My favorite part was the food. My girlfriend loved the Chicken Saltimbocca, she says,"I love the sauce and how much of it they put on the plate one of the most flavorful style of potatoes I've ever had. The only thing is I wish the breading was a bit better on the chicken, but still a 10 out of 10 dish." I also admire their focus on sustainability, their seasonal menu, as well as their local partnerships. A combination of upscale but affordable and perfect for a date night. The copper accents are beautiful and the seating was comfortable. Unfortunately, it was super busy so I would recommend sitting outside for a more romantic and private ambience. My blackened salmon tacos were delicious and we cleaned off the plate within a handful of minutes. I really loved the pickled onions on the side and the crispy outside layer of the salmon pieces. It had been years since we visited the brewery and restaurant so decided to go for a tour and then have lunch. We were the only ones in our tour group so we had a nice personal tour. Our tour guide was very informative and we had the chance to go into a room where they had all of the hops (smelled amazing). We also so the bottling area. After the tour we got to taste 4 beers and she asked what styles we preferred so she could choose some for us. We also did a little shopping and got some of their India Pale Ale and some nice pilsner glasses. We then went to the restaurant for some lunch. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of flights along with a Lox Bialy and a Lamb Sandwich. The bartender was nice and checked on us often. The beers were good and food was good. A really large restaurant partially due to square footage but also really high ceilings. It feels spacious and I feel like it would still be a nice environment even if they were running near capacity. We went for a late lunch on a weekday and there was plenty of seating. The food: Brewer's Pizza - thin slice pizza with char on a nice bubbly crust. High quality toppings. Big Pretzel - slightly chewy outside, fluffy inside. It's up there as one of the best pretzels I've had. Beer cheese sauce is great and the three beer mustards are a fun thing to try. Fish and Chips - I snagged a bite from my kid, but this was fantastic. Super crispy crust and tender fish. Broccoli Mac & Cheese - snagged a bite from my other kid. It's got the creamy cheese and the cheesy cheese. Hits the spot. Elote Salad - what makes this dish is the fresh corn. Mixed greens and the different sauces make it flavorful. My only knock on the dish was a whole tostada in ours which wasn't the freshest. Shout out to our friendly server, Destiny, who got us everything we needed including plates for sharing even before we asked. Overall, the food is really good and probably the best quality when compared to other brewery restaurants. I didn't even talk about the main reason for coming here - beer. We made a pit stop here for lunch while driving through Chico, and it was well worth it! Sierra Nevada Brewery had been on my list for a while, and it definitely didn't disappoint. If you're on a brewery tour and find yourself hungry, the on site restaurant and taproom is also worth a visit! Located in the main building, you'll be greeted at the host stand right inside. It's a large dining room with old bar along the right side. They also have outdoor seating too. The menu is big, with lots of food and drink selections. We all ordered different things; the pretzel & beer cheese, and mezze platter were my highlights besides of course the beer. I've got to update my review from about 14 years ago! It took me a long time to come back, but I've now come here several times over the last several months. They have significantly improved and their food is almost always good. I believe they hired local chef, Ann Leon, which was a great choice on their part. I love their online check-in which has made it feel like such a seamless VIP experience. Now, I put our names in, monitor the time online, and walk right up and get seated. This is now one of our go-to restaurants because of it's consistency. Food-wise, we often get one of their seasonal salads. I'll usually get their chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Fish and chips are very good. When they have fried brussels sprouts on their specials, get them! Very good. Their fries are so excellent that one time they came out cold and they were still good. I do think they have a flour coating, FYI for gluten free folks. The Hot Honey Pig pizza and the mushroom one are so good. Beer-wise, one of my favorite things is they will serve a half point at the actual half price! If a beer is $7, the half-pint is $3.50. I prefer low bitterness, and if you know anything about Sierra Nevada, they are big on the bitter IPA style, hoppy beers. I always look for the IBUs that are helpfully listed on each beer, and select only the lowest ones. Lately I've been getting the wildflower wheat, my fave. They do allow samples, which is wonderful because I would have gotten many a beer I would not like if I wasn't able to sample first. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and they have good outdoor seating on their patio that I enjoy when the weather is right. One place I try to avoid sitting is in the bar area. I have admittedly very sensitive hearing and it's very hard to hear our conversation because of how loud it is there. However, they do have acoustic panels and I can tell this is something they've considered overall, and it makes a big difference everywhere else in the restaurant. read more

I asked for extra lemon but no and no straw or spoon to stir sugar into tea. I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps...so bland. The pickled onions were so vinigar forward I couldn't eat them. The chicken was flavorless, noodles too. The siracha aoli was pedestrian. My companions had a ceaser salad with grilled salmon and salmon with smashed potatos. Both said it was fine. Dropped in here after coming out of the Trinity Alps on a challenging backpacking trip. What a sight for sore eyes (and feet)! We pretty much b-lined for Sierra Brewing as a layover on our way home. This place was great! We were quickly greeted/seated, and our first tasters arrived very quickly. The menu is a little narrow - pub focussed salads, sandwiches, and pizza, but there is a wide rang of offerings, and they usually have a few good specials as well. We split a beautiful salad, and each enjoyed separate entrees. I had a the fried chicken sandwich, and onion rings which were both excellent and abundant. My friend had a Cubano sandwich with fries -and it was quite tasty as well. We loved the wide range of special beers that don't get distribution. The facility was nice - and I had just visited the one in Asheville, NC as well - and the family resemblance was clear. This location is rather large, personally, I feel like it's one of the largest restaurants in the Chico area. It's clean and has many options to order. The service here is great, staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The food is good, fresh and tasty. Nothing crazy mainly burgers and pizzas but that's a perfect combo of your coming here to drink beer...hello! They do have a bar there where you can order food and apps from. Lots of beer options to chose from. If you're planning a big party or graduation dinner/lunch/brunch definitely make a reservation otherwise you will be waiting. Got here on a Monday around 7pm dinner time and only had to wait about 10min. Our server was Shane, and he was very helpful and attentive. The staff seem friendly. The taproom was busy and full of people but there was also some good empty spaces. We ordered a flight of beer and the $5beer of week pale ale that was *chefs kiss*. For food, we had the cowboy burger split in half- so much flavor and a nice kick with the jalepenos. We also ordered the brewers pizza- wood fire pizza and that also packed a flavor punch. Light and crisp Smash burger was ok. Flavor was good just a little overcooked. But that's how smash burgers go Salmon was ok. But the potatoes were amazing. The only thing disappointing was the hazy little butternut salad. The butternut squash was cut too tiny. And the candied walnuts were not good. Mostly because I don't like walnuts. Refueling after a hike in Oroville and been wanting to visit! Great customer service with large open spaces inside the restaurant . Large menu items, great portion size and reasonable price !! Unfortunately our food came out a bit cold! The burger was cooked medium rare the way we requested , juicy and flavored ! Fish and chips was a bit oily for us soaking some of the fries (they do have good salted fries ) but I do love the side salad really fresh ! Sitting here right now, and not too stoked on the experience from what is regarded as one of the most polished establishments in town. For reference, I spent 20 years in the business, in all positions from dishwasher to general manager. We arrived, told we would be seated right away and watched to parties walk in without a reservation and get seated in front of us. We are a 2 top, one of whom is 9 years old. Upon being seated, we were the first sat in our section, and the last table to be touched, as well as the last table to have its order taken. Additionally, my daughter received the incorrect drink. I met a friend for an early dinner before my son's soccer game at the university. She is from Chico so she recommended we meet at Sierra Nevada. I arrived a little earlier than her and was seated at a table. The server came over and offered me a drink. My friend arrived and we both knew what we wanted to order so our server took our order The food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the Fish N Chips and she got the Malted Balsamic Salad with Chicken. My dinner was tasty. There were only 2 pieces of fish and the fries weren't super crispy. The breading in the fish was great. I have always had fish n chips plates with 3 pieces of fish. For the price, I think there should have been 3. The salad was pretty hefty and looked tasty! I thought it would be louder in the restaurant, but we were able to have our conversation and it wasn't too bad. The restaurant was clean and open and bright. Now that my son is attending school in Chico I plan to explore as many restaurants as possible! When you you first walk into main dining area, it's enormous, and has just about everything done in wood. The place was bustling with a couple hundred diners and lots of staff roving the room. Visited May 17th. See receipt as always. Wow..love this place in Chico! They open at 11am and the line was forming fast!! They do take reservations but was unable to get one on open table so I got there early ( 1050am!) We sat up at the bar and we were served immediately. We are not big beer drinkers so we tried the beer sampler ( 4 beers). My fav was the Porter! We split the huge pretzel with some yummy beer cheese and it was warm and delicious! ( plus leftovers). We also split the smash burger and chips. The burger was perfect and the chips had a little spice to them which we really liked! ( more leftovers!) It was packed within a half hour due to large groups coming in for graduation. It's a fun atmosphere with friendly employees as well as friendly diners. Definitely a place to go to with friends! The bar is really pretty with stained glass. Good portions and a great menu to choose from. They also have regular tours ( for a fee) which I might do next time! They have indoor and outside seating. When you pair up one of California's (or even one of America's) top breweries with delicious comfort food, you get a winning combination at "Sierra Nevada Taproom & Restaurant". I have been a longtime fan of Sierra Nevada's signature beers including their well known "Pale Ale", "Torpedo", and "Hazy IPA" amongst others. But the restaurant deserves a lot of recognition as the food experience here is absolute fire. Located in the heart of Chico, this place is located on East 20th St. and only about 1/2 mile from CA Highway 99. They also offer an abundance of parking which was relatively easy to find, even during the start of the dinner rush. I came here with my lady during the afternoon of Sunday 3/9/2025 around 5:00pm as we decided to indulge in something hearty and filling before the trip back to Sacramento later that evening. Upon entry, we noticed there was quite a few people waiting to be seated. After providing my name and mobile number, our hostess said it would take about 10 minutes. She was correct as I got the text alert in about 8 minutes. The interior layout of this place is very large, open, spacious, and has that rustic cavernous type feel to it. There is a dedicated bar area, a huge window displaying the beer vats, and an outdoor patio area for the more comfortable Chico afternoons and evenings. As far as the beer menu, you simply can't go wrong since all of Sierra Nevada's draughts are brewed there on-site. They even carry a nice assortment of non-alcoholic options for the designated drivers. However, since I am reviewing the restaurant, I will focus solely on that. As I mentioned, this place primarily specializes in delicious, hearty comfort classics. Some of the small bites/appetizers include nachos, wings, and even salads for the more health conscious. And their main dishes include wood-fried pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, full entrees (that include pasta, steak, salmon, etc) as well as a kids menu and dessert menu. My lady and I decided on splitting an order of their "Pep Pep Spice" wood-fired pizza. Large enough to feed 2, this included house made ricotta, mozzarella, SNG herbs, balsamic onions, pepperoni, charred jalapeños, and garlic white sauce. I opted for a pint of their "Old Chico Light Lager" which was crisp, light, and refreshing. Our pizza arrives in around 12 minutes and was cooked to perfection. It had the perfect balance of cheese, toppings, and a crispy, bubbly crust. The ricotta added to the creaminess while the charred jalapeños provided a subtle amount of heat. This was arguably one of the better pizzas I've eaten and I was pleasantly surprised. All in all, "Sierra Nevada Taproom & Restaurant" earned a unanimous five-star rating from me. Not just because of the food, but the service, reasonable prices, ambiance, layout, aesthetics, and overall experience. They also have very generous hours being opened for business Sunday-Thursday 11am-9pm and Friday-Saturday 11am-10pm. If you're ever in Butte County and happen to venture through the Chico area, I highly recommend coming here. I know I plan on making many future visits up this way. read more

We had a wonderful lunch here for my birthday this week. I was pleasantly surprised by how much less packed it was for lunch than for dinner. We sat on the patio just before getting too hot out and it was really nice mid day. My husband and I shared pizza and salad and the server was kind enough to have the salad split onto two separate plates. Let me paint you a word picture. It's about 7:30 p.m., not busy at all. I come in and sit at the bar, not a soul greets me (other than the hostesses they were fabulous), no one comes by to offer us water, a menu, nothing. We go up to the bar and grab menus, and order a pretzel (this is important). Our pretzel comes about 10 minutes later (give or take, not terrible), what was terrible was the fact that pretzel was cold in the middle, lukewarm at best on the edges. It would have been nice if they had been labeled by type of sandwich. After 15 minutes of everyone trying to figure it all out and looking under the buns for signs of what sandwich it was, we discovered that one sandwich was missing. There was arguing and snapping at each other, and the guy who's sandwich was missing, just ended up walking off the job in frustration. The fries were cold and mushy. Nobody ate those. I called to talk to a manager about it and hopefully get refunded for the missing sandwich. A nice lady took down my name and number and said she would pass it on to the manager. Never got a call or refund. I suggest never getting take-out there. And I suggest Sierra Nevada start labeling the orders. read more
