As a self proclaimed donut enthusiast you can imagine my surprise to find such a highly rated shop in Carson City of all places... At 4:15am the incredibly small parking lot had no lighted sign but an open door to the shop with a pile of fresh donuts only inches from the door beckoned me. They had donuts everywhere, yet hadn't gotten to the fritters yet . Opted for a couple filled and a croissant... Might I add while the filled donuts were out of this world fresh and delicious...that croissant was awe inspiring. Light, melt in your mouth buttery greatness. These are hands down, the best donuts in northern Nevada. Their chocolate long johns are so good. They always have a smile and a friendly word when you walk in, plus this business has been around since I was a child! I remember going here as a kid in the 80's. They also have the best croissants (I've never been to France so I can't judge them by that standard) I've ever had. read more

As a diabetic, this should be the last place that I go. But I am treating the concrete crew to some donuts. But since it's been decades since I've had a donut, I got a maple bar and buttermilk. After taking and extra Glimiprride, I ate both of them as they were so fresh and soft. My favorite donuts are the cake donuts with sprinkles and the cinnamon twists! My youngest son loves the donut holes, and my two oldest always go for the bear claws. I went in shortly after 5am this morning to get a dozen for my coworkers. Surprisingly, the case was maybe 2/3 set up, if that. The woman working (older, never seen her before), told me they're very busy with delivery orders. I then asked her if she had certain types of donuts and she told me no. I was very disappointed, as the sign on the front door says the open at 4am. She continued on about how busy they are and so on. She made me feel like my business was an inconvenience. I've never felt so disappointed. I told her okay i understand, but continued on complaining / ranting. It only made the situation worse. Usually there is an older gentleman working the counter who is the absolute BEST! But he wasn't there. I should have known. Best tasting donuts in town but this lady does NOT know customer service. I haven't been to a doughnut shop in a while, so I don't know if it is normal when you pull up and all the retirees inside stare at you like you're coming on to their "turf", but I got the doughnuts anyway. OMG. They have the best glazed doughnuts I have ever had. I ate way to many! Parking was bad as it's right on 395 and doesn't have room to turn around in. Traffic was backed up on the main road as someone was waiting to turn to get my parking spot. Awesome doughnuts make up for it. read more

I just want to comment on that review below that gave 1 star because the business does NOT have vegan donuts. That's not cool, and it's not the way to get your point across. Don't hurt a small business owner because they don't yet have a specialized item. Go to a store that DOES offer them and review theirs. This place has changed. The man who use to open this place for atleast the last 25 years or more NEVER EVER EVER had empty cases at 5 in the morning. There was another review recently stating the cases were empty and the old woman stating they have been busy with deliveries. I experienced the same thing. Sounds like another business covid gouging. The old woman(the Asian not the white one) is rude and randomly over charges for things. I got two chocolate bars filled with custard for my kids. Usually this would cost me 3.75ish. Suddenly this old woman is charging 5.35 for two frigging donuts with custard. A dozen donuts are 12.99. I almost paid half the cost of a dozen donuts for just two donuts! I will not be going back as long as that woman is there and they are taking advantage of this covid stuff. All this crying to support local shops during this manufactured crisis and then they take advantage of the situation. Maybe people should stop supporting them and bring them back down to earth.
