Can't go wrong at this place. Just a solid pizza! Pizza depends on what you like best, so I can't say it is "the best" in any category, but I don't think you will not be happy with it. Just depends on how exactly you like your pizza. This had a NY pizza feel but the crust stayed pretty crust and wasn't soggy at all. If you like heavy, super cheesy pizza, this isn't that, but again, I don't think you'll leave disappointed. Good spot with friendly staff. read more

Ate here in the way through Bandera with grandson. Just had a quick small pepperoni pizza, but it was very good. Also tried the boneless chicken wings, which were good, but too much breading. Good fountain drinks also! Concrete floor and casual inside but clean; only one bathroom unfortunately. Good and pleasant service. Recommend! read more

While visiting different towns, we enjoy eating local. Hubby found this gem and it was good. The waiter was really nice and checked on us often. The inside is small and cute. I loved how spaced out the tables were. We felt comfortable and could talk without raising our voices. They serve food, coffee, and liquor. We ordered the supreme pizza and wings-buffalo and garlic Parmesan. Hubby loved the garlic Parmesan wings and I over the pizza. Finally, hubby got a iced coffee to go. WOW! I have to admit, I did not expect to find good pizza in Bandera, TX. But I found GREAT pizza, that's for sure! Dining on a Sunday night around 6pm, there were only one or two other parties having dinner aside from us. Our server was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the artichoke dip - now served with crostini instead of tortilla chips - and a 16" margherita pizza. The artichoke dip was phenomenal! Perfectly balanced and not too heavy. The crostini were perfectly toasty but still soft. The pizza was equally delicious! A perfectly thin but soft dough, perfectly cooked. The tomato sauce was so fresh and flavorful, yet so simple. This was a super cute place in Bandera, TX that we stumbled on after a 5 mile hike in Lost Maples. The staff was friendly and inviting, which says a lot because sometimes you can have a very opposite experience in a small town. The food was good. We ordered wings, and the breading on it was DELICIOUS! There were four of us, and we each ordered the personal size pizza and each had a different kind of pizza. First off the name is amazing! Why else do I love The dough Joe? 1. Austin eastcider on draft. Ample amount of other drinks to wet your whistle. 2. Accommodations for food intolerances. I had the pizza bowl with vegan cheese. I'm dairy and gluten free. I also split corn chips with salsa with my husband. Both were delicious and hit the spot. They have gluten free pizza options which is made with cauliflower crust 3. Outside and inside dining 4. Incredible service which nowadays is hands to come by thanks to the 'rona and work ethic 5. Outstanding service. Went in on a Friday at around noon. Got the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. The dip was delicious! Comes with crostini bread slices instead of chips. Highly recommend. Next time we will try the queso dip. We ordered the Jalapeno Popper 16" pizza. We were at first a little hesitiant because it does come with breakfast sausage on it. I don't think I've ever had a pizza with breakfast sausage. It was amazing! Would definitely get again! You got to give this place a try when in town. Well worth it! read more

This is the neatest place with the coolest ambience. They have unique pizzas and great apps, along with tasty coffees and libations. Every visit here has been fabulous- they truly have the whole vibe going on here. Their service and attitude is what elevates ordinary experiences to extraordinary ones. Please be advised they serve thin style crust not the thick kind which seems to be an issue for some of the vocal*locals. I recco the artichoke dip, served piping hot to your table with nice warm chips and reasonably priced compared to other places close by. The pizzas are fun , unique, and the salads are always fresh and delicious. They even have breakfast pizzas all day every day! The waitstaff are top notch always. If that's as important to you as it has become to me, rest assured your whole fam is in good hands here. First time here as we were passing through from Schertz Tx. Pizza was delicious and restaurant had fun music playing that made the atmosphere enjoyable. Wish I lived closer... I would be here every week! Jada and the young man working were very welcoming. We've tried several pizza joints in the area and this is our #1 place for tasty and fresh pizza. The staff is pleasant and attentive. The pizza is delicious. You have a choice of many fresh ingredients and the pie arrives piping hot. The atmosphere and the decor is just okay- but that's not why you eat here. It's the good sauce spices and toppings. If you're into salads then you've found the right spot as well. Fresh greens and tasty dressings. Plenty of parking and fast service. Drive through for your morning coffee caffeine fix. Good service, tasty food and downtown on Main Street- what more can you want? read more

We were about to have a full mean ended up opting to just try the Texas Spud and a side of onion rings since she recommended that The onion rings are old and inedible we left them. The Texas Spud when it came to the table I ended up having a full understanding of it by eating it. So basically it is a baked potato with chili on it (no meat) it feels it came from a can and cheese pickled jalapeño and sour cream decorated with tortilla chips around it. It was ok but I could say I have tried it. The restaurant itself is very old. I believe it is the oldest running restaurant in Bandera I got to see The John Wayne Room which is western-themed dining room. Decorated with memorabilia dedicated to "The Duke". Also they have a salad bar that looks like a wagon. Just take a picture of it from far away the veggies and everything in it looks very sad! Will I return to eat there? Definitely not! What stood out most to me wasn't even the coffee--it was the atmosphere. The shop felt warm, welcoming, and full of community. There were families and friends catching up, and there was even a dedicated area where kids could play while everyone relaxed. The coffee shop sits above the restaurant below, giving it a cozy, tucked-away feel. After getting my drink, I settled into one of the couches and ended up playing my Nintendo Switch for a few hours. It was one of those rare coffee shops where you feel comfortable lingering without feeling rushed. Overall, if I find myself back in Bandera, I would absolutely stop by again for a coffee and maybe try one of their snacks next time. Because I could not reasonably eat the meal, I went to the register and advised the employee that I would pay for the tea but would not be eating the food. Rather than receiving a professional response, another employee became involved and made a dismissive remark to me, stating, "Well, good luck with that." Shortly afterward, the cook/owner came from the kitchen and confronted me in an elevated and confrontational manner, demanding to know what was wrong with the food. When I attempted to calmly explain my concerns, I was interrupted and told, "I've served ALL THESE CUSTOMERS and YOU are the only one complaining." I found the yelling, dismissive comments, and confrontational behavior completely inappropriate. A customer should be able to express dissatisfaction with a meal without being publicly challenged, belittled, or made to feel intimidated. I am not giving a negative review simply because I disliked a meal. Taste is subjective. My concern is the business's handling of a legitimate customer complaint and the lack of professional customer service demonstrated during the interaction. 0/5 for food. 0/5 for customer service. 5/5 for giving me a story to tell.

We've tried quite a few restaurants in the area over the years, but somehow had never made it to TJ's. My oldest son was in the mood for steak, so this seemed like a good opportunity. We arrived around 5 PM and were seated right away since the restaurant wasn't overly crowded yet. Service throughout the meal was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was well decorated and we found ourselves trying to explain who Elvis was to the kids. My wife was a little disappointed to learn they don't have frozen margaritas, although they do rotate other frozen drinks through their machine. We tried the Key Lime Colada, which was excellent, along with an order of pickle chips while we looked through the menu. I ordered the steak salad, while my wife put together a vegetarian meal from the side dishes. My daughter chose the kids' spaghetti and actually liked it, which is always a win considering how picky she can be. For my boys, we found a pretty good ordering hack. They split the pizza burger that was on special, and we also ordered the steak-bite entrée for them to share. The steak bites were actually less expensive while providing more meat than ordering a regular sirloin, and the steak was excellent. Overall, everyone left happy with both the food and service. The steaks were particularly good, and there were quite a few desserts that looked tempting, but by that point none of us had room left. TJ's turned out to be a great stop on the drive home from the Frio. We'll definitely keep it in mind the next time we're coming through.

My cousin got the fried catfish platter, which didn't have much of a flavour, but he said that means it's a river catfish. He is a catfish connoisseur and liked it. The jalapeno hush puppies that came with it were excellent. However, the coleslaw had a very odd flavour, and neither of us liked it. It tasted acrid to me. I didn't really like the fries because of the seasoning, but I still had a few. The server initially gave my cousin water instead of the sweet tea that he ordered. They served us our water and sweet tea in mason jars, which looked very nice, but the water was not pleasing to my taste buds as it tasted like unfiltered tap water.

I'm guessing he was also the cook, because it took an hour and a half to get our food. Another guy showed up near the end of our meal and was helping take orders. They were obviously short staffed, but I was proud of the guys...they were hustling.

It's a new budding business so I'm going to keep trying. First time we went they forgot to put in our order but didn't forget to take out money. We had to ask about our food after 30 min and they were honest. They offered to put in the order but we had to go back to work. We did have to ask for our money back which was weird. The manager said they would make it right, not sure how since they didn't offer us a coupon or free meal voucher. Went back a few days later and ordered dine in, it came out to go. Instead of putting it on a pan they just left the to go box on the table and apologized. The food is spectacular, hands down one of the best pizzas I've ever had-toppings are a little skimpy but price matches the food served. We will continue to give them a shot-mostly kids working there and for their first job they are doing great. Very friendly staff and they are doing their best. read more

This was week , I went here to get some pizza and I must say , I was amazed ! When I first got there , I greeted by a young blonde girl named Courtney . She noticed that I was looking around and asked me if I was it my first time and went through the menu with me . She was super polite , used mam and sir and I havn't heard those words out of a young girl like her in awhile ! She recommend me the chicken bacon ranch and I'm glad she did , it was amazing !! My husband and I visited for the first time and had to try almost one of everything. We weren't disappointed! The only thing is that we will have to show restraint next visit and not go straight to desert before our meal. The chocolate chip cookie in the skillet with ice cream was soooo delicious! This is by far one of the best home town coffee places you could ever visit. It has top noch service and great food. My friend and I walked here and tried the pizza and coffee and it was better then Starbucks. It was very aesthetically pleasing and is great for a mini photo shoot. read more
