This place is a very very old school donut dive. A must try as far as the donuts are concerned. Huge and tasty.

Best donuts around by far! This is a legit, old school donut shop with a counter that all the neighborhood old-timers sit and shoot the breeze. The donuts are as big as your face, not that puny crap Dunks tries to pass of as a donut and the coffee is pretty good too. Donuts are awesome! Classic flavors (plenty of them), gigantic, and fresh. Prices are good (I bought a dozen for $11), but be forewarned they sell out early and they're a cash only establishment. Removed one star because of this- I get that Donut King is banking on the nostalgia factor, but this shouldn't be part of it! It's 2018, get a damn credit card machine. read more

Honey dip donuts are TO DIE FOR. Customer service is exactly the greatest but it's like a little hole in the wall place with some bomb donuts and the service is at least better than dunks so I'll take it. But you have to get there SUPER early to get any of the good donuts read more

This place may or may not be your preference. Their donuts go for 10.99 a dozen and are huge - about 1.5 times the size of a Dunkin Donut. However, they are more dry, cakelike, and even crunchy than your regular commercial donut. read more

I discovered this place a few weeks ago and the donuts are really good. Unfortunately their service is horrible. It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review for a small business but I went this morning and they proceeded to let me stand there while they waited on other customers instead of me even though I had been there first. When I pointed that out they didn't seem to care and they were rude. Apparently they make so much money selling donuts that they don't care about providing good customer service. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I did not try the donuts due to the extremely rude woman who helped us. We walked in and were getting our bearings when a woman approached and asked if we needed help. It sounds all good, except for the fact that she yelled at us more than asked and turned to her co-worker and proceeded to yell at her too - about us. I told her that I was still looking, at which point she points to my boyfriend and says "What about you - do you need help" still sounding bothered to have to deal with us at all. He chuckled and proceeded to ask a couple of questions about the donuts. The woman responded as if it was criminal to ask a question. At that point I'd had enough. If it is bothersome for us to patronize your business - patrons we will not be! And with that - we left. read more

By far the best donuts I've ever had! These are baked on site and are super fresh and HUGE! Great selection to choose from, I love the Boston Creme and Chocolate Coconut best but haven't had one yet I didn't like. Really good flavored coffee and friendly staff that remembers everyone. I am someone who needs coffee and a snack before work, on a daily basis. This is just part of my routine. I started out going to Dunkies, then it was Starbucks, then it was Coffee Break. All good places. But none of them compare to Donut King. And it's clear that I am not the only one who thinks so, seeing as some days I go in for my donuts and coffee and there's little left to choose from! With that said, I have now requested from my faithful donut gals, that they set a few aside so I don't miss out! Call me cray, but the honey dip/glazed, whatever you want to call them, are just TO DIE FOR! Tons of crispy glaze, super soft donut, on ya, I am in trouble!!! I have also tried other delicious items like their turnovers, cookies, lemon puffs (another fan favorite, however, they are a specialty item and have not been around for awhile (insert sad face here!). But nonetheless, I love Donut King. The staff is super friendly, the donuts are delish, and the coffee is the best of the places I have frequented! Highly recommended! read more

These are some of the best donuts I have ever tasted. The honey dew is light and airy, melt-in-your-mouth, with a wonderful glaze. The honey-dipped is a more dense, cake-like donut with the same light,sweet glaze. The chocolate used for the donuts must be cocoa because it brings a wonderful, not-too-sweet taste to the twists and choclate honey dipped donuts. Half a dozen for $4.99 and drinkable coffee. This place is a gem. As for the guy who was ordering a bacon and egg sandwich that took some time so he nixed them half a star...it's a donut shop! Order the DONUTS...duh! read more

After eating Donut King's donuts, you'll realize how inferior Dunkin' Donuts really is. Their donuts are big, cakey, and delicious. They have a great selection of coffee flavors which are very reasonably priced, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Don't miss this if you're in Quincy and have a sweet tooth. read more

Good place, I try to limit my visit to once every 6 months. One tip is that if you wake up late and they sell out, head over to Montilio's on Adams St. or stop there first - they get a dozen or so every day from Donut King, I think to sell and usually have them still into the afternoon. read more

Terrible customer service. We came here at 10:30 on a Sunday - they were completely out of donuts, laughing at the fact when we got up to the counter. If your name is Donut King, you should probably have donuts for sale. They weren't even close to closing. I threw a 25 year service bash for my employee and everyone loved the food. I place the large order in on Tuesday night and they have it ready to go for me Thursday morning. This place is AWESOME! Sometimes, you just crave a donut, and this is the place to go when you do. The best part for me? They have marble crullers! Dunks stopped making them years ago and I was thrilled when I saw that they had them. They were a little heavy on the chocolate, light on the plain donut, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. The donuts are more of an old-fashioned style, which goes along with the decor inside, and they're fantastic. We've also tried chocolate butternut, honey dip, jelly honey dip and apple honey dip. After I ate my donut today I saw they had a black raspberry filled donut - will be back asap to try this one. Great flavored coffee too; the chocolate peanut butter is delicious. read more

5 stars for donuts, but I give this 3 powerful stars. I literally took two stars away based upon it being CASH ONLY, and how bad the coffee was. A friend of mine who happens to be a Quincy native spoke highly of the Donut "King", so a few of my friends tested it out. Little did they know that the early bird catches the worm at this place. They went later in the morning and to say they were disappointed would be a mere understatement. But hey, that's what life's all about. Learning lessons and tracking your movements. I have been a loyal Donut King customer for a couple years but the customer service I just witnessed today was appalling. A very nice older lady asked to use the bathroom and the lady working behind the counter said "no". She asked a second worker (obviously she really had to go). The second worked said "yes" and let her go into the bathroom. Then the two workers stand there arguing with one another of "I said no, you said yes" before taking my order. Then the one lady that originally said no stated, "What if she makes a mess? Who is going to clean it up? Not me". First of all... if someone is asking to go to the bathroom in this establishment (not the cleanest / nicest looking place around) then it must be an emergency. She also purchased something so it was not like she came in off the street. I just kept thinking what if this was my grandmother, or even me in that circumstance. To argue in front of customers, and embarrass the lady who was thankfully in the bathroom in front of other customers is not okay. I will never go back solely on the fact of how they treat their customers. read more

The coffee is good and donuts/baked items are big and good. Our problem is with the people running it- we've been there about 10 times, and they continually allow groups sitting at the counter to have loud, racist conversations- things like saying people who don't speak English should be dropped into volcanoes. Finally after hearing management again allow a conversation about "those Mexicans ruining social security and causing the debt problem" we have decided this isn't our type of place. I would never hold a business responsible for some off-the-cuff comment from a customer, but it does not sit well with me when they continually allow conversations like this- my wife and I have heard things like this almost every time we've been there. It's a small place and the counter surrounds much of where the staff is.-it seems clear to us that they allow this, so we'll take our business elsewhere. read more
