Curry goat with veggies and Jerk Chicken
Ronald S.

Miami is such an amazing place because of the melting pot of cultures! Coconutz provides a beautiful carribean experience! The staff is very authentic but welcoming. The curry stew conch with veggies is my favorite meal! The jerk was really good as well as the curry goat. The only that I was upset with was the picking of the goat( I felt it had a lot of bone pieces). If you're looking to enjoy some authentic carribean food then coconutz is one the best in south Florida.

Szechuan soy chunks

No frills Caribbean spot! The ordering is a little hectic when they're busy, which they usually are. Pack your patience! They have lots of vegan options from veggie chickn, veggie beef, veggie shrimp, tofu, and soy chunks. They also have a wide variety of ital vegan dishes which contain no soy and are all natural. I've tried the curried chickpeas before and that was really delicious. On this particular occasion I got the Szechuan soy chunks with fried rice on the side. There is an up charge of about $4 I believe if you want fried rice instead of regular rice and peas. It was pretty delicious and spicy. I've also gotten the Szechuan tofu which was good, but the tofu is quite dense. Moderately priced. This plate and one of the bottled juices was $21. The meal is quite big so you'll definitely have leftovers. I think this is a perfect option for vegans/plant based eaters that crave Caribbean flavors.

Too expensive for this kind of cafe. I paid $32 just for one person, which I feel is way overpriced compared to the quality and atmosphere. The food was average and nothing special, and the service was pretty slow. For this price I expected much better overall experience.

I had to stop in for some cat classic favorites. I ordered the ackee and callaloo with fried plantain. Also order the lunch special which was curry soy chunks with green salad and rice and peas. They have a large variety of fresh pressed juices, traditional Caribbean ales and sodas not to mention great deals for lunch specials, veg and non-veg. Another place where I can meet my friends no matter what our diet restrictions are and we're able to come together to enjoy a good meal.

Conch Fried Rice. Soooooo GOOD!!!!!

One of my husband's favorite restaurants to go to when in town. My first time trying it and I totally see why. Never heard of or had Conch Fried Rice before. Stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to try. So glad I did. It was AMAZING!!!!! Gets better with every bite. Couldn't stop eating and saying "hmmmmmm". Served hot and fresh. Fry Rice was not too hard or soft- perfect texture. Flavorful and not too salty. Nice portions of Conch and they give generous quantity. I ate from it three times. Also, tried the curry lobster which I wasn't impressed. Pieces of the lobster was hard and not that flavorful. I felt it was too expensive for the amount I got. Definitely can pass on it. My husband's curry shrimp dinner to me was just ok. I felt it could be more flavorful. Portion amount was good tho. Kinda pricey tho. He also ordered the chicken soup which I tried as well. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. Hits the spot when you want something warm on your tummy. Great appetizer before your meal too. Only thing I wasn't a fan of the wheat flour dumplings. I think it more of an acquired taste for those who like it. It wouldn't stop me from ordering the soup with the dumplings as I have to have them with my soup. Also, had other food items in there. Can't remember all the other food items in it. Warms up well and just as good for leftovers a few days later. Took off one star for the curry lobster and shrimp dinners. Sugar free Fruit Punch is delish. Nice tropical fruity flavor with a hint of sweetness- I guess it must be from the fruits. Had I tried it before we left I definitely would have bought more. Best tasting fruit punch I've had in a very long time. Most times they are too sweet and not as flavorful. We drove 1 1/2 (got caught in some traffic) each way to get dinner. The Couch fry rice and sugar free fruit punch was totally worth it. Can't wait to go back for more. Maybe I'll try something else new to take home with them.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. There was a special on the menu…read morethat was made to order and not pre-seasoned or pre-made. I politely asked if the seasoning could simply be left off due to an allergy, and my request was refused. Rather than accommodating a simple dietary restriction, I was told that the dish wouldn't taste the way the chef intended. While I understand wanting to preserve the intended flavor, customer health and safety should come first--especially when dealing with allergies. I find it concerning that no effort was made to accommodate a reasonable request or even ask about the severity of the allergy. In today's restaurant industry, flexibility and customer care are important. Unfortunately, I found the service to be very unaccommodating, and given the high prices, I expected much better. I will not be returning.

The restaurant is on the east side of 441 just south of Sheridan street. We came from the east and made a u turn at 441 and entered the parking lot through the Mobil gas station. Parking is at a premium here as there's a Family Dollar store and a Sedano's supermarket in the same strip. They specialize in seafood boils. On the window outside they were advertising chargrilled oysters for a $1 each. Dine in only. Woohoo. My husband and I each ordered a dozen oysters and one side of potatoes. The chargrilled oysters were great. Dowsed in garlic butter, and served hot, they actually tasted chargrilled. They came with lemon wedges and a few slices of bread to sop up the oyster flavored butter. The side of potatoes were three small red bliss potatoes that had been steamed. They were plain -- no seasoning --but that was okay as I also dipped them in the leftover garlicky butter. Two things I didn't particularly care for were 1. that they served plastic ware to eat the oysters. And 2. They automatically include a gratuity on the bill (but they said so up front). To sum up: Bottom line -- liked the oysters (especially for $1 each) but didn't like having to use the plastic forks.

They were also able to provide us with separate checks with no fuss! This was a great plus for us. Overall I was glad with the quality and the variety they had. All the foods were freshly prepared, and arrived relatively fast to our table, so we all We're able to start eating and enjoying our food together. They also have a lunch menu! It is a reduced portion of their menu as it includes only 5 choices, but the choices are good enough that they are a great sampler of the food and the portion size is abundant! We all took some home for dinner! This time we did not taste their desserts, but I have such a craving for the chocolate cake that looked delicious, that I'm sure I'll be back soon! I ordered the tenderloin over the huancaina risotto and it was a huge portion (not a lunch menu item). The sauce was a bit salty so I did not take it "to go", just the delicious risotto and the tenderloin chunks. Three friends ordered the "trio" sampler with ceviche, fried calamari and some risotto; a couple friends ordered the sautéed chicken with white rice and French fries that looked spectacular, and a couple other friends ordered the fettuccini in huancaina sauce with the breaded chicken filet that was a humongous dish and very yummy! Finally one friend ordered a Maki Sushi roll that was beautifully plated, and another ordered the seafood risotto that was also very yummy. Everything smelled and looked like something I would've loved to have... so juat Enjoy and come back for more! Don't forget to check the last page for those lunch specials!

Also learned they are highly sustainable. The service is always great and just want to say we adore when our server Karen is available. Ask for her, you will be thrilled. That's not say the others aren't also spectacular at anticipating your needs and menu knowledge, but she has a sparkling personality and doesn't miss a beat. It also says a lot when someone has worked there for years and years. It says without words that employee retention is a reflection of the company itself (management and owners). I definitely highly recommend this environment for those who enjoy a lively place as there is a fun and unique way in which they honor birthdays (a great spot for these celebrations), every guest is given a wooden mallet (hammer) to break the crab shells, however, when they announce a birthday wish over the speakers throughout the array of dining room options (one being a large barge on the canal), EVERYONE bangs their mallets on the tables which creates a cacophony of sound! SO much fun, but do not go there if you have a headache or are looking for a low key atmosphere. We adore The Rustic Inn, as it also has a very New England vibe and that happens to be where I'm from. It is consistently great, and it is a little spendy, but it's CRAB, so don't expect it to be cheap. If you want a delicious meal with top tier hospitality, in a down home environment, The Rustic Inn is the best around and conveniently located right off I-95
