We hired this electrician for several items during our move-in, including outlet work, lighting, and ethernet/WAP setup. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The biggest issue was lack of care for our home. No drop cloths were used, debris was left throughout the house, and cleanup was minimal. An outdoor trash can was brought inside and rolled across hardwood floors. Upstairs, dust and debris were left on carpet, in closets, and on bathroom floors. The job sites were consistently left messy at the end of each day. There were also multiple incomplete or questionable aspects of the work. The ethernet line in the bonus room was charged as a full install ($650), but the line was already present--this was only acknowledged after I raised it, and the explanation given was that the charge was for "testing." The WAP was not properly connected, and some outlets were left unfinished/dangling. For chandelier installs, drywall screws were used in base plates, which is not appropriate for final installation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Scheduling and communication were also problematic. On the day work was supposed to be completed (which required me to rearrange my work schedule, which he knew), the appointment was canceled that morning. A new availability was offered that conflicted with my schedule, despite that same day previously being unavailable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I requested a partial refund for incomplete work, the response was that additional unbilled items offset the charges. That was not discussed in advance, and does not address the core concerns regarding workmanship, cleanliness, and professionalism. We ultimately hired another electrician to complete and correct the work so we could move in on time. While the cost itself was not the primary issue, the lack of attention to detail, respect for the home, and follow-through made this a poor experience overall. This was not the first time I remodeled a home, so I understand the unexpected, but given the overall experience being extremely substandard, I would not recommend this electrician. read more

Very disappointing experience with my security camera installation. Giving 2 stars only because Shannon is very responsive, even on the weekends, but the overall experience was a nightmare. I recently hired Shannon to install 7 new security cameras in our new home (5 wireless solar, 2 hard wired), and the entire experience has been a mess. In the midst of the chaos of closing escrow, moving, and baby on the way, I thought contracting Shannon would save me time - little did I know it would lead to a series of frustrating issues, probably cause 5X the time I thought I would save. To begin with, after the installation, Shannon left without bothering to test any of the cameras. None of them were checked to ensure they were working or syncing properly with the homebase system. I discovered that my solar cameras weren't synced up correctly, but I thought, "No big deal, I can just buy a ladder and take them down myself." However, the bigger issue was that my wired floodlight was also not synced and I did not know how to deal with removing the electrical wiring. I quickly reached out to Shannon approx 15 minutes after he left but he callously refused to turn around, insisting that he would only help the following week if I ordered more services from him... On top of that, during the initial call, I mentioned a loose bracket on one of the cameras, and Shannon was quick to blame the bracket itself rather than acknowledging any fault in his workmanship. I spent 10+ hours over the weekend fixing the wired floodlight issue myself with the manufacturer's tech support, and I even had to relocate my entire modem system outdoors temporarily just to sync the camera. As if that wasn't enough, three weeks later, one of the cameras was literally hanging by one screw because of the same loose bracket issue I initially brought up. Shannon continued to blame the bracket/manufacturer, but upon closer inspection (removing the bracket), it was evident that the problem was a shoddy drilling job into the stucco - the hole was way too wide for the sinker. See pics for reference. The fact that all other mounts were installed securely, and that I was able to reinstall the same bracket properly shows that it's not a bracket defect but an issue with the workmanship. What's most disheartening about this whole ordeal is Shannon's attitude. He went from being calm and friendly to very condescending once confronted with the issues and once the money was taken. It's as if he flipped a switch, and his true colors emerged. In my opinion and from experience, companies with great customer service will go above and beyond to address any issues. These companies will do the right thing for their customers. After reading other negative reviews, it's clear that my experience is not an isolated incident. Save yourself the trouble and frustration - look elsewhere for reliable security camera installation services. read more
