This was a first at 7th District during the middle of the week. The Collard Green dip was flavorful. Pita chips accompanied the dish. I ordered the waffles and chicken opting with the red velvet flavor. The red velvet waffle was not good; it had a sour taste. I sent it back and just stuck with the whole chicken wings. They were good. Initially it was suppose to be six people in my party however it ended up being four people. I arrived at 6pm, was greeted, and asked if I could get a table for six, no problem. I would recommend if you have a large group. The atmosphere is cool; R&B music was being played and it was great music. I saw a DJ come in a few minutes before we left. Our waitress was pleasant. To sum it up, I loved the decor - a sultry black and red with a beautiful floor to ceiling tile wall. We were seated immediately and ordered drinks. Their signature drinks are a little pricey, ranging from $11-15. However, they had drink specials (Friday is ladies night) and there were $5 cocktails. Had Bacardi rum w/ Pineapple and grenadine $5.00 and they weren't stingy with the booze. One was enough for a small buzz to relax. My friend ordered something and was informed within minutes that it wasn't available for that night. New business problems. Get it together. He then ordered a salmon Caesar salad. Pretty good, but nothing special. The piece of salmon wasn't particularly large. They originally served it with Ranch dressing. Simple mistake that was fixed quickly. I ordered the crab, spinach, and artichoke dip and the salmon bites. The salmon bites were more of a salmon salad that was fried. Easy to bite into and well seasoned. The crab dip came with freshly cooked pita chips. The chips were Great, the right taste and texture, being chewy and not too crunchy. The dip however lacked in crab meat. I think it was $8, so you get what you pay for. I think there was a healthy amount of crab flavoring in there as opposed to actual meat. That being said, the dip was still tasty. And because there was a significant delay in my food being served, the manager comped my meal. I didn't have to ask or complain. She was just on top of her game and noticed that I Still wasn't eating after 30+ minutes. Excellent customer service points there. This same night, I came back with my girls because they were hungry after a long night. It was probably 1:45 and the kitchen was already closed. However, the owner offered to fix us some wings. We didn't take him up on the offer, but the gesture was very nice. He invited us to come back and handled the situation well. Great experience. This restaurant will be around for a long time to come. I attended a Pop Up brunch at 7th district on Saturday, April 9th. The restaurant has been open for about 2 weeks and since time of opening have only served brunch on Sunday. When we first arrived, We had multiple wait staff attending to our table. They were very patient and wanted to make sure that we were ok. Our waitress ended up being Monique who is GM of 7th district. She served with a smile on her face. The place got pretty busy after a few hours and the owner, Josh Vereen, was also on the floor serving. I ordered Ny strip steak; it was over cooked so I sent it back. The second preparation was overcooked as well. If you like your steak red or pink in the middle, I would recommend ordering under your preferred cooking temperature. I ordered my steak medium but it was prepared to medium well temperature. If I were to order a steak again from 7th district , I would order medium rare. I tried the crab cakes which were seasoned well with little filler and a good amount of crab and the chicken and waffles; chicken was seasoned well but waffle was gummy. Overall look of the place was simple but elegant. A Lot of people attended the event but there was enough space for folks to move around and socialize. I will definitely be back to experience the live music on the weekends. Absolutely the worst dining experience we've ever had in 61 years. We've eaten in so many places all around the world. The service was horrible. Our reservations were for 5 p.m. and the employees & manager made sure we didn't get in until then. Then the manager knew we were upset & tried to tell us it was tapas style. I guess hoping we were 2 idiots that knew nothing about tapas. Our waitress was ignorant to us and when my date would ask for something, our waitress treated her like how dare you ask for that. I ordered the lamb chops medium rare and they were overcooked. My date ordered the fried rice & it was inedible. My date did not receive her entree until 30 or 35 minutes after I received mine. When we asked about her getting her entree we were told by the waitress you'll get it when it's ready. They automatically put a 20% tip on your bill & then at the bottom ask you what amount tip you would like to leave hoping you don't notice the 20 % already added. People came in after us and received their food before us. We arrived at 745 didn't get food until 9. The waiter tried his hardest. My sister had to go to the kitchen to get her own silverware. for mediocre service they need to come down in price and changed that 18 percent. Tips should be earned not automatically taken. I won't be back. However, the wings were good. And so were the drinks. My party did enjoy the food. But that bill. If I spend that kind of money I want more food and a better experience. read more

Went to this restaurant last night and it was horrible. Service was the worst I had experienced at a restaurant. Took an hour to get drinks. e ordered our appetizers and that took another 45 minutes. No silverware or plates were on table, so when appetizers did come we had to wait another 15 minutes or so to get proper utensils to eat with by then every thing was cold. A lot of things we never got but were still added to bill with a gratuity in tack. Now if that was not enough there were roaches crawling on the floor in the dining room area, while customers were sitting there. Hate to think how many may have been in kitchen. I definitely recommend getting a reservation because if not you will not be able to get in without waiting a while . We waited 2 hours and went into the restaurant to see the tables empty and the chairs put up. At this time, it is 1025. One of the employees came up and said we are closed. I responded that I was placed on the waitlist and never received a call. She said the kitchen got backed up and they had to close early. She then Followed that sentence with, "a lot of people on the list did not get called". I was not happy with that response nor how this company handled this situation. If they were closing early, they could have notified the people still waiting to come in and let them know they will be closing. read more

The waffle option for red velvet won me over. Ok, I was disappointed in the waffles. I think the citrus cream cheese drizzled on it took away from true red velvet flavoring. However, the chicken was good! My friend ordered the salmon and grits. It can with teriyaki sauce - how odd. Anyway, it was a nice meal and I left full.
