I was in the area and was craving a deli style bagel breakfast sandwich. I found this one near by and decided to have them a try. I also like to support local business. I was going for a basical sausage egg and cheese on a bagel sandwich and this place had a lot of variety. They have a whole wall of all sandwiches offered, even if you don't want break you can get a lunch sandwich or even donuts. There were two ladies pumping out orders quickly, I didn't wait very long for my order to be ready. I also ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and a donut for later. They also offer a variety of drinks such as soda, water, tea etc... in a fridge and other coffee offerings. When I got my Sandwich it was huge! Definitely great for a hearty eater or for light eaters you can share it with someone or save it for later. I've lived by here for a while but finally stopped in when I was craving a sandwich. Instant mom and pop feel to the spot. Both of the employees were friendly and efficient, and I was in and out in less than five minutes. This BLT on croissant is exactly what I was in the mood for. The bacon, though microwaved in typical donut shop fashion, was crispy, with a great ratio of ingredients throughout. They had a good selection of donuts and a variety of sandwiches. We ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and an egg, sausage and cheese on croissant. We really liked the coffee and sandwich! The coffee was a perfect mix of bitter and sweet, just the way I like it. The sandwich ingredients were good and the croissant was soft and fluffy, not so flaky though. I can't believe I've never left a review for this place, I've been coming here for years all because they have the best maple donuts and I am for sure a sucker for maple bars. Anyways this little hole in the wall spot has been a popular donut spot for years. The parking lot is small so if you don't get there early or at a good time, preferably not breakfast rush hour you will most likely have to park on the street side. They have a few tables to eat your food and I've been noticing they sell Vietnamese sandwiches which on day I will have to try. I haven't been here in years because I have given up my donut addiction lol but today I was in the area and craving one so bad. Of course when I get there all the maple donuts are sold out. Well this is what happens when you are popular for that type of donut and you show up around 10 a.m. lol. Right when I walked in the lady came up to help me. I wasn't even in there for 3 minutes. I picked my donuts, paid and was gone. The blueberry donut is always so good. A few years back they would take a special order for me which was a blueberry donut covered with sprinkles. Chose this place since it was close to work. I usually go for veggie bagel but since they didn't have this option I had to make my own. Simple tomato, avocado and cream cheese. Probably one of the best donut shops in the South Bay. It's located in a cute little plaza and there was ample parking! The donut shop is more of a grab n go so perfect for your morning commute. I opted for a half dozen donuts and they are sooooo goooood. I love classic donuts that are exactly how they're supposed to be. It was a great price too. Found this place on yelp. Seems to have chanced it's name to Daily Bagels. Small neighborhood donut shop with a delicious croissant and bagel sandwich selection! I double checked the address and it matched. Got some - Apple Fritter: It was good. Thinner so it is slightly crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Strong cinnamon flavor and good amount of apple chunks. I liked it and would buy it again. - Cherry filled donut: It was just average , not good. They don't fill it evenly so if you bite into the empty end first, you get no jelly. - French Cruller: not eggy enough. - Apple Turnover: Took one bite and threw the rest away. It didn't taste fresh. - Donut hole: They gave us 1 complimentary donut hole. I should't complain since it was free but it wasn't that good. 1 Apple fritter, 1 jelly donut, 2 French crullers & 1 apple turnover for $8.75. Very dishonest business. 2 specific things #1 - they charge an extra 50 cents to a dollar (depending on who helps you) for BOTH credit card and ATM transactions. This is clearly illegal. Coffee & a donut = $3.25, then they say "I have to charge you 50 cents for the credit card". Merchant fees are a part of business expenses, period. #2 This is MUCH more serious & dishonest. I have patronized this business over 20 times, early mornings 75% of their clientele is Hispanic non England speaking construction workers. 99% of these guys pay in cash. While waiting, have stood and watched. EVERY SINGLE cash transaction is NOT entered into the cash register. The employee ls (the owners) simply press the "No Sale" button which opens the cash register drawer. Then they simply do "the math" in their head and give customers their change. NO SALES TAX! Why do they do this? To avoid paying sales tax. All retail transactions REQUIRE sales tax Sales Tax pays for Police Departments, Fire Departments, etc So, while this particular business benefits from great & responsive Police & Fire Departments, they DO NOT PAY their fair share in the community. I was craving donuts before work last Friday so I decided to try this mom and pop place out. I was surprised how good the donuts are here! I got the sugar glazed and chocolate. They were so fluffy!! Usually I only eat 1 donut in a sitting but I had 2. This probably be my go to place if I crave donuts and want vietnamese coffee to go with. The breakfast sandwiches are a solid choice here. I always get the sausage, egg with cheese on a croissant. The croissant has a good fluff with a buttery flavor. I should also mention the size of the breakfast sandwiches are nice and big so it will fill you up. Sometimes they'll also throw in a couple of donut holes with your sandwich as a little desert. The family that runs this little donut shop are nice and sweet. Husband and I were really craving donuts at the terrible hour of 11am, when most donut places have been plumb cleaned out. Daily Donuts to the rescue! The shop is on the far right corner of a small convenience strip with the equivalent space for parking. They still had a decent selection of donuts at this late hour, so we loaded up on glazed, chocolate, chocolate cinnamon twist, maple french cruller, maple old fashioned, and apple fritter. Today that darn donut craving hit yet again. Since I am at work the only good donut spots are just out of my teeny tiny 30 minute lunch time window range. But... I recalled passing a donut shop while driving down Scott Ave once upon a time! So we decided to go check it out hoping they made sandwiches as well. I went for the Vietnamese chicken sandwich, 2 French donuts, and a muffin. My friend had the BBQ pork version of the Vietnamese sandwich and a hot chocolate. Damn good...and HUGE! Located off Scott and close by to the Santa Clara Town center Maple Leaf is a great places to come for a quick cup of coffee and bagel if your on your way to work or school. I usually come in to get a small coffee and a plain bagel with cream cheese ($2.50) you can always ask for extra or less cream cheese which is always a plus. Service is always very fast and friendly, the seating is very clean with condiment conveniently provides also. I would definitely recommend Maple Leaf for anyone who needs a quick but delicious cup of coffee in the morning, and hey throw in that sweet, mouth water donut in there too you deserve it! Cheap cheap cheap! Which is awesome, but the customer service during my visit was sub-par. I went here this morning because my regular bagel shop, Main Street Bagels, was closed this morning due to an inspector visit. The price gets 5 stars: I got a bagel with sausage, egg and cheese sandwich, medium coffee and 3 donut holes for 6 bucks and change!!! The ambience gets 3. I like to chill, have space to charge my phone, get some of my work done... the tables are close together and there isn't much space at all. Other customers were playing music on their phones. Just a bad place to get work done! The customer service gets 3 stars: I tried to ask for avocado added to my bagel. The ladies were speaking Vietnamese the whole time to each other and made the bagel so fast I couldn't ask!! I'll only visit when I'm desperate for a decent bagel sandwich. read more
