This was my first time going there for lunch. Service was very slow,but the waitress was attentive and nice. Food was good. But my only complaint was the "beer battered onion rings". They are not the onion rings as described on the menu. They came out in a pile. So those would actually be onion straws or strings. They were also not battered,more like breaded and no seasoning. Best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had in my life! And those corn bread muffins are drool worthy... I ordered a second one after I was finished with my meal because I couldn't resist! My husband ordered the the smoked ribs with chicken combo and a couple sides. Everything was delicious and even my kids (2 and 4 and very picky eaters) devoured the food in front of them. Enjoyed it when they first opened. Last several times I've been there I've been underwhelmed. Dry mac and cheese, old brisket you can tell was just warmed up in the microwave. Driving through the area & looking for a good place to eat after a long rough day. BBQ sounded perfect. Stopped in w/the family. Inside is nothing fancy at all. Very rustic & redneck just as the cocktail drinks are labeled. Young waiter warned us it was his first day & they had just completed a catering order so they may be a little slow. They were indeed slow but I could tell the waiter was trying. The food was worth the wait. Between the 4-of us we were able to try a wide variety on the menu. Overall good BBQ & good service. 2nd visit today within weeks of opening and all good. I've had the pulled pork & hot link sandwich, rib & chicken combo with potato salad, and baked beans. You get a choice of dark or white meat on the 1/4 bird, with dark being mine. Smoke, flavor, and moistness, were perfect. Yup, I know, the white meat could be drier, but with everything else being good, I'd expect it to be done right as well. Ribs were a little fatty but still had plenty of meat. I'd ask for no sauce on the ribs next time, and just add my own from one of the three table sauces, with both the sweet and the hot based on their original, which is good. As for the sides, the jalapeno cheddar cornbread, potato salad, and baked beans were perfect. Beans not to saucy, and I doctored the salad with the house made season salt on the table- not because it was lacking- because I add cayenne to mine at home. 5 stars once the bar opens and the tea gets stronger. read more

A little bit off of I-5, but so worth the detour! I have spent a lot of time at Texas BBQ places in Texas. This place in Sedro-Woolley is as good as or even better (dare I say). I had the 2 meat selection as did my wife. We both chose brisket and baby-back ribs. The brisket was melt in your mouth tender with just the right amount of smokiness. The ribs....ahhhh the ribs! So perfect, such perfect smoke absorption. The meal also came with a bread selection and 2 sides. My wife chose the Texas toast and I chose the cheddar biscuit both were great. For my sides I chose fried okra and also beans. The beans looked like what you would expect, but I was surprised that they were seasoned with something really delicious. The Okra was perfectly breaded and cooked as one would hope for, but also came with a dip that looked like ranch...it wasn't though, it was way better! My wife had the mac & cheese and roasted veggies as her side. The Mac & Cheese was delicious made with real stretchy cheese. The roasted veggies were great and seasoned to perfectionism. I have heard the other meat and side selections are equally as good and I can't wait to return and try them. This place really does have Texas roots after talking with one the proprietors (Nancy) and is strongly evidenced in the great quality of everything we had. Oh my god, the Brisket was amazing. We arrived around 4:00 7/17/20. I'd describe it as a Taste of heaven for $15.99+ tax and tip. We shared the small portion choice of Brisket. It was about the right amount of food for us to share. Though we are both small people. It came with the Original Sauce, and choice of 2 small servings of sides. We Sampled the 2 other sauces, the Original was just the right tangy bbq taste I love. Much better then the other two IMO. Plenty of room for social distanced outside seating, when we were there. I want share my opinion on our choice for supper. Hubby, My brother and I went to the new Double Barrel BBQ place in Sedro Woolley by Les Schwab tires. It was a big disappointment! The family style buffet was more like a backyard picnic. the buffet was set up on folding tables in the middle of the room,3 kinds of bbq sauce was offered with pulled pork and brisket as their meats! Potato salad, coleslaw, mixed fruit, mashed potatoes and pork n beans all served up on Wooden plates, with wooden forks . They charged $17.99 a person for all you can eat! In my opinion it was not worth going back for seconds on anything, I didn't even finish the first round because it was not what I would consider good food! I will not be going back to this place! 1. Remove the membrane from your ribs. This is very much a rookie mistake. If time / effort is the issue, score the membrane with opposing diagonal cuts approximately 1" apart (both directions) if the cooks don't want to peel. This allows whatever seasonings to permeate the meat and make for a better product, as well as customers not having to peel their ribs in order to eat them. Seriously, 20-25 bucks a plate and the ribs have the membrane intact? Shame. 2. Brisket didn't have any bark nor smoke ring and was sliced paper-thin. Are you wrapping at 165°? I'd recommend butcher paper with some beef tallow squirted in, or foil / Texas crutch. Standard brisket slice is 1/4". I could practically see through mine. Are you even putting on a rub? 3. I've never been to a BBQ joint that doesn't provide a side of BBQ sauce, or at least have a squirt bottle on the table. Bold choice to determine that you know how much sauce I should be allowed. 4. Pulled chicken was WAY too dry. If this sits in a steam table, add some chicken stock every hour or so, or (even better) add some rendered chicken fat into the mix. 5. Kids asked for ranch with their fries, never got it. Didn't even get a bottle of ketchup. Seriously, every other restaurant can afford this. read more

BEST BBQ I'VE EVER EATEN!!!! Saturday all-you-can-eat buffet with real slaw and home made potato salad. Brisket is to die for!! I smoke a lot of meat myself and I rarely eat ribs from restaurants because I don't like oven ribs finished on a grill. The ribs were smoked baby-back with a dry rub and they were amazing!!! They did have smoked chicken but I didn't have it because I was focused on the brisket and ribs. If you ever have a chance to eat here, I highly recommend it!!! This place looks like a bbq joint, the staff is terrific and friendly, and on each table is a galvanized can of very good peanuts with the shells going on the floor which is covered with them. We ate there two nights in a row. The first night the pork ribs were perfect, fall off the bone with three sauces to choose from and two good sides. The second night we were treated like Norm in Cheers. The ribs were not fall off the bone, which I prefer but were still good and the potato salad was excellent. We first tried this new restaurant in early March 2019. At that time, they had a buffet, but have since learned the buffet is no longer available. What I had (chicken and brisket, mac and cheese, baked beans, homemade root beer), was good overall. The bad: chicken was dry and lacking in flavor. OMG - this BBQ joint knows what it is doing. We got the Memphis Monster sandwich with 1 lb. of pulled pork and 2 sides (Baked beans and Mac and cheese) and everything was fantastic. The pork has great smoky flavor and there's plenty of it, the slaw on the sandwich is perfect, and the roll, even the roll was off the chain with it's crispy crust. I always get mac and cheese at BBQ places and my wife always hates it ... UNTIL NOW! She said this mac and cheese is in the top 1% she's ever had. We tried the original and honey sweet sauces and both have great flavor with a nice little kick at the end. Pretty good bbq for the N.W. but not Texas bbq that Im use to enjoying. Could use some tweeking on the bbq sauce. Beef brisket way way over cooked and dry, smoke flavor only on surface not pushed through to middle of brisket. Dont a fan of shaved brisket. Eother chopped or slabbed on a roll. Ribs same over cooked, not much flavor on dry rub. Seem like nice folks. Reasonable prices. They have real fresh cut fries !! read more
