Box of Jumbo Sausage & Cheese Kolache.
    Kayla N.

I picked up a box of the Jumbo sausage and cheese kolaches from the Donut Palace this past weekend for my family and I to enjoy! The staff was very friendly and were quick to help me with my order. Additionally, I loved how doughy the bread surrounding the sausage was! For some, the bread may be a bit underdone, but I thought it was perfect. The sausage inside was flavorful and not spicy which I liked and there was also a reasonable amount of cheese. I would definitely pick up kolaches from here again and will try the donuts next time!

I had heard from the San Antonio Restaurant Facebook Page about the birthday donuts from Donut Palace. I have a friend graduating with her master's in a few weeks and I wanted to get her a Happy Grad Day message. I called yesterday and spoke to V about the order and set for pick up time at 9am today. Today, I headed over early and realized quickly that they made these donuts fresh to order so they weren't ready yet. It takes 30 to 40 minutes to make. I had a sausage and cheese kolache and iced coffee with half and half while I waited. The iced coffee tasted like Vietnamese coffee...yum! I also ordered a ham and cheese kolache for Dad which he enjoyed for lunch. The custom donuts turned out great and my friend said they tasted good. I noticed their dozen prices seemed reasonable too. Glad I checked them out!

Kid approved. Nice staff Yummy donuts It's a nice little hole in the wall. It has a drive-thru, which is always a plus with kids.

I called and made an order for 2 of the Happy Birthday donuts, and mixed dozen donuts to take to my sons school. They were made fresh, they were so adorable and they were a hit with the kids. They taste really good, too. The place had really good vibes, the nice lady at the register even gifted me an apple fritter which was the best I've ever eaten! That was so kind of her. I will definitely go back, I loved it there.

My favorite donut place so far. I love their Blueberry and old fashion. The donuts are fresh and yummy. I'm looking to try more of their other donuts. The sausage and cheese kolaches need more cheese and their boudin kolache was good, but needs more meat!

Pros - easy and quick drive in - clear and organized menu - I got a few sausage cheese jalapeño kolaches (large), and they were so yummy! The bread was soft and warm, and you could really taste the cheese and jalapeño in the kolache - love that they offer half dozen and a dozen options - very nice and quick service Cons - not exactly the cleanest place when you look inside so it does make things seem a little questionable...

Amazing food, friendly service, and most of all the friendliest staff. Look forward to coming back!

Donuts are good but the man working early morning is rude. Has zero personality and doesn't even say thank you. I'll go elsewhere.

We can turn something as…read moresimple as grabbing breakfast into an adventure filled with laughter, conversation, and, of course, great food. This time, our morning led us to Pan & Coffee, a bakery and café I picked after spotting its impressive 4.7-star Yelp rating. Pan & Coffee is located on Stone Oak Parkway in San Antonio and proved to be every bit as charming as we expected. From the moment we walked in, the café felt warm, inviting, and bright. The open, airy layout, high ceilings, and oversized windows bathed the space in natural light. First, the bakery case immediately steals your attention. Rows of beautifully crafted pastries behind perfectly constructed glass cases practically beg you to take one or three home. Smile. Their selection includes flaky croissants, colorful conchas, sticky monkey bread, cinnamon rolls, fruit-filled pastries, and other freshly baked treats. My brother and I couldn't resist ordering a cinnamon roll and a lemon pastry, and both were absolutely delicious. The pastries were generously sized, making them perfect for sharing or keeping all to yourself. For breakfast, I ordered the avocado toast while my brother chose one of their breakfast sandwiches. Both dishes arrived with generous portions and were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Pan & Coffee also shines when it comes to its beverage menu. In addition to traditional espresso drinks, they offer creative specialty lattes infused with Mexican-inspired flavors, including the Dulce de Leche Latte, Brown Sugar Latte, Café de Olla, and the unique Concha Latte. I got the Brown Sugar Latte, which was warm and super flavorful. Great bonding with my big brother and first time experience at Pan & Coffee.

The latter I waited I would say at least 25 minutes for. No, that's not a typo. You could argue I should have asked for a refund or just left, but I already felt committed at this point. I watched them batch up 10 drinks at a time, work on them a bit, walk away, come back and do the next step, then walk away again. Batching drinks makes sense for an order. It doesn't make sense for the whole restaurant. People who ordered 15 minutes after me were getting their stuff at the same time. Drinks at the end of batch were fresh and hot, drinks at the front were of course sitting for that entire time. I could see they were busy, and I prefer to not give people a hard time, but at minute 20 I finally asked if my drink was still being made. I got a shoulder shrug, then she checked and then it was finished and handed to me. No apology for the wait. Apparently I should have asked 15 minutes prior Again, the pastries and coffees are fine. None of them are worth the time spent waiting for them.

Last month, after an early valentine's lunch, my aunt and uncle went…read moreoff in search of aguas frescas and mangonadas nearby while my cousin and I hunted for a dessert spot that was a little different. that spontaneous search led us to Just Smash'em--and it turned out to be a sweet find. The concept is simple but appealing: fun, unique combinations of sweet treats that lean slightly toward the lighter side. Think açaí bowls, waffles, and snackable options that could easily double as breakfast or a light meal. I ordered the Berry Good Bowl with açaí, oat milk, strawberries, blueberries, banana, pineapple, granola, almonds, and Nutella. In hindsight I could've skipped the banana and granola, but it was still delicious. The fruit tasted fresh, the sweetness was balanced, and the açaí base held up surprisingly well on the drive home. My cousin went for the Belgian waffle with banana and Nutella--the waffle he has been searching for in the first place--and it did night disappoint. Service was warm and patient while we navigated the menu, and we even got to chat briefly with David, the young lady went. He shared that the business started as a food truck before growing into this standalone shop. The nice young ladies at the counter even offered us to take a flower from their vase of pink carnations for the Valentines. It's a cozy spot with a welcoming I've, even with yea small arts-and-crafts area for kids that makes it feel like a neighborhood hangout. A fun kitty dessert stop when you're craving something sweet but a bit different. We'll definitely be back to try more.
