Couldn't wait to take a piece!

I just found out that she makes king cakes! You have to order in advance, but baby let me tell you!!!! If you like their doughnut's you'll love the king cake! Oh and the service is always impeccable!

All the other amazing donuts.. cake one is off the chart good.

By far the best hot glazed donut you will ever eat in your life. The staff is amazing. I would recommend this place to everyone. Please don't go between 8-9AM because that's when I go and line is already big enuff.. lol These donuts are made with love that's why there so good..

This is, hands down, the best donut shop on the planet! I grew up in New Orleans East and we came here often. When I got older and started coming back on my own, the donuts were just as good. This has been verified many times over as I've brought friends from Arizona to New Orleans and they all confirm that these are the. Eat donuts that they've ever tasted. The service is always good. The nicest people work there from the community and the owner can often be heard singing in the back or hanging out up front between baking. The place isn't much to look at from the outside (or the inside for that matter). But as soon as you walk in, you can smell fresh donuts being baked. I only ever buy the glaze donuts (if you can get them hot, even better!). You will not regret this place if you visit!

Just walked in and i LOVE IT!!!! The customer service was impeccable and the vibes were everything for me. I just moved here from VA & I know that southern hospitality is real out here, but babyyyy when I tell you this place is so cute. The laughter and the people just made it an overall great experience. Trust me, I was there for less than 5min but it was such a memorable experience I had to share. I got a dozen for $8.50 of the chocolate and the glazed & the sweet lady gave me a honey bun! I got back to my car and tried it out & wasn't disappointed. The donuts are so soft and not overly sweet. But look at the size of this honey hun. It's legit the size of the box. I will be back!!!! Thank you for making my day!!!

Fresh, delicious donuts - 8 donuts plus 2 chocolate milks were less than $10! And, the ladies who work here are patient and friendly.

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (one being only 2 years old), and because of that they changed our table type from a 4-top to a 5-top and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.

I lucked out by finding Ayu Bakehouse. They happened to be located on the same block as my Airbnb…read more They have a wide variety of baked goods to choose from, with the ham & cheese croissant and parm & chive biscuit being my favorites. I wasn't a fan of the cinnamon roll due to the crunchiness of the raw cane sugar on top. Ayu is a counter service restaurant with a full service coffee setup. The line moves fairly quickly, so don't be deterred if the line is out the door. Seating is very limited, so we took our items to go. Definitely worth the visit!

Their coffee is also really good and pairs perfectly with the food. The staff does a great job keeping up with the rush. The only downsides come down to space and logistics: Limited Seating: There is very little room inside, so it fills up fast. Outdoor Seating & Smoking: Because inside is tight, you often have to sit outside. Unfortunately, people were smoking in the outdoor seating area, which makes for a pretty unpleasant experience if you're trying to enjoy your food and fresh air. Parking: It can be quite a hassle to find a spot on busy days, so be prepared to circle the block. Overall, the food and drinks are a 5/5 and absolutely worth the trip, just keep the seating and parking limitations in mind if you're planning to stay and eat!

This French bakery offers authentic pastries, hand-made croissants, brunch fare, & espresso drinks. The high-ceilings, white tile, and marble tabletops emit a European café vibe. There is also a charming courtyard if you want to soak in some sunshine. I first learned about this bakery when staying at the Hotel Villa Convento across the street. They served their buttery rich croissants as part of their continental breakfast. (I'm not sure if they still do.) Now that I have a house in the Quarter, I take a morning stroll over here to pick up croissants to take home. The butter croissants are a bargain at $3.50. I also love the chocolate & almond (both are $3.95 each), as well as the crisp & flaky Palmiers & delicate Almond Florentines. When I have guests, I bring them back a Ham & Cheese Croissant - a bargain at $5.50. They always ask me to bring another the next day.
