What a cool place! It's a bit hidden down the street from the square, but well worth the slight detour. As you enter B.A.D. you'll pop right in front of the doughnut case. There you'll find some, not a lot, of delicious baked goods. It's more about the building of rather than the doughnuts themselves. You choose a base doughnut as your foundation then you go nuts with the toppings. And toppings there are. Creamy, gooey, crunchy, some healthy looking, some healthy sounding, something for everyone. In this case the everyone were two of my grandchildren and did they ever go at it! One chose a powdered doughnut as their foundation and the other a glazed. They spent, it seems, like 5 minutes each choosing and directing the pile that was put on top. Both masterpieces in their own right. While they were chomping on these concoctions, my daughter and I were discussing how we would have attacked. First of all, we wouldn't have chosen a wimpy doughnut for the base. We would have gone all in with a Cinnamon roll. Those suckers are the size of plates! What a ground floor. I was just looking for a donut! What I found was an amazing place to take a much needed break, pleasant conversation, music that sparked my imagination and tasty comfort food. I had the apple fritter and Kasekrainer bratwurst and a great cup of coffee. My tastebuds were happy; every bite was a pleasure. Violet, my server, was knowledgeable about the menu and offered creative suggestions for building your own donut which I found intriguing as I watched her attend other customers. We will run back for that alone... my grandson wanted a build your own and she graciously accommodated him. The oatmeal cream filled cookies are like a heavenly gift from above. I was shocked how tasty the cookie plus the light and fluffy cream was. I also tried the chocolate chip cookie recently. Fresh fruit and a donut sandwich made maple syrup, egg ,cheese and jalapeño ranch. This restaurant is so great. We started with a sourdough orange roll. It was large enough to serve three adults and was served warm and delicious. We then each ordered a breakfast and were so impressed with the quality and freshness of their meals. Beautiful space, well decorated. The concept is that you pick a donut and selecting what toppings you want, or just enjoy the donut! They also have a few breakfast selections. I ordered an omelette and the keto donut (both gluten free) I wasn't a fan of the keto donut and wish they would make a gluten free donut option. read more

This place is a very cute little donut shop located in downtown Columbia. The staff are very friendly, it has a clean dining area, and the place is overall a nice little spot to eat at. We waited in line for quite a bit. It was only two girls working. My family and I came in and ordered a lot of treats. The pricing is a bit ridiculous I might say. It was incredibly expensive for the build a donut option and it seemed way over priced for the portions. The Viking cake was tasty, but the icing was too sweet and overpowering. It's a vanilla pound cake with an orange zest cardamom icing. The orange flavor and icing is overpowering for the cake slice. It becomes entirely too sweet. Also, overpriced too. The glazed donuts weren't bad and the breakfast sandwich was good. We ordered several donuts, the Viking cake, some cake donuts strawberry and blueberry, and more. I think this place is a cute little spot to eat at, but the pricing doesn't match the portions. I would maybe give them another chance, but I can't justify the price. read more

Yes, to building your own donut! The toppings make the donut. I had a standard sugared donut, and it was delicious. The donut itself is not overly sweet (which is PERFECT) so that you can tolerate toppings. I did the cinnamon icing, blueberries, strawberries, and a few oreo crumbles. They close at 2 I arrived at 1 they were sold out of their donuts and so when I ordered my food they said "let me see if the kitchen is still Open" why wouldn't it be if ya close at 2? More than donuts. This place has a very nice quiche and many other options which I did not have the ability to consume in one sitting. Just behind Columbias main square, the building is wheelchair accessible (which is not the case everywhere in this cute town). The service was spot on.
