Amazing sandwiches! Love me a banh mi or two! Everything on their menu is delicious, from drinks to waffles, egg rolls and more! Service is great, establishment very clean! Decent prices. You can smell the fresh baked bread before you enter the store. Satisfying everytime. Will be back a million times more. Thank you!

Banh Mi Cha Lua
Jane L.

Kelly is the sweetest owner. She recognizes me every time I come in so this review is overdue. I got my usual Banh Mi Cha Lua with no Mayo or Jalapeños. I decided to splurge and get an order of their crispy eggrolls too. More than enough food for me but hey why not right? Wide selection of banh mis and other Vietnamese items. Plenty of drinks in the cooler as well as Chip variety too. There are a few small tables to dine in but I typically see guests grab Togo orders. It's always clean, bright and cheery. There is always a few customers waiting 5-10 minutes for their orders. Please support this small business!

Veggie bahn mi - Okay

1 July 2024 I wanted to like this one but am still looking for a go-to bahn mi in Santa Rosa. By the numbers: Food 2/5 Service 3/5 Ambiance 3/5 Value 4/5 Veggie bahn mi - Okay. Bread was stale. Veggie "meat" has an odd texture. Caused upset stomach. BBQ pork bahn mi - Okay. Stale bread. Meat was low quality with lots of chewy gristle. Mayo was old and had the yellowish tinge of being left out unrefrigerated.

Happen to be in the area and was happy to try another banh mi place after my fav closed. This place is right across the street from the Santa Rosa High School, right before the car wash. The prices are very reasonable, and I'm happy to report the Vegetarian Sandwich was very good! It consists of mushrooms, tofu skin, Bi Chay, cucumber, pickled veggies, and cilantro (asked for no jalapeños). The bread is very good, but be careful as the outside is a little sharp. Overall, reasonably priced banh mi and will need to come back to try their desserts!

Oh my God this place is so good 10 out of 10 the sandwiches are the best I would recommend 10/10

The owner here is awesome, food and drinks are excellent. I miss the white gourd thai drinks in a can but they always have something interesting. Prices are awesome I love supporting this little spot. Keep killing it Kelly!!

Ate the BBQ pork banh mi, the roasted chicken banh mi, and the fresh shrimp spring rolls. All were tasty. The sandwich bread had that desired poofiness inside and the crisp crumbly outer crust. Compared to banh mi at other places in Santa Rosa, these rate favorably. Certainly a quantum leap better than the sandwiches at Thuan phat on Santa Rosa Ave. Prices here are reasonable for the quality and generous quantity. Kelly made the sandwiches and rolls fresh while I waited just five minutes. Two people can eat to fullness with soft drinks for less than $20. Gets my endorsement for good cheap eats.

Taro milk tea with boba

Finally getting to review this place. Eating it in peace and not rushing out eating I the car... yumm.. so happy I stopped in. Always happy to see the owner in here. Kelly! I feel so welcome. My to go is the combo ham sandwich. I have tried others and I asked what her most popular item was and she said BBQ pork sandwich. I just like this one. I know other people say she skimps on the veggies, maybe she's read it, because I do think it has gotten better. I do have to say that they are always really fresh though. I tried the taro milk tea. I wasn't too fan of the boba itself, but the drink itself was good. She's a good sales person, I got the waffle because it smelled so good, but not pushy I know could of said no but the waffle sold itself with the smell. While sitting here I was mostly by myself, but in the 30 mins the was about 10 people ordering and taking to go.

First time here. First impression are welcomed as soon as I walked in, nice and bright inside, counters to eat, and overall seems nice and clean so far. Food ordered: (3) Special Combo Bahn Mi ($7:50) Update will come after food consumption :D Update: Bahn Mi was good, bread was crispy on the outside airy in the inside, paté was decent (slightly plain), the pickle daikon and carrots (are not sour or sweet = a little flavorless), everything else was great! All in all 4.1

Great banh mi. Viet-owned. Definitely coming back. The Viet iced coffee needs to be a little stronger though.

Coming up this week for a visit. Wondering if they accept credit cards now? The last place called Kelly's (American Food) only accpted cash and had one of those ATM's that charge a really high fee to use.

The shop itself is super cute and pink, very aesthetic and fun. It is self service, they have large touch screen to order. I ordered the milk tea with 30% sugar and boba, and my husband got the jasmine green tea with tea jelly. The boba was chewy and cooked perfectly. The milk tea was good, but I didn't notice a big difference compared to other boba places. The jasmine green tea, though, was very refreshing, and the tea jelly was SO good! soft, smooth, and full of tea flavor. I actually liked the tea jelly a lot. Prices are about the same as other boba spots, but if you sign up, you get 15% off your first order, which is a nice perk. I'd definitely come back again! especially for the tea jelly option!

I have been to this place when it opened and had two drinks which were both really good (tiramisu…read morematcha & mango coconut). I have been twice after and the drinks continue to be consistent. The service is always good but usually like to order the kiosk to make things faster and so I can look at the menu a little while longer. I wanted to update my review because of the last interaction I had. About a week ago I went in and got 2 drinks which I ordered on the kiosk. I waited for my drinks and they came out. The only thing is that when the handed me my drink it had lychee and I had pressed boba on the kiosk not lychee. I went back and told them my order was wrong and the woman in the front was very confrontational and just answered " no you chose that" I told her that maybe it was a mistake on the kiosk but it was a mistake I do not like lychee and wanted boba instead. She kept repeating " you chose that" and I finally got upset and pushed the drink twords her and told her that if she was unwilling to fix it that I wanted a refund. She finally offered to remake it but not before again repeating " you chose that". She remade it and I left. I was speaking to my mom about the interaction and she told me that she watched me press the boba option on the kiosk and it charged me 80 cents for it. The woman before me ordered the same drink as me and we thought maybe the lady mixed it up and just handed me the wrong drink. Either way the interaction was upsetting because I was not being rude or confrontational and I felt embarrassed by this lady speaking to me that way, it was so uncomfortable and unnecessary.

The Vibe Walking in here is a trip. It's got that glorious,…read morequirky architectural DNA of a former fast-food joint, but instead of a sad burger, you're greeted with the kind of service that actually makes you feel like a human being. It's "drive-thru cool" meets "neighborhood gem." It's unpretentious, it's efficient, and it works. The Goods * The Pho: This isn't just soup; it's a spiritual experience. The broth is cleaner than a fresh audit and hits harder than a Monday morning deadline. * Banh Mi: The bread actually has that "shatter" factor. One bite and you're covered in crumbs like a happy disaster. It's the perfect ratio of crust, fluff, and savory kick. * Lemongrass Soup: If you need to wake up your senses, this is the lightning bolt. It's bright, herbaceous, and makes standard chicken noodle look like a nap. * Spring Rolls: Tight, fresh, and paired with a peanut sauce so good you'll want to take a pint of it home for later. The Bottom Line Forget the white tablecloths. If you want the real deal in Santa Rosa, you go to the place with the quirky layout and the elite kitchen. It's fast, it's fantastic, and it's got more character than a Russian novel.

I've been here before and the food is decent, though overpriced for what you get. This visit,…read morehowever, was a different experience entirely and one I feel other customers need to know about. We started with the BBQ pork spring rolls. The BBQ pork was shredded, which felt like a cost-cutting move on protein. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting for the price point. I was seated outside with my dog on a busy, loud street. I ordered a bánh mì sandwich by number. Our server came back mid-order to ask about rice or noodles, which I assumed was a clarifying question about my mom's vegetarian soup, as both dishes contained tofu. When the food arrived, I received lemongrass tofu and not what I ordered. I flagged it immediately. The server acknowledged the confusion but then returned to inform me that the owner, who was off-site and being reached by phone, was requiring me to pay for the wrong dish regardless. This is apparently their policy: if an order is made in error, the customer is still responsible for the cost. I asked to speak with the owner or an on-site manager. Both requests were denied. What I was told next genuinely shocked me: the server mentioned that the cost of the wrong dish would be split between the kitchen and serving staff. These employees were willing to cover a mistake out of their own pockets rather than push back on the owner. The server was visibly uncomfortable throughout the entire interaction. To be clear: the staff were kind and doing their best under what appeared to be a stressful and unfair working environment. This is a management issue, not a staff issue. If you dine here, confirm your order carefully, especially if seated outside where it's loud. And know that if the restaurant gets your order wrong, their policy may hold you responsible for it.

I have often accidentally ordered tea with cheese foam, because Happy Lemon also offers milk-free tea options. Pros: I love salted cheese foam, and Happy Lemon delivers on it! Their milk teas with salted cheese foam are amazing. I've also had the taro milk tea with salted mochi in it, which has a very creamy texture and a great combination of saltiness and sweetness. I have also had the strawberry matcha smoothie, which I also enjoyed. The counter tends to be busy whenever I go, but the staff is always trying their best and they are helpful. Another great thing about Happy Lemon is that they never charge you extra for ordering drinks without ice. There are also no issues with parking since Happy Lemon is located directly in the Santa Rosa Plaza Mall, where there are parking garages close by. Cons: The tapioca tends to be undercooked, so the texture is often stiff instead of chewy. The drinks are too sweet for my liking, and this is coming from someone who has a sweet tooth. I've ordered drinks at 75% sweetness before like I do at other tea shops, but when I ordered from Happy Lemon, the drink was so sweet that I felt extremely sick and had to add some water at home to dilute the taste. This is because Happy Lemon adds an unbelievable amount of sugar to their tapioca and jellies. If you plan on ordering a drink with tapioca and grass jellies, consider getting 0~25% sweetness. I've been ordering at 0% sweetness lately. Depending on the time and day, Happy Lemon tends to get busy, but I haven't experienced any long lines. One way I feel that they could cut down lines is having a self-service device, but unlike other Happy Lemon stores, the Santa Rosa Plaza Mall location does not have one. I asked the staff about it and they said that they don't have one because of concerns about theft. Overall: Happy Lemon's service is great, and having salted cheese foam is a plus in my book! However, their drinks are extremely sweet, and probably much more sugary than any other milk tea shop I've been to. Consider ordering 0~25% sweetness if you add tapioca or jellies. I have not ordered anything else from Happy Lemon, so I can't comment on them, but I would like to try the egg puff waffle someday.

It bothers me that I like this place so much…read more Mainly because the cost of dim sum at some restaurants is ridiculous. The fact that Hang Ah charges $8.45 for an order of har gaw or shu mai today when just a few years ago this dish was half the price at most dim sum spots puts a money chill in my very bones. But the fact is that their flavors are on point brings me back in the future. I had one of the best turnip cake dim sum I have ever tasted. Crispy fried with some great flavor through and through. I would order this dish every time I visit in the future. But I would also request that they sear it on both sides for optimum tastiness. The har gaw and fried squid were also full of flavor. I do think that in the future I would request the squid extra crispy as it was a bit undercooked and limp when it should be crispy af. :-) The spot is typical of Chinese restaurants in terms of ambiance and service. All in line with my expectation. My only complaint is paying near $50 for 2 orders of dim sum and one entree. I hate 2026 prices.

The outside looks unassuming, but the inside is very clean and neat. Not too packed at noon on a Monday. Pros: - Favorite items: Chicken Claws, Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice, and baked bbq buns - The meat on the Chicken Claws was tender and easy to get off the bones. The claws were soaked in a sauce that was a perfect mix of sweet and savory. - Though the baked bbq buns could've used more filling, the bun itself was soft, fluffy, and warm, covered in a thin layer of sticky-sweet glaze that paired well with the sweetness of the chashu pork filling. Cons: - Shanghai Soup Dumplings are a skip. They seemed over-steamed, as the skin was sticking to the bottom of the dish and to other dumplings, causing them to rip easily and lose all their broth when you tried to pick them up. - Items like the sesame balls, the steamed egg custard buns, and the baked bbq buns could definitely use a lot more filling.
