We had a great time at Dooley's tonight. They've got a huge selection of beers. There were 4 of us there tonight. We had the French dip and Turkey Reuben and grilled chicken salad. The food was prompt and hot when we got it. The beer was cold as well. Definitely be coming back. read more

Friday night my wife ordered 2 orders of wings to go. When she got home 10 of the wings were so small , if you taped 4 together you might get one wing. I have never seen such small wings. I have noticed the pigeon population shrinking and maybe that is the answer. Never again. read more

If you are in North Wilkesboro be sure to give this place a try. The burgers are amazing as are the hand cut fries. They grind the meat fresh daily and you get a large amount of fries. (Myself i can make two meals from a medium size burger with fries) They also have live music and a trivia night which is nice. read more

Dooleys is a great place to eat. I had the small philly steak burger (small is 1/2 pound). Very tasty burger with slices steak and cheese on top. My wife had the club and it was great as well. read more

Over all a good experience. We had there spin on a philly cheese steak sandwiches they were tender but a little dry I would ask for au jus if I got this again. Fries were great and home made. Service was good for a bar type restaurant. Yes we will give it another try when were in town. read more

The one star is for the pizza, we sit outside because inside was over crowded, our server never came back for drink refills so I went inside and got them myself from the bar, my husband ordered a roast beef sandwich only to find out when we got the pizza and no sandwich, the manager said I have been out of roast beef for two hours but our waitress took our order for the roast beef 20 mins ago, so basically oh well sucks to be us!!! Great service. Good food. However, the management needs to review a couple things. First of all, I've never been to a restaurant with so many upcharges (extra plate fees, split fees, $2.50 more to sub fruit for fries on my daughter's kids meal, and the list goes on. Seriously, you will be charged for the slightest deviation from any menu item. Our burgers were good, but pretty expensive relative to other places of equal caliber. Lastly, I can't remember the last time that I entered a place called "tavern" that had no beer taps. :( read more

Good for North Wilksboro since everything else is chains but owner said he only pours 1 oz shots because he is a small business owner and that's the standard shot size. Went through town on the way to the Blue Ridge Parkway and used Yelp to find this place. The staff is very friendly and the inside has a nice hometown charm. If warm enough you can sit outside by a gas fire and enjoy a drink. Food was very good, I ordered chicken and fries, didn't realize chicken came breaded and not and wasn't asked. I would have preferred the breaded, but very good. If you leave here hungry you weren't trying. Worth a stop anytime. read more

We were in wilkesboro on business and stopped by here. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food at 12 noon. I ordered the pierogi and a French dip, my boss ordered a garlic jalapeño burger. The pierogis were crunchy which I haven't had before, my French dip was cold. My boss had no taste at all to his burger. We rode up to Wilkesboro on the motorcycles yesterday and stopped into Dooley's for lunch. My salad was extremely fresh and could have easily fed four people. The blue cheese dressing is THE BEST I have ever had. Our waitress, Emilee, told me that it is made in house and I believe that. The burgers are fabulous - juicy and well prepared. I didn't taste the fries but they looked quite tasty. The service was as good as the food. Emilee was an excellent waitress. We will be going back. read more

Great casual restaurant for friends or family. The burgers are excellent and I love the BBQ chicken nachos. My son loves the selection of board games we enjoy as a family while we wait for our food. Do not make the mistake I did of passing this place by while looking for a "real" restaurant. It looks like just a bar, but the food is certainly not typical bar food. Not only do they grind their beef in-house every day, they only form it into hamburger patties when you order. They also have a very good beer selection with a ton of local NC choices. I ate there as a recommendation from a customer of mine and I am in love! The roast beef sandwich was the best I've ever had. I like my meat rare and it was perfect. I normally am not a big horseradish sauce lover, but I have to say, theirs converted me. The sandwich was huge and I ended up taking half home! Loved the fries as well. Beer selection was outstanding and I was able to find Crisp Pear Cider which is a hard to find one. Service was also top of the line. First time visit to this restaurant. Food, service and atmosphere were perfect. Wife and I were looking for a place for lunch on the way home from the mountains and she worked here magic on her smartphone and found this gem. We like to eat at restaurants that are a little of the beat and path when we are traveling. And Dooleys is a restaurant we will visit many more times. I got the small French dip sandwich, and when the waitress brought it out, I said "um, I ordered the small sandwich". And she said "that is the small". My wife got the steak Philly and it was a gigantic "small" sandwich too. So be forewarned, their sandwiches are huge. But the sandwiches were fantastic.
