Looking to grab a quick burger before my tryout for my new company and this place was perfect simple drive-through no inside seating four tables outside and a couple of picnic tables out back under the tree. Large cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, mustard plus fries and a bottle of water was 10 bucks a tip five dollars because the service was so nice. She cooked her food after she drove up to the drive-through and walked it out to your car. I ride on the porch since motorcycle is not a good place to eat a cheeseburger. Looked this place up on Yelp (5stars at the time - and for good reason) while in town for the holidays. To be short, it is just good quality homemade food. We splurged and ordered: - Large Double Meat, cheese burger, w/ bacon,ketchup, Mayo, lettuce, onion, & tomatoes with Jalapeños on the side - Large Cheese burger, w/fried egg, Mayo and ketchup - Small cheeseburger - Chicken Strips - Curly Fries - Fried Okra - Onion Rings - also regular fries Everything was great, out of the sides I would go 'Okra, Rings, Curly, reg Fries' but honestly prob just my preference - they were all great. The burger was awesome (mine was double meat), wife got the fried egg. The patties are decent size glad I got 2, wife was good with one. The meat seems to be pressed onto a griddle and is crispy on edges (were well cooked), flavor of meat was very good - could have eaten by itself. The building is small and has some outdoor seating - not sure if they have indoor. We ordered at the walk up. All in all, highly recommend. Great food. Decent little place to stop in passing through. Not a restaurant and not fast food, just a burger joint. The burgers were fresh and tasted well. The sides were all frozen bag kind, but it's what we would've gotten at most places. Ordering was a little confusing as we kept trying to go into the building. Ordered the Medium (1/3 pound) bacon cheeseburger with tots. The burger was prepared and cooked fresh. It was seasoned well and placed on a quality Jalapeno bun with reasonably good fixings at a good price. Of special note, the bacon was plentiful, unlike many burgers I have had as of late. The service was efficient and friendly. The tots were ok, nothing special, however, the corn nuggets the wife ordered were sweet and tasty. Got to Kerrville Folk Festival on Friday afternoon. Set up camp in 100 degrees and decided to cool off for a ride into town. Reviews here don't lie! This is a tiny space with a few tables inside and outside. You order and pick up at the counter inside. The lady who took the order was sweet, even though a customer was so rude about a toasted jalapeño bun saying she'd never eat that storming off. The owner remade it, but I ordered my burger with that toasted jalapeño bun and it was heaven. Dumb customers!! So we got a couple burgers and a grilled cheese with corn nuggets (or fritters) and fried pickles. The corn was great but pickles were just ok. Next time sweet potato fries. Daughter said grilled cheese could've been melted a little more, but the cook could've been bothered by that dumb customer. The burgers are solid! Best thing about this place was we got 2 vanilla shakes. When we picked up, they just ran out but still had 2 cups filled 95% of the way. The owner felt bad and gave me a refund on both and then offered bottle water. This place is all about the customer. My kids will always remember this gesture and her patience with a rude woman. The Drive in name is a bit deceptive, it's a drive thru and walk up. That being said the food was fabulous. I had the double large with bacon and Swiss cheese and it was perfect. My wife loved her regular burger. They have a wide variety of sides to go with your burgers too. The only thing I didn't like was the poor seating area. Just a few booths on the porch. You order a burger & choose how you want it made including the bun, condiments & toppings. There are many options, not just cheese & bacon here- avocado, fried egg, blue cheese as an option at a "drive in"? Awesome! Today was my first experience at this cute little place. I had a small burger, added cheese, and an order of fries (they are of the crinkle variety). It was great, hence the review. I rarely review eateries, but this was worth the time it took. I cannot wait to try the grilled cheese, steak sandwich, fish sandwich, medium(or large?) burger with the fried egg, seasoned or maybe sweet potato fries, onion rings...oh, the menu is so big for such a small establishment. Just a good damn burger. We rode out from Austin on 15 July, based really good word-of-mouth that we heard from some other iron horse enthusiasts. Some would say that a 200-mile round-trip ride in high summer (with three digit feckin' temps) is a bit excessive just to get a burger. They would be wrong. These burgers are worth the trip! Brown's is a family-owned business going back a couple of generations. It is owned by Rocky and Collette, a couple of fellow Harley types. Rocky is also a Navy veteran, and when he invited us at the ROT rally to come out for a burger and a brew we jumped at the chance. Brown's seem to be a perfect place to chow down and film our first episode. The building is a small, unassuming, establishment a couple of clicks south of I-10 in Kerrville. Warning: if you are of dainty constitution and need air-conditioning surrounding you 24/7, you will probably be a bit uncomfortable. They have fans, windows, and seating outside in the shade (so f***ing deal with it). As aficionados of the art of the burger, we found Brown's chow to be excellent. The burger patties are made in-house daily and are grilled to order. Be sure to check the blackboard for the daily specials, as there is usually a burger to fit all tastes. We had the quarter pound burger with everything and fries, and the #2, which is a half-pound of meat and cheese on a jalapeno bun. We also added the homemade potato chips and the fish and chips for our executive producer. We dined alfresco, as it was rather warm in the building. Not that sitting outside was much better, but there was just a hint of a breeze. Proper hydration was maintained through the consumption of a specialized formulation of barley water and hops (Shiner). The burgers were, as previously stated, excellent. The jalapeno buns provided just the right amount of bite to go along with the prime beef, crinkle cut fries, and homemade potato chips. Due to the heat, much more barley water was required. As Navy veterans we know the dangers of heat stress and the need to maintain proper fluid levels. So, if you're ever in Kerrville and have a hankering for a really good burger, stop in at Brown's. I haven't explored much in Kerrville, but I did happen to find this chic, rustic drive through burger joint. Due to my dads medical condition we can't always go to a sit down restaurant so we usually settle for a fast food to take to the park. The other day when we were driving around after picking up my dad, we drove across Brown's Drive In and we thought it was so cute! We ended up checking it out and I'm glad we did. The woman who helped up was super understanding and nice about my dad, because he was being SO loud, and allowed us to take our time! I got a small burger with curly fries and a small strawberry milkshake/malt. The burger was excellent as well as the curly fries, I basically inhaled my meal. The "small" shake was so much bigger than I expected and it was the perfect way to top off my meal. I wish we could have stayed and ate at the restaurant because the whole atmosphere was just so welcoming. Not too many find themselves in Kerrville, so if your just driving through Brown's Drive In is the perfect stop along the way. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for months but since I live in San Antonio and they're closed on Sunday and Monday, it's been hard to make it out here to try the joint. Walking in, it was hot. No air conditioning. We were greeted by a very lovely woman who guided us through the vast and interesting menu with the utmost patience. I decided on the one of the top sellers which is a 1/4 burger with toasted cheese (yum!) on a sourdough jalapeño cheese bun. The man ordered one of the 1/4 all beef dogs with kraut, onions and mustard. We also got an order of fried pickles and a Shiner. We paid $15. Not only was this one of the most delicious food that we've had the pleasure of sharing together, it was only $15 DOLLARS!! The burger was juicy, seasoned and cooked to perfection. The cheese was toasted up on the griddle which changes the flavor profile entirely and the veggies were fresh. The fried pickles were AMAZING. The crust was spicy which was a happy surprise. The man loved his dog and again, the bun was soft and fresh. The dog itself was substantial and they fine dice their onions which makes a world of difference on both entrées. If you're ever in Kerrville, I highly recommend you stop in. We sat outside so the heat wasn't an issue but even if the Texas heat bothers you, this place is worth the stop and they have a drive thru to accommodate your craving. Take the drive.
