Maybe my expectations were too high, but this was a really disappointing experience. I went for the chocolate glazed, but I got a half dozen to try other flavors. The coconut was ok. Bavarian cream had about 1 tablespoon of filling. Flavors were not there at all and the rest of the donuts aren't even worth mentioning by name. My son asked for a grasshopper and the woman behind the counter suggested that he try one of the donuts that kids normally enjoy. I don't expect a high level of service in a donut shop, but I do expect that my son be taken seriously and treated like a whole person if he asks for something. read more

The major dunk chain wasn't doing it for me, so I tried this local spot. There's definitely a decent selection of donuts and other confectionary items, and the location has ample parking. Glad I tried, but i likely won't be back. I got a dozen mixed to try a little of everything, and then picked a few things from the case. Nothing wowed, but it was all decent. My BIG hang-ups to not rate higher are sanitation and cross-contamination. I needed to use the restroom while I was waiting and it was a repulsive scene. After seeing that, everything felt dirty. Also, items that were very generously topped with candied nuts (to the point of falling onto neighboring trays) worried me that anyone with even a mild nut already would get sick. Went in to order donuts, proceeded to ask what a specific donut was that did not have a label on it, his response, "obviously it's a glazed everyone has been asking that, it's just a different type of glazed donut." Donut pass Go! Go Directly to Donut King! If Donut King were jail in monopoly, I'd never use my get out of jail free card. The donuts here are old school classic donuts. And Fresh!!! My absolute favorite donut is the cream filled, chocolate iced. Simple yet delicious. Not the Boston cream, but the vanilla or whipped cream. They didn't have any of them on our visit, but since they were in the back filling other donuts, I had a fresh one made for me. If that doesn't scream excellent service, I don't know what does. Good timing on my part, but they totally just could have said they were out. I forget everything we stuffed in our giant yellow box, but it was way too much for 2 people. I've been going to Donut King for years, probably since they opened this particular location. It's always been solid over the years. However, it has become a little more hit or miss this last year or so. They don't seem to ever make enough blueberry or cinnamon raised donuts to have enough to last the first half of the day. The last few time there is a donut or two that had a oily not cleaned oil taste to it. But overall they're still very good. Bavarian Cream Eclair- The donut itself was solid, great texture and flavor. The chocolate had a nice bite to it, almost like it was darker than I was expecting. The cream wasn't filled all the way through, which was a bit of a bummer, but the end had a decent amount, and it was smooth and flavorful. Sticky Bun- This sticky bun was great, nice yeasty flavor to the dough without being overly hard or dry. The pecans and sticky had a great flavor and texture. I wish there was maybe something rolled more into the bun, but honestly, that's reaching. Blueberry Cake - These are my absolute favorite blueberry donuts in the CFL area and my favorite donut of theirs. The only issue I have with these are usually you can't get them . Cinnamon Sugar - These are my second favorite donuts here, great light airy yeast flavor, light Cinnamon sugar coating. What else could you want? Red Velvet Cake - There are the substitute when they don't have enough blueberry or cinnamon to complete a full dozen. This one looks weird because they were out, and the nice guy behind the counter offered to cream cheese frost one for me while I waited. But don't let the appearance fool you. Donut King in Clermont is amazing, so I decided to stop into this one assuming I'd get the same great donuts and great service. WRONG! I come about 40 minutes before their posted closing time. The Open sign is lit up and there are 3 staff in there. I can also see there are about 3 or 4 dozen delicious looking donuts there. I go to the counter and the guy says, "we're closed." I asked, "I thought you closed at 9pm." His response, "well not today, today we closed early." No explanation, no apology, just rude. So, I decide to sit in the parking lot. I watched several others go in and get the same treatment. Then I saw an uber eats person drop off some food. Two of the three take the food and head to the back. I guess there wasn't an issue, they just closed early because they were tired of working and wanted to eat. Whatever, won't be stopping here again. read more

I just remember that the other Donut King donuts just tasted like sugar with no flavor. This stopped me from trying them again however, my fiancé is a really big fan of donuts so we stopped into this location after getting our Chinese food. First impression, wow! Look at all these donuts! Second impression- wow it's hot in here. I was impressed with the amount of donuts that they had. My Mami asked for some donuts this weekend, and I remembered DK was close to my home, so I popped in for the first time. Gad previously had one or two when working at our call center, and a coworker brought a couple of boxes in. When I looked at the selection, I decided in some that didn't have a crazy amount of sugar because they would've been frowned upon by my parents. OK so apparently this is the best kept secret in Orlando and I just found out about it ~when I went to a meeting at the Orlando realtor real estate Association. One of the guys treated us and brought in multiple boxes of these most adorable, colorful, edible, fun, yummy donuts. My favorites are the Boston Cream and Blueberry. The Apple Fritter (they sellout quick) is a must if available. They have fun flavors/toppings which my boys love, such as fruity pebbles, sour patch kids, nerds and more.
