A few years ago, they resized some outdoor cushions for us and that went very well. Lately, we had two chairs redone. Ordered fabric which took quite a while for delivery - apparently had to come from Spain - but once it was here and other jobs ahead of ours were finished they came and got the chairs. Had them back in about a week as new. Pattern matches well done, new cushions, all very well done. A bit of a hiccup on estimate versus final price but within reason. All things considered an excellent job. We're planning to have them do two more chairs very soon. read more

I needed a couple of chairs reupholstered and got a recommendation for Doran Patrick from an extremely satisfied friend. By the time my ordered fabric arrived, the company had suddenly lost their lease on their Lake City Way store and were fortunate to find a great spot in Kirkland - easy to get to with parking for drop off and pick up right out front. I have occasion to be in Kirkland weekly, and they were quite considerate in accommodating my schedule, as well as honoring the pricing we had discussed several months earlier. When I dropped off the chairs, I spontaneously inquired about matching pillows, and was told its no problem if there's enough fabric. Sure enough, I now (in a one week turnaround time) have two beautifully reupholstered chairs (improved with new padding) and two perfect, matching pillows! The workmanship is outstanding, and I'll definitely return to Doran Patrick's should I need any additional work of this sort. read more

I needed to have the foam replaced in two couch cushions so I called this place and they said to bring the cushions in. Since I live close by I thought this would be a convenient option so I dropped off my two cushions. The estimate for replacing the foam in 2 cushions was $500! When I said that was too much, they said I could get new batting which would refresh the cushions for $250. I asked if that would make them firmer and was led to believe it would so I fell for it and said to go ahead. It took them 2 days to do this. Finally got the cushions back and there was no difference at all in the firmness, they were still too soft and caused pain to sit on. Took them to Friendly Foam in Bellevue and they replaced the foam for $181 total. Now they are back to like new. A very expensive lesson for me. Shop around if you need this kind of service and make sure they clearly state what you will get for your money. read more

You know they're good when industry peers turn to them. For a little background: I needed to have a zipper replaced in a velvet sofa seat cushion. It sounds easy enough, but after calling around for an estimate for about an hour and getting everything from the always unhelpful "I can't tell you anything until I see it" runaround, to WAY expensive prices for the fix, I finally was given Mr. Doran's number. Customer-service amazingness: As soon as I called, Doran himself answered the phone and listened to what I needed. This was a refreshing change. Doran was patient, friendly and quoted me an EXTREMELY reasonable price, right over the phone. I needed 2 water-resistant slipcovers for a lift chair. Doran listened to me about my needs and concerns. He made a proto-type slipcover to be sure it was what I wanted. After slight modifications, he made 2 slipcovers: finely detailed in tailoring and workmanship which fit perfectly!!!!! He is a man of his word. A bit pricey, but these guys really know what they are doing. I've had cushions remade for an old Danish modern armchair that's been in the family for a couple of generations, and had the webbing re-done on another Danish modern chair. This review is long overdue. Doran Patrick's reupholstered a very fine modern chair for me using the fabric I provided. I was willing to give them a try based on the few yelp reviews and their quote which was almost half of what QA Upholstery and others quoted. I did have to return the chair so they could fix some rippling in the back that I noticed only after having gotten it home. I would give them a 4 for not having noticed the issue before releasing the chair, however, I give them a solid 5 for the final results and for the customer service, and for being generally a nice bunch. They did a beautiful job for a surprisingly great price. read more

About 5 years ago, they upholstered an old, oddly shaped but interesting chair that I had bought at an estate sale. It came out beautifully and the chair looks gorgeous. A week ago, I had a very small job and I found them at their new location in Lake City. They again, this time with a really, small job, did lovely work quickly and for a very reasonable price. When I walked in, they treated me like a family member that they hadn't seen in a long time. It is clearly a place that takes pride in having their customers return and in their craft.
