Would give their coffee another try in future. The pastries were amazing though. The lemon bar - perfection. The brunch braid was okay - I liked the concept but I don't know if I'd get it again. Then came for lunch. Had a chunky monkey smoothie - it was a little watery in the middle but still delicious. The cranberry walnut chicken salad on sourdough was exactly what I was craving. And that sourdough - so good! The place itself is really cute and they sell some local items. There's a blind date with a book section and they sell Hoppy Pop (which is incredible). Sometimes a little long in the tooth. -- Cakes: That's their claim to fame, and for good reason. They're more expensive than most, but so dense, rich, and heavy that a small slice goes a long way. My favorite is the chocolate raspberry decadence (pool of raspberry atop a deep, dark chocolate frosting). Or maybe the strawberry snowflake, which is like the best strawberry shortcake you ever had. -- Cupcakes: These often feature some of the same ingredients as the cakes, such as that killer chocolate ganache. Great for the toppings and fillings, though the cake part (especially if chocolate base) is often dry. -- Cookies: Noticeably less impressive, EXCEPT for the Linzer heart. Great flavor and texture in the raspberry and shortbread. -- Coffee: Good stuff. Not elite, but good, in heavy mugs with good feel. Service is a little lacking. It might be because I usually drink coffee that has a lot of character to it. It could be sweet, chocolatey, citrus, etc. This coffee just tasted bland and I am pretty good at differentiating the flavors because I normally drink just black. This cafe is very spacious and would be a great place to work from. I would definitely work here remotely if it was closer to home.
