Oddly enough, fifteen years ago, I worked in Burbank and found this donut shop while driving around. They had the best donuts (flavorful, not dry) and they offered my wife's fave' buttercream frosting filled. After moving around for fifteen years working for different companies, it was amazing to find, today, also while driving around, they were still there. And yet, not really, because.. They STILL have some of the best donuts I've ever had. Flavorful, soft, yummy. Even donuts you pick up middle of the day seem just as fresh as the morning. So glad an old favorite is still around. BEWARE: The guy at Donut Prince in Burbank just tried to gouge me (04/11/17, 9:00pm). Tried to charge me for a smoothie I didn't order, then when I corrected him, he tried to charge me $2.00 more for the one I did. Had him cancel it all. I picked up on it because a couple nights prior I had come ordered the same thing(but with an added coffee), and this time the order came out to roughly the same price. I asked for the itemized receipt and he showed me where he had charged the extra smoothie (which he had acknowledged he would cancel). The extra smoothie price was $3, so when he brought back another receipt that was $1 less, I called him out on it again. He mumbled something about the price of the first smoothie being $5+, when he had originally charged me $3+. I will post his pic. Stumbled upon Donut Prince while driving in the area. Your typical LA neighborhood donut spot- I will say the customer service was excellent & prompt. Easy parking as well. Wasn't too busy despite being a Saturday morning when I went. I had the cinnamon roll & chocolate frosted. Nothing special in my opinion.... Krispy Kreme is better to me. I really hate to write this because I've been going to Donut Prince on and off or 20 years now, but I went in today and saw that their COVID measures are virtually non-existent. The guy behind the counter did have a mask on and there was plexiglass barrier by the register, but that was about it. Waiting for my bagel I noticed an employee in the back with no mask on. This employee later came out to clean the tables, still with no mask on. Oh, and there was someone sitting in the indoor dining area eating, which totally isn't allowed as of this writing. My hubby and I got the regular glazed donut, a bear claw, and a chocolate glazed donut! They were all fresh, soft and delicious! We came in around 5pm so I was worried the donuts were hard by then but I was wrong! They were still very soft and moist! Total came out to be around $5. read more

My donut cravings are have a habit of showing up at the wee hours of the night. I enjoy that Donut Prince is open late hours and no matter what time I go in, they always seems to have a good selection. I've been to other places where the donut selections are so horrible after a certain time, and they're stale because they've been out all day probably. Every donut I've had from Donut Prince has been yum. Parking hasn't been an issue for me, but they do have their own parking section with a good amount of spots, so I imagine that during the day it wouldn't be an issue either. The only reason why I won't give them the full 5 stars is because it takes them a second to notice and assist you. Maybe because I go in late and they're in the back working and that's understandable, but as a woman, it's a little scary to be out there alone at night waiting for someone to assist me (although I'm not sure that's something they can really control). One of best apple fritters ever! Loved my pecan cinnamon roll as well, both very fresh, great quality and fried perfectly. Great selection and fair prices, they even have a few booths to dine in at. Seems like this is a celebrity hot spot, tons of pictures of the owner with varies local celebrities, fun to see who all eats the donuts here. Very much worth a spot. While it looks like a very old school run down spot, they have some of the best fritters and cinnamon rolls I have had in awhile and at $2 each very much worth the return trip! read more

I don't know what it is when I look things up on Yelp for food in So Cal everything is rated so high which makes me wonder 1. Everything is super good or 2. So Cal people have no taste. Donut Prince is a small mom and pops place, which I love cause I really like to support small businesses when possible (not a huge fan of chain places). Being from Seattle.. being that we've got some pretty awesome donut joints in the northwest maybe my expectations are beyond the norm. The donuts were OK to me. Nothing really grabbed my attention or made me feel like damn this is good! Pretty standard. No frills. Although, they did sell cronuts. I have to be honest it was my first time trying a cronut (I'm always 2000 and late when it comes to trying the next best thing ASAP) so I can't really give a fair assessment. I don't have anything to compare it to. Lots of coffee options. I tried some of the flavored ones. It made me realize I like my coffee basic, straight, no frills, no sugar, no cream, no nut flavors, etc. I think all of the extras takes away from being able to taste the actual bean. That's just me though. It's cool they have that many options -- vanilla, hazelnut, etc. Plenty of parking and they opened super early... We were there at 5 AM. How fitting that for my 50th, I end up reviewing my corner doughnut shop. I lived two short blocks from this treasure trove of baked goodness for 21 of my 24 years, and I make it a point to stop whenever I find myself back in Burbank. Its love in a pink box. Everything is amazing. This is the stuff my childhood was made of. They have the best coffee, ever. Its strong too, got me through Catholic school and a few semesters of 8am college classes. There is zero competition. You have like, 10 flavors to choose from, and its only like, $1.75 for an extra large. Love it, love it, love it. I still rock the commuter mug they sell, too. read more

This place is ridiculous, worst service and they're donuts are not great. My family and I went there to go get some donuts today. My son who is 3 was getting ready to eat his donut and as he took it out of the bag it fell on the ground. As you can imagine he got really upset so I thought to go back and ask the lady if she would be able to give us another donut because his fell. I was showing her I still had the donut. I don't know if she understood at first what I was asking but her answers was no. This is my favorite local donut shop and I've been going here as long as I've lived in Burbank. They have a great selection of fresh donuts, muffins, bagels, croissants, etc. every day. They also have a large selection of flavored coffee, make specialty coffee drinks and smoothies too. The owners are good friends with some local celebrities, so it's not a surprise if you happen to see them here. This place reminds me a lot of Donut Man, because they make strawberry and orange donuts with the actual fruit in the frosting. For my husband and me, they are much closer and much funnier. Dear Diary, What's a girl to do? On a recent trip to Los Angeles to visit my sister- and brother-in law, I discovered the Donut Prince. At first glance, I didn't expect much--walk-in joint with a few booths, a case full of donuts and an assortment of help-yourself-coffees. Pretty typical. But once I tasted its delectable offerings--from the warm, buttery, flaky ham- and turkey-cheese croissants to the double chocolate, old fashioned and sprinkle donuts--I just couldn't get enough. One night, after immediately stuffing my face with enough sushi to prompt a stern phone call from the ocean, I insisted we stop in at the Donut Prince for a sweet after-dinner snack. If I'm going to do a sushi-walk-of-shame, I'm going to have a donut in hand! It's been a month now, and I can't get the Donut Prince off my mind. They always make you feel welcomed and never rushed. They have assorted drinks and coffees to pair with your favorite donut. Overall a very similar donut to dunkin donuts with a dated store front. On this trip I tried a chocolate ring donut worth chocolate icing and chopped nuts, and a Boston creme. The chocolate ring was a little too dry but with fresh nuts chopped at a size I think is just right. Overall average. Boston creme- I believe you can judge a shop on this donut. It tells you the quality of the dough/cook, the type of icing, quality of creme, and the care taken to properly fill the doughnut on a larger scale site to it's popularity,aka attention to detail. The size was smaller, dough again was on the dry side. The fill was very lopsided and mostly near the fill hole. The creme itself was on the sweet side, a la DD. It held up well to the dunk test. I would say this shop is essentially a mom and pop version of dunkin, nothing more nothing less. read more

My son and I would walk here on the weekends to get a couple of donuts. This USED to be our donut go to place. Went there this morning and will not return. The man (assume he was the owner since his picture is on the donut box) had his mask on his chin and very rude. Did not greet us and just said "yes???". We were polite and said "hello!!" and told him the 3 donuts my son wanted. He rudely placed 2 in the bag (maple and cake glaced) and said "$2.10" I told him that he missed one (cake strawberry) - he went back to get it and rudely tossed the bag on the counter and said "$4.55". I gave him a $5 bill and got $0.15 in change. I was not only confused but disappointed! We went from 2 donuts at $2.10 to 3 at $4.55! I didn't question or complain about it because there was other customers and would only slow everything down. Of course there was no receipt either! Go figure! but will NOT return! I'm not so much upset that he overcharged me for the donuts or shorted me on change but more of the lack of interest and how rude he was - to later find out he runs the place! We will no longer return or recommend this place like we used to!! Plenty of other friendly places to buy donuts from! Normally we love donut Prince they always have fresh donuts daily and they also have cronut's which I can't find at some donut places. They sell croissants,pastries, & sandwiches. We purchased a pastry with raspberry & Cream cheese inside, my husband ate half of it before realizing there was MOLD on the inside of the pastry! This means that they do not make these things daily, nor do they put a dates on them as to when the old ones are supposed to be removed. Just How long do u think it takes a pastry to grow MOLD? I am not about the Race card, but when I tell you my family experience you will understand. First time we came in the owner didn't great us or asked what would like. He was very rood and disrespectful. He seemed to be the only person working. So my daughter told me what donuts she wanted and so did my son. I showed the guy which donuts they wanted, I then asked "what's this donut(cinnamon roll)"and his reply was "are you getting anything else?". I said no thanks and paid. My children said thank you after he handed them the donuts and he gave no response. I gave benefit of the doubt and said it must be a bad day! Few weeks later we came in and they had a second worker (nice Hispanic lady) she had a customer she was assisting and so did he. There was another gentleman in front of me(older black gentleman). When the owner finished helping his customer he sat down. Would not take the older black gentleman's order or mine. When a white gentleman walked in he assisted him, before the gentleman who was waiting. The older gentleman didn't say anything and then the Hispanic lady asked him can I help you and assisted. While she was assisting him he sat back down and wouldn't take my order either. Another white customer comes in and he assisted him. So after the older gentleman was assisted, the lady assisted me. As I was leaving the older gentleman stopped me and asked "Did you notice how the owner wouldn't assist out type" I said yes and he said he will never come back to a place that treat people this way. I agreed and walked to my car. My daughter asked me "why wouldn't that guy help that old man or us" I had to explain that this is what Racism looks like in this world..... THEY WILL NEVER RECEIVE OUR BUSINESS AGAIN!!! I have shared this story with many of my friends and Co-Workers an this is not the first time they have heard this.
