agree to because the ticket matched what was in the box. Despite not being what I ordered, they assured me it could not be wrong on their part. They sent me a new pizza instead which took an additional 47 minutes to arrive at nearly room temp. I asked this driver about a possible refund for the $5 price difference between what I ordered and what I was charged for he said it would be applied to a credit toward my next order, to which I said there would be no next order. read more

Order quoted for a 9:00 delivery, but did not show up for more than an hour afterwards. Called the Hudson location when order was so late, and restaurant promised the order would be delivered in less than 15 minutes, which proved to be nothing but a lie. The pizza actually NEVER showed up. Donatos uses DoorDash for their delivery and they changed drivers on us four times. Avoid the Hudson Donatos location! Frustration awaits. read more

Great place. Great pizza. Great management. Extremely poor and offensive front desk employee. Donatos has been a long time favorite for 20 years. I order pizza usually from this Donatos about twice per month. The management has always been very responsive and has been quick to make amends for late deliveries because of weather conditions; However after dealing with a young lady at the counter, I will never order from this location again. The young lady was attempting to explain a customer credit due to a payment mistakenly applied to what should have been a free pizza. The issue escalated when the employee attempted to explain what happened but clearly did not know the difference between a credit and a debit. The more she attempted to explain basic accounting, the more cloudy and confused her explanation became. She became disrespectful when I asked questions to clarify her understanding. It was not until management got involved that a clear explanation was provided. read more

Today we ordered two personal pan pizzas around 3pm our estimated delivery time was 4:20pm.. well when 4:30 rolled around we still had no pizza we called and were advised by a worker that the driver should be pulling up any moment. 4:53pm rolls around and still no food. We call back and was told that the driver had just left the store.. now is that possible?? Now 5:05 and still no pizza. Excellent pizza! I got the pepperoni duo and it was taste bud blowing yummy! Plenty of delicious pepperoni, lots of cheese, ample sauce on a perfect crust. I am a new devotee. I especially liked how they cut it up for a single person. The pieces were cut a little small for me I think. I also have to say the delivery guy was really nice. First, I love Donatos pizza, and I grew up on it. BUT there is something terribly dysfunctional about this outlet on Van Aken. We have ordered ahead, told a half hour, we arrive on time and we are still waiting after an additional thirty minutes. We have ordered at the counter and had them not make our order after waiting and waiting, only to be told that they'll just be a few minutes. In all this waiting we have seen them give people partial orders, wrong orders. And what gets me is that I have never seen this happen at other outlets. Part of the problem is the set up, the wall of red glass prevents employees on the line from seeing if anyone is out in the lobby waiting. And it disconnects the two halves of the shop. Donatos Corporate, get rid on that wall of red glass!!! I hope that they get some management in to right the ship. In the meanwhile, be prepared for a longer than normal wait time, and check your order before you leave to make sure this outlet hasn't screwed up your order. read more

Good service really stands out to me! I've been eating Donatos since I was in college, I just love their crust. Everton has an off night and I happened to go in on one. I wasn't going to complain because it wasn't the usual quality I receive there. Happened to be out and recognized the young man that assisted me that day and told him about my experience. He laughed because I remembered him and called him the Donatos man! He then apologized and told me he would correct the problem and told me to come see him. Managers should look like managers the appearances are horrible, the attitudes are bad, cussing is unacceptable, the way they treat their staff with customers present is disrespectful to customers, they need to be focused on better service, making a pleasant atmosphere for staff and customers, then they won't have to worry about mistakes made by workers because of their work ethics as managers. I've been getting pizza here for quite sometime it's great tasting pizza crust is not too thick ,and toppings are great . Try the wings excellent they cook them the right way a little crispy. There's a manager there named Darryl very customer oriented manager takes care of business . I had a limited break this evening and got my food prepared just in time and I made it back too work in time. This is a peculiar review. After recently having a very positive experience, the same pizza shop commits a colossal boo boo . I told others about Donatos. Having a party last Saturday, I called to have pizza for 50 people delivered. After hyming and hawing from a young lady, the phone was handed off to a young man. He told me that he couldn't deliver to my home. He told me that he couldn't deliver south of Emery which is 1000 feet from my home. This was angering and unforgivable! I'm a loyal Donato's customer, ordering delivery 1-2 a month from this location. Tonight, the delivery driver forgot to deliver our salad, understandable! When I called the store to check into the missing salad, the employee that answered the phone wasn't apologetic and said it would be 1:40hr or 2hrs before I could get a new salad and then asked if she'd like me to void my order and recharge it minus the salad or give me a credit. I felt that as a loyal customer, and there being an honest mistake, that the least the employee could do was be apologetic about the mistake and make some effort to right the wrong. Unfortunately the employee hung up on me instead. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I am not eager to order from Donato's or recommend them in the future due to this employee's actions. Upon receiving my order via delivery my sub was boxed upside down and was not only missing marinara but also had the wrong cheese. I called the store to ask about my order and the person who answered claimed to be the "manager". I love Donatos. What I don't love is waiting an hour for my pizza to be delivered. I ordered at 2:15 and my pizza FINALLY arrived just a few minutes ago at 3:25. The app told me that it was scheduled to arrive at 2:42. At 2:52 I called the restaurant and was told the pizza was on its way. I called again at 3:02 and again at 3:17. Finally I insisted they tell me what was going on. I never got an explanation but was told that the delivery guy was pulling up, and was told not to pay the driver. Been ordering from this Donato's for over 15 years, so I think I have more credibility than all the one-visit critics who had a hard time with the service or a delay in getting their pizza. This place is the best. The small, rectangular slices are genius. The taste has not changed at all in all the time I've been eating here. Doesn't matter if service can sometimes be slow. The delivery people are really nice and fast, and people who work there are cool. I would choose this stuff over basically any other fast food out there, maybe with the exception of Five Guys and the spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy's. We are long time customers of Donatos in Columbus and Grove City but this Donatos (Cleveland-Shaker Heights) tried to sell us a load of crap that their chicken wings will have a darker color because of how the skin cooks. The so called manager, the night of June 22, 2018, spoke over me when I was trying to explain to her how burnt the wings were and then snapped at me that it would like 45 minutes before they could get another order put to us.
