On our way up to see the in-laws, we made a pit stop at a Starbucks. As we pulled into the driveway I saw a small local donut shop, the Donut Factory Yogurt. Knowing how predictable the treats at Starbucks were I decided to try this place out. Although the yogurt machines seemed to be temporarily out of service, my main focus was on the donuts. Although not a huge selection, the options they provided were fresh and tasty. The custard filled chocolate was good but the cruller (maple and chocolate variety) were even better. We stopped by to grab some breakfast items since Starbucks had no breakfast sandwiches. They are in the same parking lot. They had a huge assortment of donuts. I ended up getting a chocolate custard filled, red velvet, and maple crueler. All were pretty good, solid donuts! Amazed at all the varieties available. I'm not sure why there are hardly any reviews for this place. It's a gem in the rough! I also got a ham, cheese & egg croissant, and a spinach & cheese pastry. Delicious!!! I took a chance and I'm so glad I did! It hit the spot! All for under $13 is a steal IMO. I would definitely come back again if in Tulare. Apparently they have fro yo here but machine is out of order. Must try for donuts or breakfast on the go! Great find! read more

My sister brought home a glazed maple bar that was absolutely delicious. I don't know why she thought she could cut one of those pieces into three to share with my mother, myself and her because that was a tease.... 20 minutes later we're down at the shop buying our own and had the croissant with the ham, cheese and jalapeños- absolutely deliciousness. Great location, and great customer service. The lady at the counter today was extremely nice and helpful considering she was all by herself. So why the 4 stars? I didnt really like the donuts, usually I go back for more than 1..but I only had 1, and donuts are my weakness. the girl working was rude . I asked if donuts were chewy and she gave me a wide eyed look like how dare I even ask. then she said idk the were just made. I asked to try one she acted upset about that too. I was gonna get two dozen but after trying one I only got a dozen because they sucked they were chewy and not crunchy like a fresh glazed donut hole. definitely a day or two old. and then the worst part was the price 3.98 for a dozen donut holes. Nice clean little mom and pop donut shop. I purchased a twisted chocolate covered donut and it was pretty good. It was very fresh, not greasy or crusty, and the chocolate frosting was pretty good, too. There was a pretty wide selection of donuts in the case and all of them looked good visually, no cracking on the glaze or other blemishes. My bar style donut was only $.99. Guess what? It's also a frozen yogurt shop! There were three frozen yogurt machines at the rear of the shop under a sign that says "yogurt bar" that held six different frozen yogurt flavors, with the names of the flavors posted right on the machines. There was a french vanilla, a yellow cake batter, a Hawaiian something or other, and a creamy coconut. There was a toppings bar with Ghirardelli brand toppings, chocolate covered marshmallows, crushed heath bars, and little m&m's among other things, though we didn't notice whether there were any fresh fruit toppings or not. Mom picked out a creamy coconut yogurt which was very good with a rich flavor to it and topped it off with hot fudge. There are plenty of tasting cups if you can't make up your mind which flavor to get. There were a number of different drink options to accompany your donuts including coffee, soda, and Big Train iced blended coffee drinks. Mom ordered the mocha ice blended coffee drink but had them combine it with the caramel. We both agreed it needed more taste to it as it was kind of bland. They accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. I don't know who the genius was that thought of combining a donut shop with a frozen yogurt shop but I think they should be canonized or at least conferred an honorary knighthood. This place has way better donuts than the other place near Vallarta's.. the dough is light and airy and they don't skimp when it comes to the chocolate and maple topping but they don't make regular glazed chocolate with nuts and those are the ones I prefer. The only donuts with nuts is the cake variety and I don't care for those because they are dense and dry. Plus the donuts with nuts never have a good amount of nuts as you can see in the pictures. The apple fritters are bomb but sometimes they seem a little undercooked in the middle. This is a pretty busy shop so stop by before 9:30 if you like the popular donuts as they sell out fast. Drinks are pretty expensive so I'd buy at the gas station or next door to save $.. overall this is a pretty solid donut shop with a good variety if you go at the right time. read more

This place is always nice and clean. They have a lot of tables if you decide to eat here. But I always take my donuts to go. The gentlemen that work here are so nice and I just love that! They seem very genuine so that's a plus. The donuts with pink frosting and sprinkles are awesome. They are moist and the frosting taste like strawberries. I also had the chocolate glazed donut but to me didn't seem like it was glazed, just had chocolate on the top. But it was still okay. Whenever I'm in Tulare I try to come here for a donut or two.
