After another deflating softball loss a softball buddy and myself came here. The place is nice it is no dunkin donuts but serves its purpose for a sugary treat on the corner of halloween blvd and elm come here for a yummy donut. The donuts are fresh and quite tasty, however the downfall here is the customer service as well as their hot chocolate. The hot chocolate tasted like burnt rubber or that is has been sitting there since the turn of the century. The crew is not welcoming. I know these are difficult times and I really do normally enjoy this place, but this morning at the drive thru, two of the workers in the back had their masks pulled down with their noses out. Sure, they're probably young and it was an accident, but people would really feel much better about getting out if they could see that mask policies were being followed by everyone. I love donut delight but here's why I didn't give it 5 stars; They take my order at the drive thru intercom but when I approach the window to pay, I have to repeat the order all over again. It never fails! 9xs out of 10, they repeat my order back to me at the window and it's incorrect or they will ask, "what did you order?". Um, I just ordered at the intercom. Why do I have to repeat it again? The quality of food is good. They just need to get their ordering system organized. read more

I can't not understand why people work the over night shift if they are not going to be happy or at least bear minimum polite. I just left got home after geting out of my bed and driving for a late nights snack I placed my order cinnamon raisin TOASTED BAGEL with SCALLION CREAM CHEESE 3 time I said it he said the toaster isn't working at this time, (which I doubt it because it's never not working) I said ok that's fine just a cinnamon raisin bagel with SCALLION CREAM CHEESE. I pull up he says nothing no hi how are you Nope nothing so I say hi can I also get a Snapple he rolls his eyes shrugs his face and says $4.89. I get home the bagel isn't cut in half and I have a ball of REGULAR CREAM CHEESE not spread out evenly. I call no answer. I'm not going back I have work in the morning and then to go tell him he Took my order wrong which was a bagel with scallion cream cheese I mean its Ridiculous I can't express how many times this has happened so frustrating. I would like to revise my review of Donut Delight because I really judged this place harshly when I first discovered them. Some of my complaints at the time were legit, particularly about service. This is specifically about the Elm St location. So in the last few months I've decided to give them another try and I have to say that things have been better. Since they are hustling in the morning, things are fresh and the staff is on the ball, and they do have quite a line at the drive-thru. I prefer to go inside because I get my stuff quicker this way naturally. They have awesome croissants, almond(my fave) or chocolate and the coffee and chai latte is good and hot. They have grown on me, converted me into a lover, not a hater. I still wish they would have more creative flavored doughnuts but they have changed my opinion. So I will give them that. ---------------------------------------------------------- I recently moved to the Stamford area and this place is right down the street from me. I was kind of disappointed to see that they have the EXACT same selection as Dunkin. I am so tired of the same doughnut flavors. They have no signature flavors of their own. The only difference with theirs is that their doughnuts don't have that distinct "taste" that DD doughnuts and coffee has. I don't know, call me crazy but if you are going to compete with a mediocre, sub-par, doughnut chain that has been around for 30+ years you might want to do things a little differently. Their staff has difficulty with the simplest of orders. First time I went there(during the day on a weekend), I asked for 1/2 dozen doughnuts the guy behind the counter at first grabbed the right box and then stopped what he was doing and started prepping a big box for a dozen. I had to correct him. Then I ordered a black coffee with sugar, this was a difficult task for him as well. I went in there tonight and chose two doughnuts from the limited selection left and then ordered two onion bagels, plain. The guy behind the counter was seriously going to put my onion bagels in the same bag as my doughnuts, and I had to actually ask him if he intended to put ONION BAGELS in with my doughnuts, he just kind of laughed sheepishly. By the way, the bagels are hard as rocks. I don't think that even putting them in the toaster is going to make them edible and I paid 1.98 each. Dunkin is right down the street, they are 24/7 as well and they had a hell of a lot more donuts when I walked out of Donut Delight last week at 2:00am because I didn't like their selection. I keep doing this to myself quite frankly because I guess I keep telling myself that they are just having off days. Seems like everyday is an off day for this place. This place destroys Dunkin Donuts! Quality and very clean. I had a job contract in the area for a few months and would stop in just about every morning for some donut goodness! Also, the Latino lady working the early drive-thru window (who kinda has a soft raspy voice) is a sweetheart! You can tell she's a good woman. It was hard not to give this place 5 starts but an honest review is an honest review. That being said, the reason I didn't give 5 stars is location. The intersection where Donut Delight is located gets pretty bad after 9am. That on top of the drive-thru's consistency makes for some unfortunate wait times. Went through the drive thru at 6:30am this morning and only had to wait about 5 minutes. Granted, their drive thru is very short, so I was waiting in the street for a little bit. I ordered 2 chorizo, egg, and cheese on hard rolls as well as a large iced coffee with almond flavoring, soy milk, and stevia. The breakfast sandwiches are the best in the area. Hot, fresh, and flavorful. I love the assortment of breads you can get it on - rolls, sandwich bread, bagel, croissant, etc. I'm not a huge coffee drinker but really needed one today. I have to say, this coffee is perfect. No bitter aftertaste, no chemical taste. The almond flavoring is smooth and exactly what it sounds like. I'm a huge fan of the alternative milks - soy, almond - since I'm lactose intolerant. The biggest plus for me is that they have stevia! I can't find that in any other chain coffee place. Overall great quality. The woman at the drive thru was extremely helpful and nice. read more

On weekends when driving around and busy, it's easy to pop into a drive thru and get food. But after the 5th or 6th time of this location screwing up my order, I'm done. The staff is rude and completely unable to go down a list of orders to see what food belongs with each guest. Today when I got to the window I was ask what my order was. She walked away, came back listing a different order. I just nicely said actually it's this. She hands me something, I drive away to notice that my order - not correct. And this had happened almost every time I've gone. Wrong bagel. Wrong coffee. Breakfast sandwich instead of something else. Coffee tastes like it's a different flavor. Enough is enough. Hire competent staff and get orders correct. read more

Anytime I'm in Stamford in the morning, I skip Dunkin Donuts and head for Donut Delight. The drive through can have a decent wait, but there's always parking and service inside is very fast. This is the noisiest place to be before 7am and after 10pm, it halts regular traffic with the drive thru, bikers revving engines, people outside being loud and making noise. I live opposite one of their locations and I think the 24hour operations should be shut down to allow the local neighbors some peace and quiet in the evenings. If the owner wants to reach out I'm happy to discuss with him directly So the closing of the outside terrace worked like a charm. NOT now people sit near their cars and bikes revving and grandstanding for all to see and hear. Why do we a need coffee shop open so late it's not a bar. Before leaving my job in Harbor Point, I'd rush to get a coffee here before my 8AM shift starts. The line for the drive thru is ridiculous but if you're not lazy or are physically capable of walking in you get your breakfast really quick. The staff is so friendly, so much more efficient than the Dunkin Donuts in the area. I can hardly even compare the 2. One man at this Donut Delight always asks me how I am and wonders if I'm getting the same order (large coconut ice coffee with milk). The best coffee store option around. It's the only quick service place that has an egg sandwich with an actual egg, not a pre-formed puck. Sandwiches are great, coffee is great as are the donuts.
