Roxy was an amazing server to my wife and I on our dinner date. She made sure the food was served promptly. The dessert was awesome. Thank you. DS and PS

Called in for 5:45 reservation for 2 on a Tuesday night. Was sat in a booth in the bar right by the waiters station. It was a noisy and high traffic area for the staff. They have a TV in the bar. That's an odd feature for a highend steak house (in my opinion). The hostess was friendly and the waitress talked really fast but she was a nice girl. Ordered the crab cake for an appetizer and had the wedge salad and a filet with upgraded broccoli and mashed potatoes. The crab cake was $26 and looked like a dip rather than a crab cake. I would not order it again. The wedge salad was good. It came with croutons and eggs which was an unusual variation on a classic wedge salad. The filet was tender and tasty. The broccoli didn't look that hot, tasted ok. The mashed potatoes were good. They included a fried cheese stick which tasted like rancid oil. I didn't like that but the steak, potatoes and salad were good. This was my first experience here. I had heard good things. Unfortunately, I think it's way overpriced for the experience and quality of the food. Our bill was $171 (excluding the tip) and we did not have any alcohol. I don't know if I'd go back. If I go back, I'll just have lower expectations and won't order the crab cake.

The food was amazing! Warm and cozy atmosphere. Service impeccable! Celebrated my in laws 50th anniversary

Very nice atmosphere with a great selection of food. I enjoyed the filet and sides as well as lobster bisque. We had the sampler appetizer platter and it was all good. We had banana's foster for dessert.

It's just ok. Does not compete with 50 Yard Line. Will not go back. Cagles is better too.

Best steak in Lubbock. Definitely better than Las Brisas. Sides were fantastic. I loved the gargantuan asparagus. Baked potato was amazing.

We arrived early evening so there was plenty of seating. Our server was Megan. She was excellent. We started off with the sidewinders - shrimp and cheese stuffed in a jalapeno and fried. They were tasty. We also ordered the steak tip salad and went old school with the chopped steak. All were delicious. I even enjoyed one of their home brews - Windmill Wheat. We were too stuffed for dessert, so we ordered a bread pudding to go... Oh, my deliciousness - I had the bread pudding later that night, I wish we had ordered two. Highly recommend it!!! Great place to eat, fun ambiance, good food, and if you're lucky, you'll get Megan as your server. We'll definitely be back!

Regular ranch and chipotle ranch were ok. I definitely prefer the green chile sticks and ranch at Blue Sky. I also ordered the chicken pot pie with creamed spinach and 4 cheese Mac-n-cheese. I was served mashed potatoes instead of the Mac-n-cheese, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The waiter got me a side of the Mac-n-cheese, but it was horrible. The cheese had a weird texture almost grainy and did not have a good flavor. The creamed spinach was very good as well as the and the pot pie. Mashed potatoes were decent, not a big fan of red skinned mashed potatoes with the skin. The server was very friendly.

The grounds are beautifully maintained, with vibrant plants, well-manicated flower beds, and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately catches your attention. I caught the two gentleman while they were working and they were courteous, respectful, and friendly throughout their time encountering me. Their positive attitudes, excellent communication skills, and willingness to answer questions reflected outstanding customer service. It's clear they take great pride in both their work and how they interact with people. I always order the filet mignon, with steamed broccoli AND ask for NO BUTTER (IBS-can't tolerate well...)... well again, everything came out swimming in butter - luckily our waiter noticed and took the plate right away (without me saying anything)- came back within 60 seconds (obviously just re-plated it)- I asked about the butter and he said " everything is cooked on the flattop in butter"--- uhhhhh?? What? The steamed broccoli?? (And since I asked for broccoli INSTEAD of the truffle potatoes, I was uncharged - & unfortunately didn't eat any of the vegetables). Every time my entree is different - sometimes it's PERFECT- other times I'm leaving only eating the steak.

While sitting in the Walmart parking lot researching places near where I'm staying for work in Lubbock, I came across The Funky Door Bistro Wine Room. I'm so glad I did. When I pulled up, I appreciated the ample parking and immediately noticed the unique wine‑glass door handles--such a fun touch. Inside, the décor is warm and inviting with wood accents, dim lighting, and a beautiful display of wines. The upstairs seating overlooking the main floor adds to the charm. The service was excellent from start to finish. I ordered a grapefruit mimosa and an egg‑white omelet with avocado, feta, spinach, and breakfast potatoes with caramelized onions and peppers. I was charged extra for egg whites, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. From the hostess to the server, the service and timing were spot‑on. I truly enjoyed my brunch at The Funky Door. Thank you for a great experience.

It was pretty crowded which is a good sign, and they seated us fast- and the staff was super friendly- Then we ordered coffee. We didn't want alcohol in our coffee (granted they have an impressive drink menu) but we just wanted COFFEE. The coffee was weak, and not hot- and then as each pour came, it clearly got colder. I think the coffee was an afterthought and really irritated us. My daughter had the avocado toast- subpar at best. A trace amount of salmon and minimal avocado - and for $25? disappointing. Don't do an Avocado "mousse" - just do Avocado. My "breakfast platter" was satisfactory and actually reasonable at $15. My wife's French toast was listed as "croissant" ....but was NOT croissant. Maybe we hit it on a bad day. Who knows. But we left underwhelmed . The waiter did remove the coffee from our bill because we had to tell him about the cold temp- much appreciated for that . I'll try for dinner in the future - but not for breakfast/brunch.

Children were crying, running from table to table and parents were not fazed in the least. I realize you have very little control with the parents. At prices these days and after raising 4 kids myself (if my children acted out or cried they were taken outside out of respect for the other patrons) I find it an unpleasant evening out. It was not just us that were affected .... Other tables around us commented and were displeased as well. Someone commented that when they came in there were very few diners .... His comment was it was probably due to the kiddos! Maybe my next review could be a bit more positive because the food was very good. We mentioned it to Savannah and she noted that we were not the first people to mention the saltiness. We didn't want anything comped but she was gracious and comped the queso. SO, we took one for the team...if you get something that is too salted....send it back. We will go back and give it another try.
