We ordered chicken fingers(over fried to the point inedible), orange beef (tolerable if you didn't wonder what cut of meat), sizzling chicken (a taste of bathroom scent?) and pork fried rice, which was manageable. I have been going to this place for over a decade.. (probably longer) - it was the less bad of the options. I would travel about 30 minutes to get here from the isolated far out town where I live. Never GREAT, but ok.. well, about a year ago, they got a new chef. I could tell immideatly. Things were just different... not quite the flavors I had become accustomed to. I figured, well, it's the only place I've been going to for years, I'll just stick with it. Sometimes a chef will find his/ her groove and things will level out... Well, the sure leveled out! The flavor of the food is not good at all! I asked for spicy, My request was NOT AT ALL considered. Worst of all, during the meal, a friend gave me a very sentimental gift of 14 silver dollar coins. I stacked them on the table, and continued to eat and enjoy my company. Well, dumb me, I forgot them on the table. I noticed when I was 30 minutes away - back at home. So, I called. I explained who I was, where I was sitting, when I was there, and who my server was. Well, no one ever heard of a stack of money on the table... and of course, the manager had just left - taking ALL the money from the restaurant. I should call back tomorrow and speak to the manager. Well, I called back the next day - only to be told that the manager was on vacation! So I asked to speak to whomever was in charge... I was told to call back later in the day... Called back later in the day and was given further run around. So basically, they just gave themselves a 120% tip (on TOP of the 35% tip I left on my $11 take out order) - my host paid for the meal as it was a celebratory outing celebrating a life event for me. She - left a 25% tip on an $88 tab. This crook of a waiter made out good two days ago... I guarantee, he will meet his karma. DON"T patronize these crooked people - and if you do - WATCH YOUR WALLET! but really, the food, it's just not that good... spend your money elsewhere.. read more

They were open during a blizzard. Went here and got the Singapore noodles ($13), which is one of my regular orders, and the chicken noodle soup ($4) which was so good I got two orders of it. I'd recommend them both. Our meal was served with complimentary tea and topped off with fresh mango and (the usual) fortune cookies. Growing up around the Cape there are very few Chinese restaurants in the lower cape area. This is the place we went for Chinese food. They make very good Mai Tai's, scorpion bowl and have some other nice specialty drinks. I'm pretty simple when it comes to Chinese food so usually get the apps. Only place I've ever seen that serves Fried Wonton soup which I love to partner with egg rolls and dip the egg rolls in the Wonton soup. Try it. its good. Very good crab ran-goons. They are the latest place open for food in Orleans other than Wendy's so you will get the drunk crowd in late at night. We had wrestled our way down Rte 3 and bobbed and weaved through suicide alley on Rte. 6. The lights of the Orleans rotary looked like an oasis in the desert. We were starved. We were really hungry and this food still sucked. We ordered their spicy chicken (believe it or not, the menu has no Kung Pow chicken). The host, assued us it was the same thing. We ordered chicken and vegetables as well. On paper it sounded real good, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, water chesnuts, chicken all in a savory sauce. Mmmmm Mmnmmm. The food came in take out. We drove up to Wellfleet as fast as we could. Didn't even get a ticket in Eastham. We got in to our house and opened the containers. Here's what we got. Spicy chicken chunks in celery. Savory chicken chunks in celery. No bamboo shoots, no peanuts, two mushrooms (I counted), no water chesnuts, nothing. Maybe if you eat there the food is good. The vegetables in the very bland black bean sauce were also so large they didn't absorb the sauce's flavor. Who puts a quarter of a tomato in a mixed vegetable dish? Perhaps we caught this place on an off night. After being seated it seems we were forgotten. Finally had to signal the waiter to let him know we were ready to order. Upon coming to our table he gruffly asked, "You ready?" Like he had something more important to do than his job. We ordered one of the combos for two and the only good part of the meal was the wanton soup. The rest of the food we found to be hastily prepared. The fried shrimp was mostly batter...the sweet and sour pork was very soggy and the fried wanton were stale. I have to admit I love Chinese food but this was one of the worse meals I have ever had. The Double Dragon Inn has been around longer than I've existed. Sure, it's a little "dated". But the food is great when you're in the mood for "Polynesian" American Chinese. I have yet to find anything in Boston that replicates it. It's nothing fancy by any means, but it fulfills it's role in the Nauset area better than any other restaurant I've found. The staff have been working here for years, and they get to know you when you come here a lot. I love their cocktails too. They have the strongest Scorpion bowls this side of the Canal (and trust me, I've had them all), plus a lot of other retro cocktails that are hard to come by in the city. Open until 2 so it is perfect for any of those late nite cravings (which you WILL have after you've had it once). Came here on a Friday night -- the start of Fourth of July weekend, a big one on the Cape! I was happy that there was seating and not a wait at all for 5 people! Also a view of the water from the back of the dining room. I was happy to see the menu had a large selection of options and not just the "usual" Chinese food. My party and myself ended up getting some appetizers and a few entrees to share. The only issue here was the service was very slow, our server was sparsely seen when we all wanted more water, we tried to ask for large glasses of water so they wouldn't have to keep refilling the little ones but it was hard to get his attention if/when we even saw him. Wow I can't remember the last time I had Chinese food this bad. Two ways to describe place: expensive and tastes bad. We had 3 entrees and chicken wings and it came out to $75 with tip. The jumbo shrimp with broccoli was mostly broccoli and some small frozen shrimp that tastes old. The only her chicken dish with brown sauce was horrible as well. The chicken wings had hair on it and very skinny. Not sure how a place like this gets any business. Waiter asked how the food was. I told him it tasted horrible. My wife and I were on the cape for a Christmas getaway and we were expecting some mediocre Chinese food on Christmas day. We ended up at this place, though, and we were happily surprised. We sat in the main dining room with a view of the lake behind the restaurant, which was nice. The seating area wasn't enormous but compared to many Chinese restaurants we've been to, it was large. We ordered General Tso's chicken, beef with broccoli, and pork fried rice to share, and not only was the food excellent but it somehow came out in under five minutes from when we ordered it. It was actually a little weird. But it was all delicious, fully-cooked, and not too saucy. The General Tso's was on the sweeter side, but if that's your thing, then great. Terrible. They do not understand celiac, I have been sick for three days. They served my shrimp in watery sauce, saying they couldn't thicken it. First time I have ever seen a Chinese restaurant with no cornstarch. It came without vegetables or rice. My companions shrimp was not gluten free but it was mostly onions, almost no shrimp at all. No one bothered to come ask how things were either. This is not the first time I have eaten there, once before I had a dish that was huge amounts of celery and grease and a tiny bit of chicken. Consistently good! I'm 40, I've been going there just about all my life & now I take my daughter there. The food is ALWAYS good. Fresh, never too greasy (as some Chinese food can be), always hot and with a colorful presentation. While the interior is almost exactly as it has been since I was a child, it is always clean, tidy and well maintained. The view of the cove is always pleasant. The staff is warm and welcoming. Patrick and Judy are my favorite but really all the staff are friendly and good at their jobs. The restaurant seems to run like a well oiled machine. Went here for dinner tonight, 5 people. The main dining room was so brightly lit it felt odd right away. The entrance is old and the place felt run down. We were seated in the main dining room next to a table that had just finished, they had small children. The floor around the kids had food all over it, no problem if the staff had cleaned up when they reset the table. They never did clean or sweep up the mess, just reset the table and left the dropping on the floor, gross. Our order came within minutes and left us less than satisfied. We did not take any leftovers home (which is a first, who doesn't like leftover Chinese food???). We will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone. This is definitely NOT the best Chinese food on the Cape as is claimed on the radio ads. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more
