My mom opted for the hot buttered lobster roll with fries, I had the wagu hanger steak and fries, mom loved her lobster roll it was succulent i stole a piece, wagu was tasty kinda of tough but i also had a spicy tuna roll and lobster bisque so my palet was full, service was attentve per usual, staff always friendly, I hope to catch a seat outdoors before the weather changes. I'm stilling dreaming of the gnocchi! The Parmesan white truffle sauce so good it literally melted in my mouth. We went on a Saturday night to celebrate my cousin who is getting married. The vibes were perfect after our yacht party and was located conveniently right next to Harbor point. There was about 9 of us and I did not hear one complaint! Our server was very friendly and accommodating and Jimmy was great entertainment and very hospitable to our party. Me and a couple of the girls shared some bites including the special ceviche offered, the Japanese wagyu meatballs, the shrimp tornado roll, the burrata and tomato salad, the bacon Brussels and of course like I mentioned my favorite gnocchi! When our family went to Prime Stamford restaurant celebrating my wife's birthday this Friday for lunch, we had an amazing experience! The view was beautiful because the restaurant was overlooking the water and there was a dock with many boats. Also the food was amazing especially the dessert. My family ordered spicy tuna rolls, steak frites, salmon, Crème brûlée, and s'mores sundae. Lastly the service was nice and the manager, Jimmy was super nice and so was our server! Great place to have a drink in Stamford. I enjoyed their lychee martini. They have a gorgeous wrap-around bar with plenty of seating. The restaurant overlooks the water, so you get beautiful views of boats along the docks. There's also a large parking lot, which makes parking a breeze. I've heard the restaurant is usually packed, but it was pretty quiet on a Sunday evening. read more

As a long islander finding myself in Stamford, I had to try the sister restaurant of the Prime in Huntington, and truth be told, this Prime is better when it comes to the food. I told the waiter, whom was very friendly, to let the kitchen know, that the steak that I order was done perfectly, and we liked the food better than the location in Huntington. However, the view in Huntington wins, as you can look into the bay, which I feel is nicer than the docks, but it's a small detail. Obviously expensive since this is an upscale restaurant, but I did enjoy my experience here. My Fiancee however did not like the Wellington, the crust was soggy instead of crunchy and the filet was underwhelming, so loss of star there. read more

Great steakhouse in Stamford. The Wagyu Filet Mignon was so good it melted in my mouth but had those crunchy burnt bits on the end that were so tasty. I'm an oyster lover and these were the best oysters I've had, very good and very plump. We tried the escargot special and it was amazing! Buttery and in a puff pastry shell. The star for me was the Japanese Cowboy Roll (sushi). Basically a surf n' turf sushi roll, with delicious filet mignon sliced on top. Our waitress was very nice and took care of us, and the manager even swung by when he heard we had a birthday in the party, which was a nice touch. Also, they didn't sing which was appreciated. Location, location, location. This place has a gorgeous patio overlooking the marina... you will love the vibe. We went on Friday Juneteenth for lunch at 12:45 and needed to wait a while for a table, probably because of the holiday? We sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of sparkling wine while we waited. We waited about :30 and then were escorted to a table (not under the cupola or with an umbrella) and said "no, thanks!" We went back to the bar and waited a while longer for a table in the shade. We were finally seated, but they said they'd bring over our ice bucket with the rest of the bubbly, and it took us asking twice. We ordered sparkling water and asked for lemon three times. We all ordered the prix fixe lunch - the presentation of the chowder was elegant but it was lacking flavor. The French dip didn't have much flavor either -- and didn't come with the au jus until we asked for it. The chicken paillard was also somewhat lackluster. Overall, the service was simply S-L-O-W. The check wasn't correct (double charged us for a glass of wine) and we didn't get out of there until 3:30 p.m. If we'd been prepared for a leisurely afternoon by the water, sure... but one person in our party had to be somewhere at 4:00, so it added stress to the day. Two hours and forty-five minutes is a looonnnnggg time for lunch. So... make a reservation, and don't make any other plans for the rest of the day. Enjoy the view! read more

Been going to Prime for many many years. Prime is primed out. Prime used to be the place where the waiter knows exactly what you ordered and place it nicely in front of you without asking who ordered what. I used to love this quiet white table cloth dining with great service. A place to go for a fancy elegant night out. Saturday evening was now where you could barely hear what your friend is saying across the table and could barely hear the specials from the waiter. Wait staff is somewhat attentive hard to find when you needed him. They are super busy serving too many tables of diners jammed into one place. One of the side dish was missed and not delivered. My beloved beef Wellington that i order there was different, tasty but lack that amazing crust of how it used to be. I don't care much for the way overpriced sushi rolls on the menu. You can get rolls else where for cheaper. Bathroom was dirty. Needless to say this place has turned into a different scene. I wouldn't skip it if you like lively vibe and good people wathcing. The bar was very crowded. The restaurant is situated near water inlet boat docks facing Harbor point apartments. There's plenty of parking. It's good week day sunny lunch spot where it's not so loud and has outdoor seating. It was busy so people must still love this place. Now, that said, the food is consistently EXCELLENT. Everything I've had there, including last night has been delicious. BUT....it is EXPENSIVE and the menu has recently become more 'focused" with your choices skewing to ever pricey alternatives. (Ex. The cheapest steak is a Tellers Delmonico @ $68 and it's easy to miss because it's not listed with the steaks!). Last night, 3ppl, with 2 cocktails and 1 glass of wine, shared appetizers, and the check was almost $400 with tip...And while I like to take my time, it took over 90 mins for our entrees to arrive... Went to Prime for my daughters bday. They each got a gift certificate for $25. Little did we know all the restrictions that came with it. Can't use Fri, Sat, Sun, and can't use 2 at once. My daughters didn't realize this, had 4 drinks on a Friday ($85) and then couldn't use the gift certificates. Very bad PR. And this was after spending hundreds on their bday dinner. Lobster wontons were pretty solid. It was nice and flavorful and it had a nice crispy exterior. It wasn't deep fried so it didn't overpower the taste of the filling. I got the lobster roll and was also very nice. Lobster was super fresh and the sauces accompanied it quite well. It wasn't super heavy and you can really taste the lobster. The fries were meh - weren't the best fries I ever had but it's ok. At least they were crispy and not soggy LOL. My bf got the ny strip and he said it was super tender / melt in your mouth and the cook was spot on. The only thing was it was severely underseasoned. He had to season every piece LMAO. We came here Thursday night before the Memorial Day weekend and it was so packed!! This place is fun, loud, lively, with a great view of the harbor. The best seats are definitely by the window! We had delicious food and were so full that we could not squeeze in dessert. Too bad!! The wine list has a lot of choices and the cocktails are interesting and strong. We started with a Caesar salad (to decrease the guilt of what is coming) and the caramelized figs...so yummy!! Then we had the crab cake which is one of the best I have ever had! It barely had any breading or coating and was full of big chunks of crab. DE-lish!! Then we had the dry aged NY strip cooked medium with Mac n cheese (meh), brussel sprouts (loved), and asparagus (meh-the ends were hard and should have been removed before cooking). As I was looking around at the other diners, the seafood tower looked appealing. We weren't in the mood for that and wanted to taste a bunch of items instead. It's a pricey place but cool. The overlook of the water and boats docked is beautiful. The ambiance is great for a Sunday brunch, late date with your partner, or even to bring your kids. We came here in a pinch just being in the area , very casual and with children and they still welcomed us . Live band . The service was phenomenal. We had Thomas as our waiter who's recommendations were spot on. Anything he said I ordered and was not disappointed. The manager came over to greet us and got the time to get to know us because it's as our first time. Went here a few years ago and was enjoyable though it was on a weekday and the prices were more reasonable. My recent experience on a Saturday evening felt rushed, unwelcoming, and not pleasant. Though when we arrived the restaurant was still only half full, they sat us next to a family with small children who were climbing over their seats. I asked if we could be seated elsewhere and they said all the other tables were taken. There were large groups that were noisy and taking pictures of themselves all evening. Not an enjoyable evening for a date night! The food was good put entree portion of halibut was small and hardly any veggies. We had to order dessert as we were both hungry after having a sushi roll appetizer and meals. Had a good time celebrating a friends birthday. My 14 oz filet mignon was warm on arrival. It was extremely busy, I heard over 250 people and far more expected! I ordered it medium with char. My first impression was that it was too dry - perhaps I only needed to request medium (no customizations next time). I still enjoyed it immensely and every slice thereafter was rewarding. First, the place is pristine, clean & visually appealing inside. The welcome was warm & the bartender was on point with every aspect of good service. Now the bad. The lobster bisque ($16) was terrible - I didn't detect any Sherry at all & there were more potato chunks than lobster pieces in there...is lobster bisque supposed to have potatoes at all? (No, I'm from Boston). The sushi was good, but the rice fell apart making it difficult to eat with chopsticks. I get that things have been hard on the food industry & we have higher prices for everything, but they had a special of crab-stuffed lobster...for $109. A 10-oz petit filet for $58, $18 Caesar salad with no protein and top that off with $42 for charcuterie...really? Don't get me wrong, I've had $400 lunch tabs with only two people, but this place is ridiculously priced. Won't be stopping back on our next trip, sorry, not worth it. read more
