Stopped by King Ribs after a trip to the Indy race way (about a mile up the street). Walked in to the friendliest cashiers. Ordered 2 dinner plates with sides. Got 4 healthy portions of ribs with sweet cole slaw (tasted like candy) & macNcheese. Came with a role, perfect for dipping in the bbq sauce. Other dinner plate was tips and chicken (so tender) with beans and potato salad. Got those good bbq sweats halfway through eatting. We did not have a good experience here. We ordered potato salad and did not receive any. We also did not get a receipt to verify if they heard us order the potato salad or simply forgot to include it with our order. Cornbread is available only on Fridays. Why? Why not every day? I didn't like the honey barbecue sauce on the ribs I ordered. But I managed to fill my belly so it wasn't a total loss. The drive through service was slow. I didn't like the rude service I received from Briana from 16th St location today. I didnt even bother eating my food because of the customer service she gave me. 30 bucks down the drain smh. To go back and forth with a customer who has pictures and receipts and to tell me what I ordered, which matched my receipt and say I didnt order that is insane, to tell me I didnt order something ( which I did, its the receipt and they put it in my order was even more insane) all of this back and forth because you gave me the wrong side of what I didnt want or pay for and didnt give me what I wanted and paid for and we confirmed it over the phone is even more insane! This restaurant was packed. The drive thru line was wrapped around the corner. I was going to wait in the drive thru line, but decided to go in and place a carry out order because it looked like it would be quicker. The restaurant has a picnic table out front that you can eat at and a few tables are open inside for you to dine. As I mentioned, I opted for carry out. They also have daily specials that you can take advantage of. The staff is not rude and not overly friendly. They do their job. They have a menu consisting up ribs, chicken, rib tips, sides and desserts. I opted for a slab of ribs with a side of potato salad and baked beans. The ribs looked delicious, and tasked OK. The potato salad was also good. The baked beans, however were the bomb. I wish I would have got the bigger size. The small sized sides are very small, almost like a sample size. It took a while to get my food, about 30 minutes. They were not very efficient in handling orders in my opinion and could have been done a bit quicker. They do take the extra step in wrapping to-go orders in saran wrap so that the food juice and sauce does not leak all in the bag. I was battling between a 3 and 4 star rating for this place but decided to go with a 4. A 3.5 rating would probably be more appropriate. Their Q is decent compared to other national Q joints that I have been to. You could do much worse in Indianapolis. read more
