Our server, Lily, was a total delight. Although she was BUSY, she spent time chatting, welcoming us, and reviewing the menu. Loved everything, and can't wait to return. This will be added to our repeat list . So,let me tell you about the food. This could possibly be the best shrimp po boy I've ever had, with sweet potato fries. YUM! Also enjoyed the smoked brisket quesadilla with some cold beers, complete with coozies. And, bonus, across the street is the super cool , Seaman's Memorial Tower, dedicated to the local shrimpers and sailors who lost their lives to the sea. My wife and I decided to try Dorados Bar and Grill in Aransas Pass harbor. I looked up their hours of operation. I noticed the reviews. This is what I got from the bad reviews. Leave your dogs at home if you don't want dog fights, if you have been beat up by the sun and wind all day, maybe fast food is a better choice for you and if you are in a hurry, again fast food may be the choice for you. Terrible experience from start to finish. We came in after a long day of fishing and chose this place because it's right on the harbor--should have been the perfect, convenient stop. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. There were plenty of open tables, so we sat at one that had just been cleaned. We waited nearly 20 minutes while multiple waitresses walked by without ever acknowledging us. Eventually, one said she'd find someone to help us, and a young server finally came to take our drink order. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks, another 15 minutes just to receive chips and queso, and over an hour for our food to arrive. We ordered simple items--nachos, quesadillas, and two burgers--nothing that should have taken that long. To make matters worse, they ran out of sweet tea, so we were stuck drinking water while waiting for more to be made. About 20 minutes later, we watched them take the tea container next door to finally prepare it. The food itself was just average bar food at best--not worth the wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On top of that, there were people smoking inside the restaurant, which made the experience even more unpleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Despite being right on the harbor, they didn't even open the garage doors to let a breeze flow through, which would have made a big difference.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To top it all off, when the bill came, it was incorrect. A group of six of us went to Dorado's for Mardi Gras. We had to show a credit card or debit card to run a tab. When we were ready to go, I asked to be closed out and paid cash for my purchases. When we got back to the hotel we were staying at, I checked my bank and the waitress had taken my cash ran my debit card. We were double charged. My husband went back to Dorado's immediately and talked to the same waitress. She said that she was wondering why she was $120 plus over. She had split the money with another bartender who just so happened to be waiting in the parking lot in his vehicle. The girl had to get in her pocket and give my husband $60 and she called the guy who came in and had to open his wallet and give my husband the other $60. This has got to be a scam. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Second time here, service was so slow. And I have pretty low expectations on service at the coast. I was there with my parents today and we waited 30 minutes for our first round of drinks, I stood up and saw they were there, I had to walk up to the bar and ask if I could grab them and they were watered down, took at least 45 minutes to get onion rings appetizer ordered as soon as we sat down, then another 30 or so for our food. Ordered another round of drinks and went up to the bar 30 minutes later when I saw them sitting and another waitress was there and was rude and told me per tabc rules I couldn't do that and I told her well I didn't want watered down drinks again that's why I went to get them. Stopped here after a fishing excursion. They cook your catch. We had them blacken the fish and would highly recommend it. Of the sides we tried fries, coleslaw, and tater tots. The hand cut fries were the big hit for the table. The sauces (cocktail and tarter) were the best I have had. I wish they sold it bottled! The service was decent. I found this place because they had a booth at the Salsa Festival and their salsa was my favorite. They gave me a token for a free beer at the restaurant. My coworker and I went for lunch one day and the rest of the food was excellent as well. He got the brisket nachos and I got the fried fish and crab stuffed jalapeno appetiser. Everything was great. Whoever is in the kitchen knows what they're doing! I wish I'd gotten some pictures before we started digging in. Coolest little place on the water. Can't wait to go back. Love it. read more

We needed a late night spot to eat, & found this gem that is open until 11pm. My family loved this place! It was such a pleasant surprise. When we got there with our small dog that was leashed, there was a larger dog on a leash that we walked by. That dog was a little pushy to ours so we sat away where it could not get to us. The owner of the dog was sitting at the bar and seemed as if he was a regular there. After a few minutes his dog was off leash and at our table. I picked my dog up and the larger dog was jumping on me and my husband trying to get to our dog. I finally went to the owner and asked if could please leash his dog as it was jumping on us. He did but then he again unleashed it and was looking at us and just smiling. We had to leave because of this. It is a shame that what is apparently one of your regulars treated another customer that way. We come here often and though the food was good, we will not come back there. read more

Stopped in to Dorados for a late lunch. The place is right on the water in Conn Harbor. Mostly outdoor seating, with some inside as well. Docks to pull your boat in is nice. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Had the fried shrimp basket with fries and Cole slaw. The good part: the eight shrimp were very good. Breading had some good spice and not greasy and the tarter and seafood sauces were good. The ok part: the slaw was an oriental style, not creamy but I liked it. The bad part: the French fries were not good. They are using fresh cut potatoes. Which is good. There is a specific way that fresh cut potatoes need to be processed in order to get good crisp fries. They definitely didn't follow it. They were greasy, soggy, and limp. Not appetizing at all. So my recommendation is pass on the fries. Planning to go back and try something else without them as the side. read more

I Travel alot and like to try new places. I was recommended Dorados and I wasn't impressed. The wait was Long just to order drinks and the waitress was a sweet heart, I think her name was river but that poor girl was being run ragged. There was a lady sitting behind the bar on her laptop, im assuming the manager, was just sitting there not helping at all. Food took forever and it was ok. Defiantly not coming back and they need to hire more help or replace the manager with someone who actually helps. read more
