In my experience, Donut Palace can be hit and miss. I've had items that were really yummy and I've had items that kind of tasted like the cooking oil with a bad aftertaste. So it may be a matter of figuring out which donuts are the good ones and then just sticking to those. I will add that I've always had pleasant customer service here. read more

Stopped in to pick up a dozen donuts on Sunday morning. The staff were friendly and the donuts were fantastic. They've got it all. I only got the standard mixed donuts, but they also had specialty donuts like pineapple upside down cake, root beer float, and many more. Will have to come back and try those some time. First time ordered. I ordered and paid online. Was told when got there that 2 donuts I paid for were not available(1 I understand 2 I should not have been able to order and pay for them since it has to have acknowledgement from location for the order. I get there and am told I have to contact the company they use to place orders online to get my money back. I was on their website to order it's not my fault they filter through another service. I ordered 2 items for almost $6 that I wanted to try on top of a $20 order I was picking up at the same time. I was told to deal with them but I should be ok with the fact that my order was hot and fresh. I didn't know that it was not an option for them to be fresh when ordering and that worried me more. The strawberry danish is so hard to eat that I would probably not order again. Tried to even cut with fork and it is very difficult. Just overall not happy with how I was treated. read more

Okay, not great, but I think it depends on what you like in a donut. I agree with the prior reviews in terms of easy access of I-70. The drive-thru was quick and prices reasonable: 1/2 dozen donuts for $5.49. So if you like cake donuts, this is your place. It is a very heavy cake and, holy cow, serious sugar rush from the frosting. The frosting tastes to me like whipped butter and cane sugar. My family said, "We'll, we tried it," but I don't think we'd go there again. read more

i never leave yelp reviews but this place is great! the prices are so low and the donuts are amazing. the oreo, vanilla sprinkled yeast donut and glazed twists are my FAVORITES. i've never had a bad donut from here and i really appreciate the prices. they also have a drive thru which is great for my morning commute. love love love this place :) read more

The first time I went to this donut shop I wasn't Givin what I asked for but we all make mistakes and no reason to make a problem but the second time I was charged half dozen then charged again for 2 more that I didn't ask for, charged 9 bucks and some change. The food is good but there needs to be changes in how people are charged. Of course I know that nothing will be done with this review and nothing will be done period. So as a customer letting others know will hopefully spike the owners interest in a bad review. read more

Excited to check this place out on Old Troy in Huber. Went in (yes, it's a donut shop so get out of your car and go inside) at 7am weekday and was disappointed that most of the shelves were empty. Zero frosted cake donuts and only a handful of yeast. I struggled to find two donuts to buy (would have bought a dozen) and left. Place was busy both inside and drive-thru but the donut selection was disappointing to say the least. Comparing with Jim's donuts in Vandalia who's shelves are overflowing with every donut type you can imagine, I doubt I'll go back to the donut palace. read more

Wow!!! My first time here. Pulled in the one window drive-thru. Ordered a coffee and two donuts for $3.80 and OMG! I see why this place was a morning Saturday stop for many. It was a steady flow of customers at 10am. The blueberry donut MELTED upon entry!!! Soo so good for this uninviting cosmetic look establishment. True meaning to "don't judge a book by its cover". Made fresh DAILY! They open at 530AM!!! 4 thumbs up!!! 4 star reason.....customer service I recommend to walk inside. And add another employee. Two people were working however those same staff members are responsible to help walk-in customers first. Very friendly service and delicious donuts. They were out of a couple donuts for which I asked, but the woman at the window didn't even blink before offering to make them for me. Some of the local donut shops are closed so I thought I'd give this place a try. Easy to access off of I70 but that's about all the good there was. There were 2 cars ahead of me and I waited over 10 minutes in drive thru. When my turn came I ordered 6 iced donuts and it took the lady about 5 minutes to box them. Some of the extra time can be forgiven due to increased safety precautions but you can see in the window and the worker had no sense of urgency. The glazed donuts had a unique flavor, they were light which is good because I did not want a cake donut but the donut was chewy. The chocolate icing was thin on the chocolate glazed and the cinnamon sugar twist had zero flavor. Price was very good for a simple donut but will not be back. read more

Good donuts and coffee.... but the woman who works there is very disingenuous, lackadaisical so to speak. She could care less that she had a customer in the store. Stopped by Sunday morning, 9/20/20, for donuts and picked up two sour cream cake donuts and a coffee. First bite was so awful. Grease was old and must have been cold when the donuts were first put in. Seriously was scraping cold grease off of the top of my mouth. The only flavor I could taste was the old grease, and it was VERY old grease. This was the Salem-Trotwood location. People are friendly. Donuts are terrible. read more

I didn't give this place 5 stars because let's be honest, not much is better than Bill's Donuts, but Donut Palace is way closer and REALLY delicious. This location of Donut Palace is located in the old Granny C's Bakery. Do you remember those knock off perfumes that claim "If you like Cool Water, then you'll love Blue Depths"?? Well, if you love Krispy Kreme, then you'll love Donut Palace. Their original glazed and original twists bear a strong resemblance to Krispy Kreme's melt-in-your-mouth original. They have many other varieties which are good as well, but the original glazed and twists are where it's at. What's more, on Mondays and Wednesdays you can get a dozen of their original glazed or twists for just $5! Can't beat that. Here's a tip...if you have any leftovers of the originals or twists, they are phenomenal heated up in the microwave for 10 seconds on low. I have only ever seen the one woman working in there and she has always been friendly and professional. Stop by next time you go by! read more

My favorite doughnut is the Boston cream doughnut. I was so excited to get myself one on National Donut Day, but I was disheartened with what I got. The chocolate icing on the donut was so thin and tasted like chocolate syrup. The custard filling was not up to par either. There was barely no taste at all. Thankfully I got myself a regular glazed circular doughnut as well, just because I am picky with my Boston cream doughnuts; however that was disgusting as well. There was also only one person working in the front, which is totally fine with me, I understand. But to anyone that likes speedy service, I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Wow! Loved this place until today, the donuts are amazing. However, the employee at the Huber Heights location leaves much to be desired! Pulled up to the drive thru wondow. Ordered a dozen glazed twists (the special on Mon. & Wed. for $6), she took my order and took my $20 bill. She immediately made change; I watched as she did this and counted out $14 ($10 & $4). She then waited on 2 customers who walked into the store (I watched them enter and leave). She still had my change in her hand. She handed me my donuts and started to shut the window. I asked for my change. She then put my change in the register and pulled out $8. I told her she owed me $14 because I gave her a $20. She argued with me that I gave her $14. I told her I did not need her money and would not try to cheat her. She continued to say that I did not give her a $20 and that she was alone & would take my number and call me at the end of the day. Mind you, I live 30 miles from this store. I told her, No, that was not acceptable and I was not leaving without my $14. At which point she told me to give her the donuts back, which I did and she gave me my $20 back. First and foremost- why on earth would I give someone $14 to pay for a $6 box of donuts???? Had she waited on me because I was there first and she took my money we would not have had this problem. Tried to contact the owner- was told he was at the Huber Heights store, so she was not alone as stated. Needless to say, I have been unable to contact the manager. Could not have asked for better service or a better tasting treat. I recently ordered a donut birthday cake for my girlfriend after seeing an article about their new cake service on Dayton.com, and it was everything I was hoping it would be! I placed my order with only one day notice, and they had it ready to go the next afternoon. I worked directly with the manager, Amy, on the specifications of the cake, and she was extremely friendly and extremely easy to work with. Great service, great product, and great price. Made my first visit today to the Donut Palace. I was expecting better than what I received based on prior reviews. The service was good and quick. I bought a small assortment of donuts, including seasonal strawberry cake, vanilla powdered cream filled, cinnamon twist and strawberry filled. The strawberry cake donut was more like the ones at the Troy Strawberry festival. For my tastes they were more greasy than a cake taste. The cinnamon twist was good with the right amount of flavor. The vanilla filled doughnut was a disappointment and actually tasted like a day old donut. My wife both had this one and both tasted stale. The strawberry filled donut was a little better but still more like a day old donut. read more
