I've been here before for there Birria tacos and they were amazing. Maybe it was about a year ago maybe a tad bit longer. Anyways, I was by the area and decided to stop by and try something different. I order the birria burrito combo that is supposed to come with salsa and your choice of chips or chicharon. I also ordered their super birria fries to go. The server Yanely was nice but confused me a lot, she was speaking Spanglish like no one's business. She went from asking what I wanted to drink in Spanish and me answering in Spanish to her telling I'll be back to take your order, I said that sounds good thank you and then she said de nada. Lol more of that happened as I sat there and ate. The food was good the decor was awesome, brings back childhood memories. I would give it a 5 star but not only did she confuse me but it didn't help that the bill was $24.51 if I paid cash but they don't carry change so it would be $25 even. I was like what the French baguette!? I paid with my card and they ended up charging me a total of $25.32. So they basically did me dirty big time. Oh and they forgot to make my food to go. I was going to leave a four star but writing this out I'm going to go with 3. The principal of the matter is you don't charge extra for having no change and then charging me more for a credit card transaction without letting me there is a card fee. Very good tacos for an okay price. Came with a few friends around lunch time. Service was awesome and indoor seating is nice. Windows keep the sunlight in and makes the place feel warm. 8/30/25 It's all about Quesabirria with the consommé, folks! Cozy place serving up delicious birria with friendly service. It's not fast food so it took some time for my order to be ready. Got the Quesabirria combo with the 2 tacos with chips & salsa. The young lady (Andrea) who took my order was very warm & welcoming that I instantly felt like a regular. Boy oh boy was I in for a treat!!! It came out piping hot, so fresh & hefty! The tacos were meaty (birria) and the consommé was deeply rich & flavorful. Dunk it! Heck I wanted to drink it! Mi gusta Dos Amigos. We met up with some friends at this tiny but mighty taco house in Montclair across from Costco. Their menu is small but packs a punch with their flavor. Their street tacos are tasty. Parking is tricky, as there is not a lot of spaces. Food also takes a hot minute to come out. read more

I was at the little Montclair Shoppes plaza on Central Ave getting some avocado toast from Juice n Bowls. I couldn't help myself and decided to see what else I can delve my teeth into. I saw Dos Amigos Birrieria and was curious. It's a Mexican restaurant with very quaint interior. They have full dine-in and to-go only. I chose the latter as I didn't have time to hang around and eat. They appeared to be quite busy at the time so the wait would have been a bit long if I ordered any big items. Hence, I just got an order of chips and salsa. OMG... love the thick and crunchy chips! Lots of them, too! Salsa was good with a slight kick of spice. Funny, the salsa was only filled half way in the container. I guess next time I'll have to buy 2 orders to get the container to be filled up to the top LOL. It was $4.49 per order. The gentleman who helped me was nice and very helpful. The wait was not very long at all. I'll have to come back here to try their burritos and tacos one fine day. read more

The owner really needs to put a little more effort in hiring more waitresses, the two poor waiters had the whole restaurant to themselves and the service wasn't that great because there were just too many guest. Good job to the two waitress and a bad job for the owner. Do better. read more

Horrible experience Waited over 30 minutes to get my food and another 30 minutes for my son to get his food, by that time my food was cold. We just kept seeing other parties get their food, some even got there after us and left before us, come to find out the server tells us they had lost our order. the server could have handled the the situation way better to make things a little better, I'm not asking for a discount but the cook coming out to show a bit of sympathy would've been nice. I've been coming here since 2023 & I'm not sure if it's because they got new workers but the food doesn't taste as good anymore and it makes me so sad to say this. Today we ordered a quesabirria combo & I was told that we had to pay for an extra quesabirria taco instead of it being a side option. So we paid the extra and got the rice & beans even though we didn't want it for that combo. I explained to the lady how every time I've came we ALWAYS get the extra taco included in our order but I guess they changed things even though I checked online and the option is still there for the combo's. I just wanted to share some feedback about the quesabirrias. We've been coming here regularly for over 3 years, ordering about 2-3 times a month, and have always loved the food. Lately, we've noticed the quesabirrias have a lot more fat than before, and it's honestly taking away from how much we enjoy them. The place looks amazing after the renovation, and we really appreciate the effort, but I kindly ask if you could consider going back to the way the food was prepared in the past. Online it says they close at 9. If you show up at 8:20 they will tell you to order to go only. If you show up after 8:40 they will tell you they're closed. The food was not worth going back again at the risk of being turned away because they don't feel like working anymore. If you cannot fully serve customers until closing time, then change your hours. I got 2 burritos which were $30 there was more like a bean burrito hardly any meat I had to open it to see if there was any meat. I called and they did offer to go back and they would give me a new order but after I tasted the meat I don't want it. Finally got to try out the new birrieria in Montclair and it's actually pretty good. Right in front of Costco so the traffic can get crazy but definitely worth it. They have a menu of different birria items and the birria itself tastes really good! They sell alcohol, beers, seltzers but no hard liquor. The service was great! Our waitress was really nice and helpful. The ambiance is chill, since it's not a huge restaurant. They have tables for small or large parties. Fellow YE amigo and I decided to try this place out before seeing a movie at the local AMC. Staff was welcoming and asked if my order was for pick-up or dine-in. I let her know, and I was seated promptly. Traffic was decent with many tables taken but enough for us to take a seat fairly immediately. Ambiance is really chill! Lots of tables just talking and laughing, and the vibe is warm and welcoming. Amigo and I ordered watermelon agua fresca and horchata. We each had a burrito. His was with birria, and mine was with asada. Both were awesome. I added a side to mine, and the chicharron was really good. This place is definitely one of the better places I've had a burrito, and their offerings for the sides are really awesome. I can't complain with how my burrito came out. The cheese, tortilla, beans, avocado, and meat were all balanced, and it tasted awesome. No gristle in my asada. We'll definitely come through again when we're in the area for a movie. The quesabirria was so good! The tacos are HUGE and come with two tortillas, one soft and the outer tortilla fried. It comes with a side of consommé to dip the taco in, along with two sides. I def couldn't finish both tacos because they truly are massive, but my entire meal was delicious and I did devour that consommé. Ask for some salsa on the side. I remember the chili oil and green salsa being delicious. The workers were also a delight. Just give them time to bring out your order, might take a bit. read more

The customer service here is terrible. I ordered a meal only to find out that they were having a taco tuesday special. Instead of honoring the taco Tuesday special they over charged me, and then offered a cup of water for my inconvenience. What a joke! The consume was mediocre at best and my tacos had a drop of cheese and was severely lacking in flavor so, I gave the food to a homeless person I didn't even want it. Not to mention the rice had to be old and spoiled. The taste was so sour I was afraid to swallow it in fear of getting sick! what happened to this place? Came here with my aunt and kids, been here many times but this is the first time i notice the B rating. Food has always been great but the service the last three times has been terrible. They came took our drink orders and i'm used to these cold draft Dos X, well they brought us bottles, my kids ordered soft drinks and a horchata they bring us cans and a giant horchata. They never mentioned it would be cans or bottles but whatever we order our food including 3 kids meals they say oh it comes with drinks i'm like they have their drinks my daughter could have got a small kids horchata so they take her drink back lmao what a joke. They bring her a small horchata filled 3/4 of the way. Food comes out.. mind you we were the only ones there at the time then two other couples come in they get their food first. This place fell off big time. There's enough Birria places around to never step foot in this place again, they get two stars because food is actually good and the decor is great but to have Walking dead playing while Dodger game is going on is weird. I rarely write negative reviews, but this place has consistently disappointed me since it opened in Montclair. Initially, I couldn't praise it enough, but the quality has plummeted dramatically. Today was the final straw. My wife's quesabirria was practically a cheese quesadilla--all cheese and tortilla, barely any meat! This establishment has fallen from an "A" to a "B" according to the city and state health department. . And by "B," I mean barely any meat! I stopped ordering the carne asada burrito long ago because it's mostly fat, not meat. It's clear this place has strayed from its commitment to quality. It used to be my go-to, but after today, I won't be returning. I truly hope they read this and make significant improvements, as I'd love to see the positive reviews that could bring me back. read more

Not the same place it use to be. Hyped it up to family and it was mid at best which was embarrassing. The tacos use to be huge to where you only needed one honestly. Now it's shell with little meat and hardly any cheese at all for 4.99 a taco. The guac isn't the same, it use to be thick homemade style now it's thin blender style. The menus have all the prices marked out so you can't see what the prices are. We use to love it here but won't be back especially noticing the B rating when we left. I just tried them today after driving by them every time I went to Costco, and boy, have I been missing out! The people there are energetic and polite; they greeted me with a smile. Their plates were very well served. Their quesabirria and al pastor tacos are delicious. The consommé has a great flavor, and their salsas and chile are good--not very spicy but full of flavor. I definitely recommend stopping by for some good food. The parking is a bit limited due to the location having many businesses, but it's worth it. read more
