You can order the meat only or get a dinner that includes 2 sides and your choice of bread (white, wheat, or cornbread). They provide very generous portion sizes. The rib tips are the best that I have had in Indy thus far. They are tender and the seasoning they use is delicious. You could eat them without any sauce. However, the sauce is what takes it over the top for me. They offer sweet, medium, hot, or they will mix the sauces for you. The hot has a pretty good kick as a warning if you are sensitive to spice. I recently tried the Bar B Q bun, which is essentially a pulled pork sandwich. The pork is finely shredded and the sauce is poured on top of the pork. It's almost a fork and knife sandwich, as the bottom bun gets soaked in the sauce. Their sides have definitely reduced in quality over the years. I recently tried the mac and cheese and greens. As a note, they only have greens Friday - Sunday and they often times run out on Sunday if you do not get there early. The mac and cheese was dry and had little flavor. The greens, which used to be my favorite in the city, reminded me of cooked spinach and weren't seasoned. The service remains great. With the amount of people waiting while I was there, they were friendly and efficient. I wanted to order chess pie and there were not any readily available behind the counter. They told me they had some coming out of the oven in the kitchen if I was willing to wait and they brought it over once done. It is carry-out only, so be prepared to take it elsewhere to eat. You can call ahead to place your order as well.

My personal rule of thumb is that if I don't smell que on the premises I'm not interested. The scent picked up more so when we walked through the door where we were greeted by the hostess. We also met the owner Mr. Myron Waters who we chopped it up with for several minutes before we ever ordered. He gave us his vision for his business and his background and it was impressive as well as extensive! I had to leave my wife talking as I wanted to order. Having seen a social media post by a guy known as 'Big Den Den', I ordered the Big Den Den special. Not a purveyor of red meat or pork, I opted to swap my 2 slices of brisket for 3 additional wings *total of six* and turkey tips, baked beans and potato salad. We also got the mix sauce which was exceptionally good! My wife also opted for the BDD Special which each cost $20. and it's a lot of food IMHO and upon our departure we were gifted 2 banana puddings. Once home we got situated and blessed the food and dug in. All the meats were moist, flavorful, smokie and tender. The sauce was very very good and now that I know, I'll have the sauce on the meat instead of on the side. The baked beans were really really good and to me, not everyone can do bake beans that everyone can enjoy but these were really good! The potato salad was good too! I think from a personal taste I'd add a little sugar to it but overall I couldn't complain. Will we be back? Absolutely we will. Mr. Myron has a good thing going and he's trying to do it right. My spirit of discernment says that he believes in himself, family, providing a great product to the people at a reasonable price point and the service and hospitality incorporated will bring people back. I told Myron if I didn't like the product I would say so and he asked that I personally come to him and tell him what I didn't like or what could be done better so he can make changes. A lot of owners don't care or at least don't extend the offer to receive input, but he gave me his contact info and I told him that I would. I shared the venue to members of my neighborhood board meeting, as well as some other friends. Fortunately I have some leftovers that have been calling my for several hours now and I plan to warm it up and indulge myself again. As a reference to Smokie Waters location, as you travel west o. 38th street from Georgetown, look for the Planet Fitness and when you see it turn right and then a quick right, straight to their adjacent parking area with the gym. Statehouse Market is just what it sounds like - a weekly farmer's market that occurs during the lunch hour on the Indiana Government Center campus. It features a variety of food trucks, food vendors, craft vendors, and assorted other groups. I've been pretty quiet with the reviews from Statehouse Market this year - partly because my schedule has been bonkers and partly because I've mostly been sticking with familiar food trucks. Que King has been one of the exceptions. Que, which on the truck is noted as standing for "Quality Urban Eats," is a Black-owned food truck specializing in, you guessed it, BBQ type items. The menu was modest sized yet featured the likes of pulled pork, a Steak Burger, pulled chicken, baby back ribs, and a few other main items. There are sides available and a few drinks, as well. The prices were pretty decent. First off, I must note super friendly employees. The young man at the window was friendly, helpful, and accommodated a wheelchair using customer quite well. I was impressed. I ordered a Steak Burger. It came with a bag of chips (Lay's). It came on a bun. It had the usual on it, though you could also get a sauce. The menu didn't say cheese was an option, though it must've been since they offered it. The burger wasn't a behemoth, however, it was tasty with a nice grilled taste. It was served up quickly - which I appreciated as this market occurs during our lunch hour. If I have one modest complaint, it's that the chips were downright awful. They were so bad that I checked their date (they weren't expired). They tasted stale and were so bad I didn't eat more than 4 or 5 of them before tossing the bag. This really is a modest concern, however, it definitely was disappointing alongside a solid burger. So, this time around I'm going to have to go with a 4-star. They did have some nice side options (including seasoned fries) and should I return (and I would), I'll likely try a side even if I have to pay a bit more. Overall, a pleasant new find among Indy's food trucks and I hope they return to Statehouse Market.
