My first donut shop visit here at Maury County. I can't believe I spent $34 bucks! That box of donuts I carried out was plenty heavy, wasn't sure if it was going to be sugar or oil heavy. Wow, extra extra sweet, really too sugary for me, the glazed donut was the first bite, was warm and sweet, too sweet, ate half because I knew by looking at the rest of the box was going to be a challenge, cut half of the chocolate bar with cream, no cake icing filling and same deal, at least I got a bit of a chocolate taste, advice, use cream filling for filled bars. Next was the apple fritter, cut it in half, seen apple bits but still biting into sugar, this didn't taste no where near an apple fritter, I didn't bother tasting anymore. I can say customer service was excellent, even the baker went out of his way to greet me. Sure hope I can find a donut shop that won't cost me an arm and leg, I've reviewed close to 60 donut shops my last 10 years, I won't forget Donut Palace. read more

I just moved to Spring Hill and wanted to try this local donut place. DO NOT GO HERE!!!. The reviews that talk about the donuts tasting like the way a nail salon smells are 1000% TRUE. I felt like my cheeks were actively getting filled with nail polish air. Not to mention 6 donuts were $30 and I ended up only eating the equivalent of one donut and threw the rest out. I tried to be optimistic and tried every donut I bought and they all had that very weird taste. do not go here and waste your money or risk getting sick. I got a few donuts to surprise my girlfriend. After two bites she said, "this doesn't taste like a...normal donut." Within an hour she was throwing up. I hate giving out a review like this, but this place just doesn't sit well with me. The woman who helped me was nice, but that's the only positive note I have of my experience. Disappointed--Overpriced & Stale Donuts Stopped by early Sunday morning (7:15 AM) expecting fresh donuts, but what I got was overpriced and stale. My wife has talked about this place for awhile and raved about how good it was back in the day. Sadly that is not the case now, the prices are ridiculous, for 6 doughnuts 3 glazed and 3 chocolate glazed, and two chocolate milks it was over $27 dollars. That was one issue, the other came when we tried to eat the chocolate glazed. The first bite I thought something was off but I had never had them before so I took one more bite. After that I quit, my wife took a bite and then spit it out. I looked at her and said doesn't it taste and we finished each other's sentence "like a nail salon smells like". We threw them away unfortunately those two bites gave me diarrhea for most of the day. I'll never eat here again and won't recommend it to anyone unless they want to cleanse their gut. I got 1 coconut donut & 6 donut holes & it was $9 plus 50 cent for using my card. My mouth spoke WTH before I could think & she points to the board. Flavor is awesome, and some of the donuts are oversized, but $45 (with tip)? It's a bit of a racket for regular donuts. OHHH MMMM GEEEE! This was the worst experience I've ever had buying donuts. First of all... the minute I stepped in the door it was CLEAR I was an inconvenience to the owner lady. She literally rolled her eyes at me when I asked her how her pricing works. (The menu board.... This was such a disappointing experience. We drove from 30 minutes away trying to find a good old fashioned. To start, a dozen donuts was over $55. A friend bought a box of selected donuts to bring to my house. She decided to have one herself and selected a chocolate frosting one. She could only taste nail polish and was apologetic about the donuts. They smelled wonderful to me. I ate half of an untrusted old fashioned and said I didn't taste anything like nail polish. The woman at the counter was unfriendly (as usual) which is fine but I noticed their prices have really gone up. They don't include any extras like donut holes. It was $15 for 6 basic donuts. I bought a dozen donuts at Krispy Kreme the other week that was $17 so $15 seems really steep. Really my gripe is with the quality of the donuts. I took a bite of my daughter's donut and I could taste a weird taste that could only be old cooking oil. It tasted like they had cooked the donut in the same cooking oil they made egg rolls in. It had a savory flavor in it. It also tasted old. Both my husband and I did not feel well the majority of the day and I think it's because the oil they use is not fresh and the donuts are not fresh either. The display case was full of a wide variety of treats, but most appeared to have been randomly dumped or tossed to fill any available space. Unfortunate, but it's a visual hint of how the business might be run and that things may not go well with your order. The highlight of my visit was the apple fritter. It was large, still warm, full of flavor...yet over-soaked in cooking oil. My sausage crescent roll was tasty, but either overdone or not fresh (take your pick.) Most disappointing was the old-fashioned cake doughnut. The cake texture and crunch was fine. It was the flavor that landed it in the trash can. It actually tasted as if it were cooked with egg rolls. That usually means someone used the same fryer and oil for a savory something other than doughnuts. Donuts and pastries are either good or bad. There's seldom a middle ground. Given the breadth of outcomes experienced here in just three items, I suspect everyone else's experience will vary as widely day-to-day. read more

Donuts were good and aplenty on a Sunday afternoon. Went to Daylight Donuts first but they ran out for the day, so ended up at Donut Palace. There were seriously a lot of donuts. They were on average $3.50-$4.00 each. Extremely expensive. I've come from LA where family owned donut shops were in every corner, so I'm always in search of these small shops in TN. I've been never a fan of dunkin. Glazing was a bit much but didn't mind it too much. I've paid a lot for desserts before but never this much for donuts. I have to say that at this price, you would expect gourmet donuts. HOWEVER - I would actually very much prefer this over those gourmet ones nonetheless. Back home and checking out The Donut Palace in Spring Hill, TN Arriving, we needed to wait in line, which is often a sign of good donuts. In fact, customers where buying donuts by the dozen! I noticed one lonely apple fritter, so I nabbed that only to learn that it was also a pecan apple fritter. The counter person was very eager for me to try the fritter - and she was right. An excellent choice with crispy edges and moist inside. Best warmed, but isn't that always the case? I also got a glazed twist, two chocolate iced old fashioned, cinnamon sugar old fashioned (yum), and then she threw in two glazed raised donuts. They were all wonderful, but the glazed raised were freshly baked, warm, mouth-watering, and amazing! Donut Palace, Spring Hill, has a very high @Yelp rating, and for good reason. This used to be my goto place for donuts in Spring Hill. But this last trip was my last. 1) on the go and bought some donuts and a 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk. Asked for some cups and was told they had no cups. I would have paid for any of the 60 cups stacked by the coffee machine or from the 250 pack underneath. 2).
