This place was recommended to us by the hotel staff. We should have listened and ordered pizza. We made the mistake of getting sandwiches instead of pizza. The sandwiches were good, but seeing the pizzas come out made us regret our choices. I chose the tuna melt with chips and pickle. The sandwich was hardy. It was a typical tuna melt. My boyfriend got the meat ball sandwich. It was also pretty big, but this one was very messy. It was tasty, but all those ingredients would have been less messy on a pizza. We did try a pint of beer, but I think we were so tired from the day that we didn't get it enjoy it. I really enjoy this place a lot. I have been here twice, both times after snowboarding at Mt. Hood on my way back to Portland area. There are several beer choices on tap that it never gets old, especially when they taste so good. Then the menu is vibrant with plenty of unique combinations to start the salivation in your mouth. When the food comes, expect it to be hot and fresh - and your taste buds will thank you for stopping in for a bite. My family of 6 came in here for a meal in the busy holiday season. This is a large pub with lots of traffic it seems and they have the staff that can handle it. We figured we needed to try the Pizza and Beer and we did, they were very good, even approaching excellent. Our greek salad was also well constructed. I think the best pie that I tried and we ordered several was the Rudolph, a seasonal pie of sausage and pesto. It was yummy. I also ate most of my Mom's Buffy, which was pretty spicy. The peppers on the buffy had my mom wishing she had not ordered it, she is a lightweight on spice so be aware of that. So we traded off Rudolph for Buffy, and it went well. I had a 20 oz Hop Lion IPA that was more evergreen than citrusy. A good beer but not the best in my book, but more from a taste preference than anything else. I am kind of Deschutes Fresh Haze or Fresh Squeezed kind of guy when it comes to IPA preferences, so I prefer a bit more citrus tones. I am not a snob though, these beers are well executed. We sat outside, it was nice set up. It was busy Friday night, Cesar salad was good, dressing is different than normal Cesar salad dress but tasted good. Pizza was so thin, bbq sauce was good, roasted Pepper has sour taste. I have to fold the pizza to eat it. The crust was good, you get more of sauce and other toppings than dough until u get to the crust. I don't drink but my friends like what they ordered. Decided to try the new Asparagus White Pizza. Smelled great when it was set in front of me. It is a fantastic pizza. Eventually they found a tall table for us but my 91 year Dad, needed a chair that doesn't require a climb. Another five minutes and they informed us a table looked like it was opening up. Love this place! I came with my family and our two dogs while visiting Hood River and could not have been happier. We sat outside on a nice sunny day with other dog owners that we had met. The staff were extremely busy but took the time to pet the dogs and chat from time-to-time. This was another brewery hit that Steve and I enjoyed on our last trip to Hood River! Although parking can be a little tricky in Hood River once you do get parked and you can dump the car and go walking all of the town's breweries are very close. Double Mountain was our second brewery that we went to while touring the area and we really enjoyed it! The place seems very popular and we did have to wait for a little bit but not too long. We weren't even planning to eat anything here, just try some of their beers but the place was packed so regardless a short wait was inevitable. Once we did get seated and looked at their wide variety of beer and cider I decided to go with their Hop Lion IPA which I really enjoyed and was perfect on the warm summer day that we were experiencing. Although I don't recall precisely what beer Steve got I do remember that he enjoyed it and I liked the sip that I took. The location is fun and the wait staff are cool so that's always a good thing. And of course I am always looking out for brewery swag and they have had a very impressive selection of t shirts. I got the Vaporizer t shirt which I really like. Love the swag! read more

Wish I could've stayed longer! Such good beers, and the space and staff and food seem to match. They're right across the street from Full Sail, a huge player and grandfather to the PNW microbrew world. They've carved out a cool spot in an old brick building, where they can brew, keg, bottle (I think) and cook food for the taproom in all the different spaces tucked away through here. You can sit outside in one of the tables that line almost half a block of Hood River. The front door is up the hill, and there's bar space and dining rooms inside there too. Nice old wood construction, cool stained glass in the windows, nice clean bathrooms. A welcoming space for the whole family. These guys are known for great IPAs, big hearty ales up and down the style ladder from IPAs, and some nice krieks (sour cherry beers), among other things. The beer was as good as you'd imagine being poured straight from the source. We checked out the pretzel bites and they were super tasty. We didn't have time to stay for a meal or to really tour the taps, though those pizzas look amazing. I'll definitely have to come back and spend more time and see what they have to offer. The staff were super nice and everything seemed to run like a well-oiled machine; they offer live music and other stuff, too, so they clearly can handle more than just beer and pizza. We wanted to have something quick to eat that's good and concluded that this was the best place in town. There are quite a few of other breweries in town, but the pizza here is so good! I'm usually the kind of person that doesn't eat a pizza's crust, but I polished all the crust when eating here. Any big size pizza can be ordered half & half (but not with ones with white sauce) and it feeds 3 nicely. Beer is good as always - wish it's just a bit cheaper. We ARE drinking where the beer is made, so you would think there's a discount for less transport cost or something :) read more

The BLT on 5-grain bread had a generous amount of cheese and bacon, with fresh tomato (not the cardboard tasting kind). The pastrami sandwich looked great too. Brewpubs are about as good as it gets when dining with my boys and this one gets high marks all around. Mr. K got his beer itch scratched, my boys enjoyed the pizza and I liked the whole package. Double Mountain has been on my list for awhile, but it is usually crowded. So on our earlier trips we didn't wait for a table and went to a different brewpub or restaurant in town which wasn't nearly as fun. So be prepared to squeeze in and count yourself lucky if you can grab a table in the Taproom or on the front patio when the weather is nice. The other half of the space appears to be more of an open-air lounge for large groups. The pizza is thin-crust and charred. You can ask for less charring if that's not your thing and I did this for the boys' pizza. Mr. K and I shared the sausage, mushroom and onion pizza and were pleasantly surprised by the tangy sauce. The spinach salad was also excellent. Everything about Double Mountain is simple, casual and friendly. You place your order and pay at the bar. If you want a soda or juice, grab it from the cooler on the side wall. While plenty of people stayed to eat and drink, they were also doing a brisk business with folks grabbing growlers (64 oz.) to go. They have four year round beers and a handful of seasonal offerings. Came here after we were exploring the area which is a nice place to dine at along the Columbia River. The restaurant was busy when we came during dinner time so we were not able to dine outside but that is an option if you have the time to wait for it. They have a good variety of beers so I was able to pick a light beer and enjoyed it as well. For food, we ordered pretzel, heirloom pizza, and margherita pizza. My favorite was the heirloom because of how big and sweet their tomatoes were. That one caught me by surprised because I usually like margherita the most. Double Mountain Brewery is a great hip lil brew pub with tasty pizzas in Hood River. It can get crowded. We arrived for lunch and we split a salami arugula pizza and the spicy jersey with mama Lils peppers! The pizza had a perfect char and chewy crust, (I feel like it needs more Sauce but I'm always ordering extra sauce.;) For beers it is IPA land, so many choices of hop versions. Next up here is the Sours, I really enjoyed their Devil's Cherry Kriek, so dang tasty, I even had to purchase a few bottles to bring home as I have been on a sour kick! I'm giving it 4 stars because while they don't know service dog laws (I had no issues bringing my service dog in) they didn't seem to know they are legally allowed to ask 2 questions per the ADA. 1. Is that a service dog 2. What tasks has the dog been trained to preform. The woman who claimed they are discriminatory against service dogs obviously had a fake. Online registries are not required by the ADA & 99.9% of dogs with those ID cards or certifications are fake! Hell I was able to register a dinosaur on that registry she used ‍. It's nothing but a scam so people can bring their pet dogs places. For a dog to be a service dog it must be trained to preform a task based on the handlers disability. Which is why the ADA allows those 2 questions to be asked. As far as the service it was great! The food was pretty darn good & the beer selection was great. They are also dog friendly on the "patio" area. read more
