I didn't actually get to purchase anything from here. I went in to get two separate boxes for two different places I was visiting for work. I asked if I could have six cinnamon rolls and six bear claws in assortments, 6 in each box. (They are huge- so didn't seam like an unreasonable request) THE GIRL TOLD ME NO! She said the only time she does that is if your purchase included a lot of iced donuts. It was crazy to me. She lost an $20 sale and opportunity to be gifted to two different businesses in Chico all because she refused to give me a second .50 box. What really irks me is the unprofessionalism of the staff. The owner, Joey, doesn't give state mandated breaks and meal periods for 8 hr shifts. And this morning(8/13/15) one employee was yelling in the back. Apparently when the person she was yelling at left, the employee yelled out over the crowd "don't ever come back here!" while the dining room was full of customers! I've loved their donuts for as long as I can remember. I remember in junior high we could walk over and go buy a dozen donut holes. My roommate and I decided late last night to go on a donut run. We're asking the girl at the counter questions and I've never received so much attitude in my life. She rolled her eyes at us countless times. When we asked a question about the so donuts she responded "what you see is what you get". How rude. When we walked out, my roommate said "I really hope your night gets better". When we get in the car we can see her gossiping about it to her co worker. I give the donuts a 5 rating but the service a one. read more

I have to say, best donuts ever. Something about them just makes them so addicting and in the middle of the night, you will be laying in bed just thinking about their donuts. I have been going here for years now and never had a horrible experience. Just an amazing donut and maybe an upset stomach later from all the sugar, but other than that, they are literally amazing!! When I lived in Chico (20+ years ago) I loved eating the Chocolate Chip Squares. I still make a special trip from Sacramento a couple of times each year to get one (or more) of these wonderful treats. I'm sure my heart and waistline don't like it, but my tummy sure does! read more

We love the Donut Nook! They have the best tasting donuts around. The staff are friendly, and the kids get a kick out of watching the donuts being made behind the glass window. These are definitely not your grocery store donuts ;) so soft, and sweet! My favorite is the buttermilk bars, the best! Another plus is that they are always open, and you can swing by any time of day or night to pick up some of the best donuts you will ever have. read more

After my 3 year old had a rough night due to falling and getting a large scratch, I decided to take him to donut nook for a sprinkle doughnut before school. We were running late for school, but we love donut nook usually and figured it was worth it. When we got there, there was a huge line (a pain with a 3 year old). Then we were greeted with the owner yelling over the top of other customers being helped (I couldn't even tell he was talking to me). Then I ordered several donuts and drinks, some togo, some for dine in. The total was around $7. They (for the first time ever) refused my atm card because of it being under a $10 limit; however we go there weekly/sometimes daily, and they always make an exception or just charge a couple dollars over and give us a coupon for next time! The owner Joe said "I'm the owner and I will not make an exception" Heartbreaking it would be to my 3 year old, I decided to leave everything else but the sprinkle doughnut until a man next to me insisted on paying for all of it (god bless him!!). We have done events here, ordered for clients, held different playgroups there etc. I am starting a bakery in town and would have loved to promote them. They make a heck of a donut, but the service experience I just received (a mom with full hands and a hopeful 3 year old being treated that way) was just appalling!! Also, when we were walking out to our car you could overhear the cashier girl talking about us rudely, the owner not doing anything about it. Very unprofessional and as a business woman I feel the need to let people know! We will never go back! FYI when we go as a family, or my husband goes alone, this never happens. I have countless atm transactions in my bank account for less than the min required, so they were picking and choosing who not to help. So maybe they don't like children, or moms, or women. Either way there are plenty of other great places in town, stay away from this one if you can!!!! read more

These donuts are amazing! I will start with that!! Fresh and delicious! I am only giving 4 stars because I was not pleased with the service I received. I called Friday 8/19, to order two dozen donut holes for my best friends baby shower we were having the next morning. The young girl who took my order was super friendly and courteous. Took my name and my number and I told her I'd be by around 9:30am, no problem she said. Well as anyone who has planned an event can attest, things can quickly spiral out of control. I was running horribly late with so many other things. In the hustle and bustle of the morning I was late to the store to grab my order, like super late, I admit. You can imagine my frustration when I get there and they've sold all but three of my order because I wasn't there. Gah! I take some responsibility too because yes, I should have called. But they took my number too, and it would have been super helpful if the owner who made the executive decision to sell my order could have called me and checked in. Or maybe if the young girl who took my order could have maybe dropped that little tidbit into the conversation that if you're late we may have to sell your order. Which makes sense, but had I known I could have planned better for that. But man, that was a huge surprise and a major disappointment. Instead I got a dozen glazed dounts which of course were a super delicious but the donut holes we surely missed. read more
