On a whim, I called and booked an appointment after my usual massage therapist was out of town. I was greeted so warmly on the phone by I believe Britney, and was quickly offered several appointments for the day. I picked the first available, and was placed with Ralph. When I arrived, there was plenty of parking and the business was simple to access. Once again I was greeted by the receptionist warmly. The lobby was spotless, and was very inviting. Off to the right they have a waiting area with salt lamps, cushy chairs, and even a tea and water bar. Ralph promptly greeted me at my appointment time and took me back to the treatment room. Once in the room, we chatted about my goals and concerns, and Ralph conducted some exercises to assess my shoulders. I really appreciated the care before I even got on the table! When it was time for me to undress to my comfort and get on the table, I noticed not only how clean the room was, but how quiet and truly relaxing the space was. The table was warm and sheets were soft. Ralph was so thoughtful and considerate of my body and what I was comfortable with. I've been getting monthly massages for years, so I am pretty much down for firm pressure, but I would recommend Ralph to anyone, especially beginners. His attention to detail, and consistent check ins, made me feel safe and respected - something that many women do not always experience. I left feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and all of my tension was gone. Today I am very thankful for donelson massage center and Ralph. I will be back! read more

Felicia is magic! It's rare for me to find my right fit with massage therapists. I've had awesome muscle tension release but no zen (with too chatty of therapists) and I've had quiet relaxation with nice (but nowhere near awesome) back rubs (I could get at home). That balance, or perhaps whole perfect package, is something I have been chasing. I'm thrilled and grateful to have found a massage experience I'm eager to repeat. This was my 2nd time with Felicia and I can confirm she is amazing! There will be a 3rd, & 4th &... It's in her details! -- I try out new therapists booking 60 minutes & it felt like a full body (90 min) session. Pure magic! She was so thorough and balanced. Felicia's instincts about what my body/muscles need is incredible. She seems to really 'listen to" how my body responds. From the pressure to time spent in certain areas it was incredible & geared perfectly to me. While she asked these questions before we began I was very general and didn't really have many particulars just "kinda achy, want to feel better". The icing on the cake -- While it may not surprise you that she gives attention to various pressure points on your body and gives your head (brain!) the perfect amount of touch... She addresses areas like your ears (lobes AND inner cartilage), jaw, jowls, neck, & various other parts of your face that other therapists don't massage. Who knew that these hidden gems were so neglected and that once addressed stress and tension you didn't even know you were holding would melt right off?! It was truly amazing. My boyfriend and I came here for a 60 minute couples massage because my brother and his girlfriend gifted us a gift certificate. My masseuse was Rose, my boyfriends masseuse was Zachary. We both thoroughly enjoyed our massages and how the environment aided in our complete relaxation. This was my boyfriends first professional massage, and it certainly did not disappoint. When we scheduled our couples massage, we just did a regular 60 minute Swedish massage. To my surprise, aroma therapy, hot towels, and hot stones were used on me by my masseuse Rose...it was such a delight! Since it was my first time here, a little time was spent asking if there were areas I needed work on and areas that needed to be avoided. I've gotten a massage every other month for the last 10 years, because I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck and I get migraines if I don't. And I've never been attached to one masseuse in particular. But I just got a 45 min massage from Ash, and it was the best massage I've ever had. Imad wholely embodies the term professionalism. I have suffered with pain and limited range of motion in my shoulders for several years. I have tried multiple approaches in the past including physical therapy, massage and acupuncture but in as little as 4-6 myofascial release sessions with Imad, I have noticed a huge increase in my range of motion whilst weightlifting and swimming and a huge decrease in my pain levels in my neck and shoulders for the first time in almost a decade. Imad's enduring attention to detail and his pin-point and precise massage technique, in spite of not being for the faint-hearted (deep breaths for the win!) will literally feel like the key to unlocking tension and freeing your body's range of motion. There is no one I would sooner recommend for myofascial release and trigger point therapy in my many years of receiving treatment. We had massages scheduled for 2 and were SO looking forward to them. We got a babysitter, got our toddler situated, and got in the car to head out when we got a call. Appointment got canceled 30 mins before it was supposed to start. I understand things happen but I expect a little more than 30 mins notice, especially when their cancellation policy charges full service amount for customer cancellations within one hour. So we still get to pay the babysitter but no massages for us. read more

Donelson Massage Center offers all sorts of massages, from deep tissue to pre-natal to thai massage that you can conveniently (and easily) schedule online, by phone, or in person.  They offer massages from 15 minutes to two hours.  One of my favorite things about this place is the flexibility.  They are open daily, and have an array of times available to meet practically anyone's schedule.  I have scheduled three massages here so far, one for my mom and the other two were for me.  We both have had great experiences here. The facility is a very nice size. Clean.  Quiet, tranquil atmosphere.  Very friendly staff at the front desk.  Both massages I had were excellent and very relaxing.  The massage therapists were very thorough and were able to customize my massage based on my aches and pains!  Donelson Massage Center is a gem, and I will definitely be back!  My only suggestion for this place is to maybe put some signs up so you can easily find your way back to the front desk!  I was a little lost after my massage as we had come through a door, and I couldn't remember which one! read more

I have a herniated disc in my neck and Zach did an amazing job! I needed firm pressure and focus on my shoulders and neck and he did just that. I opted for the cupping massage and it helped relieve so much pain. Zach is very kind and gave me a lot of tips for upkeep on my neck (different stretches, what to do/not do etc). Another thing I really liked was the massage chairs in the front while you wait. I've never seen that before. It's not just the flimsy ones you get at the nail salon either, these are zero G, get into every single muscle type chairs. I would totally come in early just for that! In the bathroom there are salt/sugar scrubs to try as well. I felt very pampered. If you're looking to treat yourself or someone else this is a great choice. read more

I had a wonderful experience in October 2020, and I decided to treat myself to a 90 minute massage with Zach on Friday, May 21st. This experience was absolutely horrible. At the beginning of the massage, I let Zach know that I had been experiencing tension headaches and anxiety and my overall goal for the session was stress relief. Zach (unprompted) talked the entire session about incredibly controversial topics. The line was crossed when he suggested that my Covid-19 vaccine was responsible for my anxiety and stress. Zach also was talking about misinformation regarding Covid-19 (about 5G manipulating blood cells, the Chinese government, and overall downplaying the severity of the virus). He also acted very immature, and when I turned over on my back he pulled the blanket over my nose and told me "I was a ninja", and when he was stretching out my arm, he took my fist and put it to my face like I was punching myself. My previous massage experiences, the massage therapists went above and beyond to create a safe, calm, and healing environment. Zach did not do that. After I paid and left, I was so upset by the experience that I went back in tears to talk to the man at the front desk. He listened to me and said he would speak to Zach about it, but he also managed to gaslight me and blamed me for not checking "no talking" on the intake form. I was never given an intake form when I arrived, and I did not fill one out during my online booking. I checked "no-talking" on my original intake form from October, but I do not believe that was referenced because Zach did not know that I did not want to have my feet or glutes touched until I told him at the beginning of the session. The man at the desk also told me I should ask for a woman next time that "thinks more like I do". I feel like it shouldn't matter. I have been in isolation for the better part of a year, I have lost family members due to Covid-19. This was my attempt to get a 90-minute break from the outside world and to feel "normal" again. The man at the front desk told me he would have the manager, Brittney, call me on Monday to discuss this further but she never did. It is Zach's right to believe in whatever he wants to believe in, I am not trying to change that. All I want is the acknowledgement that his behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional. I left Donelson Massage Center feeling awful, anxious, and tense and that should not have been the case. read more

Pros: Very affordable membership rate. I pay $49 a month and can typically get an appointment within the day. My schedule is hectic so this is very convenient. The staff, from the massage therapist to the front desk, are very friendly. And I've finally FINALLY have found a therapist that I really enjoy. Damita is great. She not only gets the knots in the tension areas, but also does great stretches and understands how to release tension through pressure points. She will be my go-to from now on. Another plus is that they have several add-on services for no additional cost. From aromatherapy sessions, biofeeeze pain therapy, sugar foot scrub, and more. I've been charged at minimum $10 for these services at other locations before. Cons: It took me several visits before I found a therapist that I really liked. There has been several occasions where I wish I had a better experience not that they weren't friendly, but because my massage wasn't as good as I'd hope. read more

I managed to snag a 90 minute massage at the very last minute with Francine. To say that it was wonderful would be an understatement. I have had so many traumatic things happen in the last year and the massage literally brought everything to the surface for me to let go. Her touch was almost freeing and I know that sounds weird. After the massage was over, I was actually moved to tears and I ended up having a heart to heart with her. This is my first time at this massage center, and the experience was remarkable from beginning to end. As soon as I stepped inside, I instantly felt relaxed and comfortable. The waiting area is comfortable and has a soothing, calming mood. The overall ambience is incredible. Imad was the masseuse for my session, and he is very respectful and considerate. He asked what my problem areas were, and he focused on them. All of his movements were gentle yet purposeful. I have never felt so relaxed in my life. The whole experience was exceptional. Donelson Massage is -affordable -clean -friendly -easy This isn't a fancy spa. The bathrooms are dingy, there's an employee kitchen that's visible, and the fancy fruit water comes in paper cups. However, when they get down to business, they do a good job and the therapists know their stuff. Overall, this was a convenient, easy experience. I even signed up for the membership ($1 cheaper than massage envy) afterwards. In terms of the experience, They do a nice survey ahead of time and then you're led to a room with calm music, privacy, and diffusers. When it's over, they give you a few extra minutes to relax and change. You can book online and they're never too crowded. Plus, you don't have to deal with any traffic and can go shopping at the heavenly Donelson Publix down the street. Donelson Massage comes by its five stars honestly. My experience wasn't the best. Here are the pros and cons I experienced this week. Pros: The woman at the front desk was so nice and welcoming. She really was great to interact with. The ambience was also great. & the intro price for a 60 minute massage and the membership options are awesome! Cons: Tonya did a terrible job on my massage. She did not at all pay any attention to my information sheet where I listed areas of my body like my face, scalp and feet that I did not want massaged. She continued to massage those areas anyway. Her bony elbows have left my back in more pain than I came in with. She literally only pressed down with her bony elbows into my bones over and over. I needed her to focus on my shoulders, back and neck which barely got 15 mins out of my 60 min massage. I may come back again but it will HAVE to be with a different masseuse. read more

Donelson massage centers offers peace, relaxation, and tension reduction without the crazy price. Yes, you do need to be okay with the building being old and more like an office building with small rooms (sometimes you might hear some people talking, but you can focus on the ambient sounds and breathing techniques to distract yourself from it) - but I'd rather save money than pay for the building! Every room I've been in has a comfy massage table, aromatherapy, hot towels, ambient noise, and more! Every massage therapist I've had has been great and very accommodating to my needs. After trying multiple therapists, I've started to see Allison consistently this year. Highly recommend her! Went for my first massage today after lurking on Yelp and their website for months. I am always a bit trepidatious about massages as I find they can be painful and awkward. After all the "not fancy" mentions in other Yelp reviews, I was thinking I would be walking into a sterile space but it's cute!: very comfortable and welcoming. Everyone was friendly -- and Francine, my massage therapist, was very kind and took the time to listen to what my concerns were - and specifically asked if there was anything I did not prefer and was able to alleviate some hip pain for me. If you think you'd like to come back regularly they do have a membership but even the non-membership rates are less pricey than I would expect for 'round Nashville. Also, of note, they have evening hours which is great for us non-morning people who work late! read more
