This sandwich shop is but far one of the better Vietnamese Sandwich shops in Sonoma County. Being a Vietnamese-American, I've had my fair share of Banh Mi's from the Bay Area to LA AND even to Vietnam. I know what an aunt genetic sandwich is suppose to look like and what it should taste like. This place bakes their own baguettes and you can taste it when you bite into the sandwiches. The meats are quality, flavorful and tender. The condiments such as the pickled daikon and carrots and perfectly fermented and provide a nice fresh acidity/ sweetness to the sandwich. I love this place! The service could be a little quicker, but the food is so good I don't really mind and just plan for it. My go tos are the BBQ pork Bahn Mi and shrimp spring rolls (their peanut sauce is sooo good!). I've also tried their tiramisu and lotus croffles, which are both really tasty too (really rich and sweet, so great for sharing). They do have some seating inside but not much and nothing fancy. Kelly is the sweetest owner. She recognizes me every time I come in so this review is overdue. I got my usual Banh Mi Cha Lua with no Mayo or Jalapeños. I decided to splurge and get an order of their crispy eggrolls too. More than enough food for me but hey why not right? Wide selection of banh mis and other Vietnamese items. Plenty of drinks in the cooler as well as Chip variety too. There are a few small tables to dine in but I typically see guests grab Togo orders. It's always clean, bright and cheery. Was in Santa Rosa with a bahn Mi craving so looked up who had the best reviews. Kelly's it was! So I headed down and had to circle the block once to realize that the best place to park was on the side rather than the front. Good filling choices. I got a meatball which was taking a risk but totally worth it. The bread is amazing and the sandwich is bigger than most Bahn Mi. The meatballs were juicy and tender and there was just the right amount of cilantro and mayo and jalapeño . I did not taste the pate, which was a little disappointing and I did want more veggies, but the sandwich was excellent and a very fair price. The fact that the bread is home made, the meat balls were clearly home made, the veggies were good and the cilantro was super fresh, along with friendly staff... made this a home run. Wish they had a durian shake to go with it, but oh well. Why can't I find fresh durian anywhere in the north bay??!! read more

I love banh mi sandwiches. However, of the dozen banh mi sandwiches I've had, Kelly's was my least favorite. My wife and I had two different banh mi sandwiches and both were light on the meat and veggies. The veggies didn't seem like they were pickled. The pork belly was flavorless and was thinly sliced compared to all of the other banh mi sandwiches I've had. They make the bread fresh. It was okay. I thought it was going to be better since they made it fresh in the house. If Kelly's was my first experience at having a banh mi sandwich, I probably would've never have tried another. EDIT: Talking with my wife, she reminded me that Kelly's sandwiches are much less expensive than any other Banh Mi's we have had recently. The last time we paid less than $10 for a Banh Mi in the Bay Area was at least 10 years ago. I added a star for the price. read more

Happen to be in the area and was happy to try another banh mi place after my fav closed. This place is right across the street from the Santa Rosa High School, right before the car wash. The prices are very reasonable, and I'm happy to report the Vegetarian Sandwich was very good! It consists of mushrooms, tofu skin, Bi Chay, cucumber, pickled veggies, and cilantro (asked for no jalapeños). The bread is very good, but be careful as the outside is a little sharp. Ate the BBQ pork banh mi, the roasted chicken banh mi, and the fresh shrimp spring rolls. All were tasty. The sandwich bread had that desired poofiness inside and the crisp crumbly outer crust. Compared to banh mi at other places in Santa Rosa, these rate favorably. Certainly a quantum leap better than the sandwiches at Thuan phat on Santa Rosa Ave. Prices here are reasonable for the quality and generous quantity. I was expecting a good bbq pork bahn mi based on the reviews. Turned out it was not a good sandwich. The size was very positive and the bread was ok although flaky, a bit hard and on the dry side. Finally getting to review this place. Eating it in peace and not rushing out eating I the car... yumm.. so happy I stopped in. Always happy to see the owner in here. Kelly! I feel so welcome. My to go is the combo ham sandwich. I have tried others and I asked what her most popular item was and she said BBQ pork sandwich. I just like this one. I know other people say she skimps on the veggies, maybe she's read it, because I do think it has gotten better. I do have to say that they are always really fresh though. I tried the taro milk tea. I wasn't too fan of the boba itself, but the drink itself was good. She's a good sales person, I got the waffle because it smelled so good, but not pushy I know could of said no but the waffle sold itself with the smell. I work nearby, but I've never been in before, because the place looks little sketchy to me. I went in today at around 4:15 PM. I was the only customer in the store. I paid for the sandwich and then stood there while the woman at the counter chatted with the other two employees. After waiting a bit, I gave her the "so, what gives?" look, at which point she made it. I would characterize the sandwich as "good if you're hungry, but nothing to write home about. Was going to go next door for frozen yogurt, but my sister wanted a pandan waffle. Ordered two, ended up being a little steep at $6. Waited a fairly long time for them to be made, and we were the only customers in the store. Noted that none of the staff were wearing masks. After we got the waffles (piping hot, yay!) we noticed that one was slightly undercooked and doughy in some places. It was a decent waffle but overall not the best I've had and for the price, quality, and wait time, I'm not sure it was worth it. I haven't found a place with good Bành mì sandwiches since moving to Sonoma County and found this place not too far from home. We decided to give it a try and Kelly's definitely did not disappoint. She bakes her bread fresh in the morning and the flavors are on point. My fiancé and I ordered one to share (grilled pork) and a Thai tea! All I have is to say is the food felt like it was made at home by my mother and also their speciality drinks in the fridge are worth checking out too as they don't make them very often since this place is constantly preparing orders due to their presence and quality. Pork Banh Mi was good. The bread is on the crispy semi tough to rip side, but only on the exterior, the inside was soft. The meat was very chewy and like stringy, you know connective tissue or something. But the flavor of the meat was on point, so I chewed like mad enjoying the flavor and just swallowed it down. It was average to maybe a little more than average. One lady apparently owns and runs it, so be ready to be patient if you choose to go.it's a tiny shop with limited seating. read more

A plus to their bánh mì is that they will sometimes have homemade Vietnamese desserts that you cannot find anywhere else in Santa Rosa. I got the bbq pork bang mi, and a coke. My bill came to $6.50 The sandwich was a good size, and very tasty. I saw a big Hobart mixer and bread racks behind the counter so I struck up a conversation with the lady making my sandwich. Turns out she comes in at 3am everyday to make her bread fresh! I didn't realize this place was here! It's the old Perry's Deli! Kelly's sandwich serves Ban mi, although there's different kinds, I recommend trying the combo, I feel like it gives you the original flavor of the Ban mi, be brave.. it does have pate but it's delicious. I have not tried there other sandwiches but I'm sure they are also yummy. The bread is a short baguette and flaky but chewy on the inside- guaranteed mess but worth it. The only down side is that is a bit pricey for this style of sandwich and the amount of filling that goes into it. Still worth a try. read more
