The Donut Hole was just ok for us. There is usually a line at these...one is supposed to be for just donuts and one for the restaurant part. Nobody seems to know the difference and people form one line. We had to wait for people who didn't know what donuts to get after waiting in line for about 10 minutes, you should know by now. I felt bad for people working here. We ordered an old fashioned cake donut, a raspberry jelly filled, and a Dutch crumble. The donuts are just ok, nothing special, on the cheaper side at least. We looked for a seat inside, but it was very hot inside the restaurant, so we just sat outside. Lines are typically long so you can expect to wait a while. Huevos Rancheros is all I've ever ordered from here, and the dish is just "okay." It'd be better with a flour tortilla instead of a corn one; some skillet potatoes rather than burnt hash browns; lettuce included and an actual serving of sour cream rather than the slightest teaspoon that looks like it was dropped by mistake. The kitchen should also drain the chorizo rather than flooding the dish with its grease. From what family and friends have ordered and commented, this place has great eggs and prepares them well, the bacon is delicious, the pancakes are huge, and you should check out their "Specials" chalkboard menu posted throughout the restaurant too as these items change. Don't forget the donuts and maybe even a t-shirt as you pay at the front for your meal(s)! read more

Went here thinking my boyfriend and I were dining in for breakfast, only to realize how long the line was (and how impatient my boyfriend is), so we ended up getting take-out. We walked right in and ordered within a few minutes. We ended up getting a half dozen donuts, a western omelette, and scrambled eggs with bacon and hashbrowns. The donuts were AMAZING. We definitely should have ordered more. As for the meal, it was average- although my boyfriend claims they had the best biscuits and was extremely happy that they gave us some extras. Great Spot for early risers. It gets busy after 8:30 am. The breakfast portions are more than you should eat. The donuts are my kids favorite. The cake and sour cream, I believe are better than the regular donuts. The omelets are at least three eggs. The bacon is worth the wait. It is a thick cut cooked to crisp perfection. Try the sausage gravy with your biscuits and you won't regret it. Great location for families with kids. Weekend Breakfast Review- My party of 6 came in on the Saturday morning after thanksgiving before 9 AM (hoping to beat the rush) and there was a line out the door. It was chilly so a couple of us went in and ordered coffee- definitely a good way to endure the line, and the coffee is bottomless. There was also a separate line for donuts in case you need to tide yourself over, and it's best to get the donuts early as they run out quickly. We were probably seated within 45 minutes to an hour. Our server seemed a little frazzled and was not too friendly. We ordered a half dozen donuts to start, but she did not actually go get them until we reminded her, worried that the ones that we wanted would already be out. Also, two people ordered the Cubans- an odd breakfast, but apparently is delicious- but the server came back maybe 5 minutes later saying they were out. Interesting, since it was not even lunch yet. They probably should have taken it off the special board. She was also slow on the refills. Despite those mishaps, the food was delicious. I was difficult and ordered a Benedict but substituted sausage patties for the ham and biscuits for the English muffin. So tasty! The hash browns are also just how I like them, and plentiful. I was stuffed for hours. The donuts were also tasty. The blueberry cake ones are where it's at. Overall, I would return but on a slower morning. read more

I stood in the counter area at Donut Hole and no one talked to me, asked me to be seated, or anything. I turned around and left. Food was ok. Tried twice for dine in breakfast. Biscuits weren't good for the biscuits and gravy. The seafood omelet was ok. I think if it had some sort of sauce or something it would've been better. Donuts are good, we have come here at least 5 times just for donuts, because our kids love the treat. My kids favorites are the blueberry donuts and the chocolate angels. I can overlook the food issues and just try different menu options, the main reason for the review is that- The waitstaff/cashiers are not friendly. One person at the donut counter is particularly UNFRIENDLY she seems to work the donut counter often. It's a shame. Cute place. My kids love getting donuts here and playing on the green space. To be fair, we did have one friendly waitress...but of the multiple times we have visited over the last 2 months it's just disappointing and makes us less likely to return as often. We stopped in for an early 5:00 dinner with two small children. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. The waitress was super friendly and really catered to our kids. My husband had the Belgian waffle. He said it was great. I had the sweet potato pancakes with praline sauce-- enough for two. It was a huge serving. My son had the kids pancake with chocolate chips-- it was as big as his plate. He said it was better than IHOP pancakes! This is high praise considering that's his only frame of reference. We rocked in the awesome porch rockers on our way out while our oldest played some corn hole. It started to fill up about 6 pm. Great place for an early dinner with kids. They also had actual dinner options. We just chose to all order breakfast for dinner. We will be back again. read more

I wanted to love Donut Hole but it was simply disappointing on many levels. Thoughts: - Not COVID Safe. My God, the lack of social distancing in here made my friends so uncomfortable! This place was PACKED on a Saturday morning and folks lined up outside were not keeping a minimum of 6ft distance and there was no staff enforcing it. Inside the establishment customers were not practice social distancing and people walked around without wearing masks. - Donuts were just okay. Nothing about the donuts my husband and I tried were great. Possibly even a bit stale? I've been to far better and more creative donut shops. And the coffee? Guys... my standards for coffee are pretty high and man the coffee here was just bad. - The food was just okay. My husband and I ordered the Super Egg Sandwich and it tasted like something we could've made at home. It was greasy and lacked any creativity. I'm not sure who these people are saying "food was excellent". Clearly they don't go out to eat at nice places often. I unfortunately do not recommend coming here. Save the trip and the calories for a better meal. read more

Gotta do the Donut Hole. Seriously, if you're visiting the Panama City Beach (PCB) area it's like a local cultural and social attraction. Pies, cakes, cheesecakes, cupcakes, various other pastries ... and donuts. (Tip: get the chocolate covered peanut butter cream filled donut - if you don't mind eating peanut butter frosting). They also have diner-like food, which is your basic diner quality. Stick to the basics - the French toast is more reliable than the Crab Benedict, for example. I think every local who lives this side of PCB comes here for breakfast. Clearly many regulars here, but the friendly staff will make you feel like a regular on your first visit. Came here for breakfast on last day of our beach trip. We had an awful experience the previous day at a donut truck so was just praying this place at least had better donuts. Walked in and lines were long so that was a good sign. The donuts looked really good and they had some interesting varieties. We got seated in a long both and I ordered a coffee, cinnamon donut, key lime filled powdered donut and chocolate glazed. My son had two cinnamon donuts, my honey had a vegetarian omelette, and little princess had a pancake. All three of my donuts were really good! 5 stars just on those alone. The cinnamon donut was layered with so much cinnamon that the donut didn't even have a hole, and it was fluffy and perfectly moist. The glazed chocolate was really good and the powdered key lime filled was yum! It was filled nicely and had a ton coming out with every bite. My coffee was a 3, ok. I had a bite of the pancake, which was huge for a child's size, and it was very fluffy and had excellent taste with no syrup. The biscuits and grits weren't that great that my honey had as sides, def a 2 there. The waiter did a fantastic job of refilling drinks and checking up on us. A sure 5 right there.
