I took out dinner from here. The place looks pretty run down. You cannot even enter the shop, rather you should order standing outside. I went for a house special wings and general tso's chicken. Quantity was good. House special wings was fried very crisp. A little bit more spices would have made it better. General Tso's chicken was also good. read more

My family loves this place for takeout! Our favorite in the area. My go to's are the orange chicken and fried pork dumplings.

I find the food above average at the Hong Kong House many of the dishes I have tried are executed with both flavor and excellent presentation. The luncheon prices, portions and quality can not be beat, this remains one of my luncheon go-to spots for a quick satisfying meal. Perhaps a slight draw back is that the dining area is located near the bar which has a loyal customer following but there is a slight barrier separation between the two which should suffice. read more

I came in solo on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and noticed right away that this place is your average Chinese joint. It was very cool inside and noticed the greasy fingerprints on windows on the way in. I had the sesame chicken with pork fried rice. Meal also came with egg drop soup. Sesame chicken was very good and unlike any have had before. Very tender chicken with lite crispy coating. In addition rice was one of the best I have had with nice fresh flavor. Soup was pretty good with not being too salty. After meal had to use Men's room and noticed that facilities definitely need to be updated. Also no toilet paper ,WTF come on business owners "get with it" I would strongly recommend for take out only if you must however I will not be back because I have a strong suspicion that the areas customers cant see are just as filthy as the ones you can see. read more

First time ordering from here since we moved relatively close. The lady who answered the call had a thick accent but was very nice. We ordered at 945pm on a Tuesday ... we were told 45 minutes.. let's see what happens We got the food at 1020pm. Not bad. I got the general tsos chicken combo with chicken lo mein instead of rice. Also got the steamed dumplings. The chicken was good. Not enough hearty white meat in it.. but that's me being picky. Sauce on it was good and chicken exterior was crispy yet glazed with the sauce. The lo mein was decent. Not the best I've had but decent. The steamed dumplings were very good. Food has been bland since they reopened after being closed at the beginning of Covid. We usually order Szechuan type dishes and ask for them HOT. They have not had any heat in them and Lo mein has been mushy. No flavor to most of the dishes we have ordered. Completely disappointed with our recent orders. I give this place 5 stars because it's exactly what it's supposed to be. More people should be coming here for their American style Chinese food instead of the several other Chinese food take out places nearby that are all pretty bad to fair at best. Hong Kong house is fresh and the quality is definitely there. The price and the portions are right on too. I love the interior. It's a perfect dive feel. We have been looking for a good place to get food that delivers in our area for those nights, like last night, where we forgot to take out meat for dinner or are too lazy to cook. Our search is over. Hong Kong House is great. The food was very good, the price was exactly what I expected to pay, and the delivery was fast. The clincher here was the General Tso's Chicken. It actually had some nice heat to it. A little spicy, not what I usually get which is a sugary sauce over the top of the chicken. My wife had sesame chicken, and I have to say it was one of the best sesame chickens I have ever had from a delivery place. The price was exactly what I expected, and that made me happy. We had paid $10 more for the same food with one of the competitors, and the quality wasn't there. The delivery was fast and the girl was extremely nice. Delicious Take-Out! I can certainly vouch for the quality of this fast food Chinese restaurant as we've ordered in a few times now in the past couple months. The Lo Mein, Fried Rice are top-notch! As far as entrees, the chicken curry was amazing! tons of flavor in here... we used to have another favorite in town for several years but this place has definitely taken over for us anytime we want take out Chinese... great food... I will mention the only item I did not enjoy so far was the crab rangoon... other than that, has been quality food. As far as the place itself, wasn't what I was expecting at all when I went to pick-up recently (was always getting delivery until that point). It's a got a pretty large bar and dining area on 1 side... pool tables and jukebox on the other. I went to pick up on a Sat evening I think it was... and the bar was packed. Seems like a place where a lot of locals hang out. This place is a silent & not that crowded. We guys love their veg.fried rice & veg noodles..... Yeah not to forget, order the hot n sour soup(big bowl). Run of the mill Chinese joint. Only one in the area I think. Interior is rundown and doesn't look clean, modern, or maintained. Prices are decent though, service is ok. Takeout ordering times are longer than any Chinese place I've ever ordered, and they weren't even busy. Expect around 20-30 minutes. Pork fried rice was horrible. No flavor, yellow color, scraps of fat and random pork pieces. Chicken wings were good, teriyaki beef, chicken fingers, and ribs. Spring rolls were soaked in oil and slimy on the inside. Very high quality Chinese restaurant. With pool tables inside and a jukebox that gives a lot of bang for your buck, this is a great spot to hit with some friends and just laugh the day away. Lunch specials are around 5 dollars and worth getting two of, even with its pretty large portions. The quality is above the price. Bar area has tv, but is usually surrounded by locals. I prefer to sit by the pool tables, order, shoot a game or two, and finish to a warm meal. 5 stars. I ordered here from the first time two days ago. I got the chicken with mixed vegetables combo and crab rangoon. I think this is one of the best quality Chinese food restaurants in the area. The sauce on the chicken with mixed veggies was great. Thick and had a lot of garlic. Much different than I've had before and I liked it. I didn't care for the rice much but it was alright. The crab Rangoon was great! It wasn't that overly sweet filling you normally get when ordering that. It tasted more savory than sweet and had the crab flavor that is normally lacking at other places. The ownership of this place recently changed, and the service and quality of food have been going downhill. The first time we went there after the change of ownership for dine-in, the new server at the bar did not seem to know what she was doing, we've been going to this place for 6years and we'd order the same stuff every time we visit, yet she still couldn't get the simplest order of two combos right. We then got a delivery order a week later, and as usual, they said it would be a 45 minute wait, it did not arrive until 2 hours later! Food was all cold and spilled in the bag. The place was dead the night we went to eat in. Only two people in the bar. The food was decent. The fried rice, which was yellow, was a bit crunchy but had good flavor. The chicken fingers were good but I did not like the duck sauce. It was bright orange like the sauce you would get with sweet and sour chicken. My husband enjoyed the Gen Tso. Nice heat and the broccoli was cooked well. It is a bit out of the way for us but since we were in the area we tried it out. Not good enough for us to go out of the way for but it we lived close we might get take out every once in a while. read more

I've ordered from this restaurant many times over the years. Since they gave up some of their space, where eat-in seating used to be, the sit down eating area is now combined with the bar area, which I wasn't crazy about. So now I simply order for takeout exclusively, but am still very happy with their food. I feel their food is clearly above average when compared to most take-out type chinese restaurants and feel they aim to please, and allow you customize the way "you like things", with the best of them. All the reviews about "average" I don't get. Maybe cause it's not new and shiny inside, some might allow that to influence their opinion of their food. Go ahead into Glastonbury and pay twice as much for food that just might not be any better. I love their fried rice and they have an appetizer of house special fried chicken wings, which have been my favorite for years. The service was friendly, delivery on time, but unfortunately the blandest Chinese food I've ever had. My husband got the sweet and chicken with fried rice and stopped eating after a few bites saying "it wasn't worth it". I got the House Special Chow Fun and it was completely devoid of any seasoning, I should say that the Wonton soup was actually awesome. Would probably order soup here but nothing else. read more

The food was reasonably good and the service efficient and pleasant. My main criticism is of the patrons at the bar during lunch. The bar is just a few feet from the seating area. Those at the bar were loud and boisterous, with plenty of profanities thrown in. They seemed to have no understanding that people were also trying to have a nice lunch in the restaurant. Great place for lunch or dinner or for a few drinks at the bar. Haven't used their pool table or jukebox yet, but the food is great tasting and a good value. The drinks are reasonably priced as well. The bar and restaurant is quiet which is something I can appreciate, you can hear other patrons talk to you, rather than yelling over loud music like some local bars around here. read more
