I was assigned Dorn by my home warranty company. Every time I have used my home warranty company, the contractor would call me. I usually got a call within a couple of hours after submitting the issue. After waiting for 2 days, I called Dorn and left a message. Finally they call me and I schedule with them to come the next day between 7 and 9 am. I am told I will get a call 20 to 30 minutes before they arrive. I think with that appointment I am the first stop of the day. My appointment window comes and goes and no one calls, no one shows up. Nearly an hour and a half after the close of the appointment window, Mike leaves me a message saying he is 5 minutes away. I get the message an hour later and call Mike back. I never heard from Dorn again. My issue is simple. I have an attic fan that when it was turned on the chain on the switch did not retract, so the switch likely needs replacing. It is stuck on and attic fans are not exactly quiet. 30 minutes after my appointment window I figured they were not coming and stopped being glued to my phone. The other thing is I work from home and am in the house all day. If they showed up at all, I would not have heard the doorbell because of the fan, but my large dog would start barking to let me know someone was at the door. This is really a 0 star review since my fan still cannot be turned off nearly a day since it was to be fixed. I know it is a small job, but customer service 101 is to communicate with your customer. Things happen. I am flexible. If you have to reschedule, call me during the time I expect you to be here, not 90 minutes later. When I call you, call me back. ****Response to Tessa below. Mike started off on good impressions. He is quick to respond, and willing to work with you. The job was to run some wiring under my house and into a wall for switches and dimmers for my new patio. I made it clear to him that I wanted that wiring strapped and off the dirt floor in the crawl space. At the end, he must have had bad day because he was rude to me out of nowhere. I tried my hardest to extend him professional courtesy, but to no avail, he continued to speak to me in a condescending manner. He had a young, unqualified kid run the wiring under the house. I told him that he didnt hang the wires but he insistently insinuated that I was the liar. I have been very patient with him from May to August to accomplish this job. At the end, he did not accomplish what we talked about. He did assure me several times, how he was going to strap my wiring off the dirt floor in my crawl space, so the rats don't chew it. Now, I was left with inoperable living room lights, wires on the ground in my crawl space, misaligned wall switches, wrong light dimmers (I have LED lights and he installed incandescent dimmers), and damaged circuit wiring in my wall. My wife called him back to fix those issues, which he said he would, but never called her back. We gave him over 3 weeks to respond. Unacceptable. I would have gave him more stars to fix his mistakes since no one is perfect, but his customer service is lacking when he gets frustrated. Very disappointing. read more

This guy came and said the issues are not likely to be covered by home warranty insurance. Thats fine because it is detached in garden. Furthermore he asked me to cut all those bush and flowers in front of electric outlet in my garden so he can work easy if i need his service. Pretty ridiculous comments. I dont think he would do that in his house. Seriously? Then he walked away in 5min and took my $75 service fee via insurance firm. I called the other electrician today and things resolved in 1 minute!! GIF switch on outlet nearby popped to protect electric short so it was such an easy solution. Besides this guy is changing electric outlet by saying he would do his best not to push our bush and flowers. What a difference between two companies service and desire to solve the issues. My experience is only to the point that I was trying to make an appointment, and this company is definitely not easy to work with, as lots of reviews mentioned, technician Mike did not show up on my appointment last Saturday from 8am to 10am, and not even give me a call. NO FOLLOW THROUGH We had Mike from Dorn come out to repair a fan in our bedroom. He eventually made it to our home, but missed two appointments, and made me follow up before confirming he was going to be a no show. He was professional when he did finally arrive and was able to install a fan, however, he did NOT finish the job. The fan remote is broken and he committed to replacing it and never followed through. It has been several months and we have followed up with him many times as well as Kristianna in their office. Both have literally ghosted us. I'm not sure what type of business they think they are running, but it definitely is not one I will ever work with again or recommend to friends. Stay away. read more
