I had been wanting to go here for a while since they are open 24/7. And I finally was able to get my chance on Saturday. My mom wanted a donut too, so it was perfect. I went there expecting to see a place like Dunkin' Donuts. But was surprised to see it like an old fashioned donut shop from when I was a kid. When I walked in they had so many different choices of do its to choose from. I ordered the Apple Fritter, Old Fashoned with Chocolate Frosting, and a long Custard filled with Chocolate Frosting. They filled the long one right then and there for me. And I also ordered a mixed berry smoothie. The two people that were working that day were very nice, respectful, and had great customer service manners. Once I payed for everything which was $21.00 and some change I left and went to my car. I opened up the bag and was surprised at how big the donuts were. I was expecting them to look like commercial donut store donuts. But nope. They were pretty big. Reminded me of how big donuts looked like to me as a little kid. But they were very tasty. I started with the old fashioned with chocolate frosting. It was just how I remembered it would taste. And it was pretty big. Then I started on the apple fritter. And oh my gosh!!! That was also how I expected it to taste. It had a slight crunch on the outside, and soft on the inside with lots of apples and cinnamon. YUMMMY!!! I was not able to finish it so I put it away for the next day. When I gave my mom her donut the lo g one with custard inside and chocolate frosting on the top. We were both surprised at how long and fat it was. She thought she was only going to eat a 1/3 of the donut, but nope. She said it was so delicious that she eventually are the whole thing. I highly recommend this place for their donuts and wide selection of donuts. I will say this. I was not impressed with their mixed berry smoothie though. I finished it. But I will not be getting another smoothie from them. But I highly recommend this place for how tasty their donuts are, the selection and size of their donuts. I came a bit past midnight and the strangest thing happened.. a herd of high school boys were in there and they each stared me down.. LOL anyway. There was a huge huge selection of donuts even at midnight and they were actively making more. Got the filled donut holes with custard, lemon, and raspberry. $1.50 each. This place is super nostalgic for me as I came here growing up. I love their glazed donuts and their shaved coconut donuts which are super delicious and taste super fresh. Fresh, light, and airy donuts. My favorites are the matcha pistachio and raised glazed (can't go wrong with the OG). Delicious donuts! This was my first time coming here and they did not disappoint at all. The woman working the front counter was super friendly and patient with us, and also took care packaging the donut with cream cheese frosting on it so we wouldn't make a mess. I will say they're a little pricey (4 donuts ran us $14) but considering the location and the taste I would say it's fair. I think it was originally a cafe as well however, that's currently not running and the bathroom is closed as well. He was in camp for 3 weeks and whilst I'm not a big fan of all the restrictions, I do appreciate the fact that the program was created and executed during this difficult time. I got them a dozen and agreed to have her pick. Gavin got the chocolate glazed and I got the cronut on the side; I think it was my first time trying a cronut, too. Stopped by the Donut Wheel this afternoon as we had a craving for some amazing donuts. I just noticed that of all the times we have been here, I never did a review... The donuts are as great as ever, hadn't noticed their cronuts before as I always get the same selection and decided to try it. It was the most amazing cronut I have ever had and ranks up there with the rest of their donuts. There was a line outside when we were leaving and I they last through the pandemic... Absolutely hilarious, yet absurdly regardless to food safety of the donut wheel establishment. That being said, if any food inspectors are reading this - you've got a live one here mate! So my friend and I go to this place cause the WoFi and 24hr openings as we are in university (masters and PhD) and of course you gotta have some donuts and coffee when studying! So we go and we get the donuts from the nice grandma, and everything is chill. Then you here him... Making unfunny jokes to grandma in the back until you see him - I have no idea his name. He is not a cook, he is not a barista, he is "customer service". So, C.S. (customer service) is no in charge around I wanna say 5pm and it's just him and us for about 3 hours. We buy waters and coffee to keep them happy with our use of their single accessible outlet which my friend brings a surge protector to use with all our electronics. I get a cold brew which tastes like someone literally ashes their cigarette in, AND IT THEN HAPPENED. customer service starts friggin smoking cigarettes inside the establishment! I was certain someone was smoking outside, but after going out to check, NO ONE. I sat back down in a puzzle because it was getting more intense. As I look to stare imagining customer service kneeled down behind the 3 coffee makers I see a puff of smoke go up.... I was in shock. IN THE RESTAURANT?! Maybe it's a night time thing? Others were saying they came later in the evening (after 7) and they're stale. It's a great place and I remember this when I was a kid in middle school and buying donuts. I believe they have changed ownership and they have cool flavors like Ube and pistachio. It's like heaven when you come in there. Lots of pretty donuts and colors, sandwiches etc. I'm not sure about the sandwiches as I seen them microwave bacon and a sausage patty so I'm not sure if I would get it from there. It's a little pricey but once in a while it is great. They now also accept credit cards but they charge you 3% for their cc machine. Entering the store, you're greeted by a glass display case full of geometric shapes and frostings. Behind the counter is a friendly worker, greeting you. It's almost too much, overwhelming the eyes and my nose. I chose a chocolate glazed donut - classic but tried and true. As I paid for my order, I noticed the large menu and variety of options. I was glad that there was something for everyone. My only gripe is that the parking lot is too small. It is the remnant of a bygone era in Cupertino Lore. A time in which people walked, biked, and scootered everywhere. For that reason, I must deduct a star but don't be fooled. The quality of food is nothing short of 5 stars. Thought I might try this place since I didn't want to drive all the ways to Chuck's Donuts in Redwood City. First they got my order wrong (all while saying exactly what I wanted and pointing at it). Then they overcharged me. $27 for an Apple fritter, 4 "specialty" donuts, a plain croissant, and a ham and cheese croissant. I'm 100% sure he just made up the totals because no matter how I do math, something was definitely over charged. (They made me do two separate transactions because they got my order wrong.) The croissant is stale and tasteless, avoid it. I'm not looking forward to trying the ham and cheese croissant. The red velvet and the ube cake donuts weren't bad. The Apple fritter was crunchy. Im okay paying a little bit of a premium if it's something I like; what I don't tolerate is being purposefully over charging. I'd avoid this place personally on that principle. Stopped by to pick up just a Chocolate Sprikled Donut for my liitles, and turned into me ordering about a dozen and a dozen doughnut holes. i like Donut Wheel because they are open 24/7. when ever the urge kicks in, they are there. the location inside where there used to be tables to sit and eat, seems to have been in a storage area. besides that, the Deep Fried Delacasies are Deliscious. Prices and signs have been updated, and while it's nice that all of the prices are clearly labeled now, the costs have also gone up immensely. A baker's dozen specialty donuts (e.g. cronuts, twists, fancier flavors) is now $39.99, while a half-dozen is $20. A dozen cronut holes is $5. Despite those changes, they seem to have maintained the donut quality. I got a half-dozen specialty donuts, and the portions were all huge, especially the bear claw. They also have some "in vogue" flavors like matcha and ube, and the blueberry twist is a unique offering that I haven't seen at other stores. Special shout-out to the red velvet, which was larger, softer, and fluffier than the one I tried at nearby Manley's (but probably also more expensive). With more decorated donuts among the mix now, it looks like they might be gearing toward more of a gourmet donut experience, but at least the donuts are still tasty! I'm looking forward to coming back to trying their apple fritter, blueberry twist, and some of their filled donuts. Due to the price increase, Donut Wheel will probably be more of a special occasion destination than a regular sweet treat. I had to pinch myself to realize that I hadn't died and gone to donut heaven, being surrounded by so many delicious doughy NUTS. Yes ma'am, they've got almost every variety you could ever imagine or crave - including CRONUTS. If you've never had a cronut before, it's basically a donut-ified croissant with more flakes than that one friend with commitment issues. Amazing stuff!! We also tried the classic glazed, old fashioned, and crumb donuts. All so good!! What we love most about the donuts here are that, even during after hours, they still taste so light and pillowy. On top of that, they're surprisingly not too sweet for donuts. Love it!! The donuts here are a bit pricier than we had expected, but hey.. inflation. Plus, running a 24/7 shop is no joke, so massive respect to the business owners for that!! I donut know what I'd do without this place. Ok, probably hit up another chain donut spot..but this one is better than Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts because they are old school flavors and open late for those who get a late night sugar tooth. Parking is right behind the donut shop and has never been an issue for us; although we do tend to come at night time so that could be a factor. They take credit cards now; that used to be annoying as we had to remember to take out cash before coming here but they've upped their register game, so the sky's the limit with your order! We like to get the dozen assorted box and get the classics like glazed, sugar, chocolate, chocolate with sprinkles, maple to name a few. They also have a few pastries, as well as beverages to go with your selections (we like to get a small milk with ours!)
