We haven't ordered Chinese From Double Dragon in South Windsor for quite awhile. Crab Rangoon was very good, Ribs with bone was pretty meaty and flavor was good. I had shrimp with broccoli and it was loaded with fresh broccoli and 8 large shrimp. Our only complaint and it's really not a complaint is there wasn't much pork in the pork fried rice. I looked up Double Dragon menu and it brings me to Grubhub. Ordered 2 lunch specials , crab rangoons and steamed dumplings. I was told it was $50. after arguing how the menu stated differently. I was told it was "30 years old." Grub hub was founded in 2004. lol. Then after. after I asked for just the two meals. He told me $20. So I asked, $30 for rangoons and dumplings? He said yes; which was not accurate with the menu inside the restaurant. After that he returned to cook raw chicken for about 2 mins. He returned; without washing his hands, and opened my bag, took out the dumplings and crab Rangoon. Then proceeded to ask if I wanted it. Won't go here again. read more

I do not recommend this business. The rice was mushy and had no flavor. All the food we got wasn't good at all.

I went there today and I do understand the negative reviews. The General Tso's Chicken was terrible! The pieces were all made of this fatty stuff, I dissected each piece because I was looking for chicken, and there was very little! The food seemed okay to me; the rest of my family didn't like it (my mother commented that it had a "weird taste"). Not even an hour later, we were all scrambling for the bathroom.... Gave this place another try after 20 years of going to the other Chinese restaurant in town, which is rapidly sliding downhill. Very disappointed. We ordered vegetable fried rice, vegetable Mei fun, and tofu curry. I've never had bland tofu curry, but this was just a little less bland than everything else. The veggie fried rice had almost no veggies in it and was white rather than yellow. It barely seemed fried, and there was no egg in it at all. And again, almost no flavor. The Mei fun tasted almost like plain spaghetti. I'm not exaggerating. There were a few veggies in there and a tiny bit of egg but that was it. Too bad. Probably the grossest Chinese I've ever had! Ordered over $100 of food for ten people. Service was fast and friendly. I knew exactly what kind of Chinese joint this would be by the two toddlers running around the place. The food is the cheapest absolute bottom of the barrel Chinese food. Never in my life have I seen a Pu Pu platter like this, and neither had anyone else. Instead of beef teriyaki sticks it was over cooked chicken sticks. No chicken fingers, and instead some weird triangle fried bread with something stuffed inside. Also, it came with what seemed to be fried wontons. Ribs were decent and so were chicken wings. I actually spilled my cup of orange soda in my beef and broccoli and it made it taste better. The pork fried rice was zero stars. Completely flavorless yellow rice with fatty pork cubes in it. 9 out of 10 people agreed it was horrible. People were throwing out half eaten plates of food. Everything was oily and tasted like it was old and frozen. Will never go back. read more

My co workers and I usually order Double dragon once a week, the last time I ordered from there I ordered the chicken/veggie with rice (lunch special). When I received my food I started eating it only to find an insect at the bottom of the dish in the same container I received with my food. I was absolutely disgusted and shocked, when I called to let them know, the employee on the phone offered another dish but no reimbursement and laughed at me. Completely disappointed with the customer service and disgusted by the food. Never ordering from there again. read more

I made a phone call today for a delievery to Double Dragon Restaurant to order a meal for my son. The customer service was very poor becuase their employee was very racist, had a very bad demeanor, and attitude when it comes to serving people in this community. I have contributed and endorsed this restaurant on many occasions in the past but after tonight I will never eat or get delivery from this restaurant ever again. I would not even recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. From a scale of 1 to 10 I would give him a zero for his customer service because he denied me delivery service. read more

So the first time I order from them was based on the name. I mean Double Dragon, I imagined Billy Lee smashing through groups of thugs to bring me my dumplings. I have ordered from Double Dragon numerous times. However this evening my order was incorrect and the customer service to correct the error was terrible. I actually ended up hanging up on him while he was arguing with me. He told me they recorded the conversation and I ordered it wrong. My boyfriend was here and he concurred, I did not order it wrong. As we had guests over and their order was wrong I called.back and asked for the correct order and offered to pay the difference. This manager was more concerned with proving he was right than providing us the correct order even with additional money. He came to our house and continued to argue and was basically bullying me into saying I ordered it wrong. My boyfriend was the there and intervened. We will never order from this place again. Which is a shame as this was our favorite place to order Chinese delivery from in south windsor. I have never experienced this level of disrespect and poor customer service. I paid for the additional food..I know what I ordered. I didn't want to argue. I offered to pay for the additional food i ordered...I am really disappointed in this business. Awesome. Stopped in here today for a Pu-Pu platter for 2 and some chicken chop suey for the first time. Long strips of chicken were cooked perfectly and biggest I've ever seen and tasted fresh and hot. The chop suey was also excellent. The man who took the order was very nice and gave us a big cup of cherry sauce at no extra charge. Came here on a Saturday so maybe the food is best then. I will definitely eat here again. Must be new people working here from the previous reviews being bad. You should try this place if you like Chinese food. Awesome. read more

Double Dragon? More like Double Doodoo. I have ordered takeout from this establishment twice now and each time they have had the WORST customer service. The first time, they did not tell us our total and didn't ask if I wanted to pay with a card. I assumed they had a card scanner with them, so I didn't worry. When the delivery man came, he told us the order and I went to hand him my credit card. He complained like Trump after a new SNL episode and asked if we had cash. We scoured the house for some money but we had none, expecting to use our credit card, like most intelligent 21st century millenials would. The delivery man had little old ME call the restaurant back, and give them my card information. When I called the restaurant, the dingus on the other end complained to me that I didn't give them the info beforehand. (When they hadn't asked and had hung up on me!!!) The second time I ordered from Doodie Dragon, they once AGAIN did not tell me the total and did not ask for a card. Luckily, we were planning to pay with cash this time but didn't know how much we would need. When the same doofus delivery man arrived, he asked for $28.64. We had $28 handy and told him we had to grab more. He yelled, "You always do this! Everytime I come you have to go and get money and leave me out in the cold!" We asked him to come in for a minute bur he refused. The wackjob then said it was OUR job to ask for our total on the phone. Like his rash-stricken bum wasn't being paid to do that exact thing!! While the food here is decent, the employees are nothing but rude. They argue with you when they mess up, and are so mean! I will not be taking my patronage here ever again. read more

Love this Chinese restaurant. After trying all the ones in South Windsor and being underwhelmed, I found this one last year and just love it!
