During that time, both of our dogs passed away due to old age, and our cat is now three years old. Throughout those years, our experience with the veterinarians and technicians has been consistently positive. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly dedicated to providing quality care for their patients. The reason for this review is not the quality of care, but the clinic's prescription refill policy. When attempting to refill our cat's flea and tick medication through Chewy, the prescription request was declined because our cat had not had an annual wellness exam. When I contacted the office to understand the reasoning behind the requirement, I was told that the exam was necessary to maintain the veterinarian-client-patient relationship. However, I did not receive a clear explanation of how a routine wellness exam for a healthy, three-year-old cat would impact the decision to approve a medication he has been safely taking for the past three years. Veterinary regulations may require periodic examinations before prescriptions can be authorized, and if that is the case, I would have appreciated a straightforward explanation of that requirement. Instead, the responses I received felt generic and did not address the underlying question of why the exam was necessary in this specific situation. For many families, discretionary spending is carefully evaluated. Requiring an $83 wellness exam solely to authorize a refill of an established flea and tick preventative adds a meaningful expense without a clearly communicated benefit. While I understand the importance of routine preventive care, I believe clients deserve a transparent explanation of the medical or regulatory rationale behind policies that require additional visits and costs. My overall opinion of Riverwalk remains positive because of the quality of care they have provided over the years. However, this experience with prescription refill policies and the lack of a clear & logical explanation has been disappointing and has changed my perspective on an otherwise excellent practice. Note that this might be the case with all veterinary clinics

Dr. Cordero took the time to listen to our concerns & love on our pup. She also encouraged us to consider pet insurance due to the large size of our dog. The issue stemmed from a simple and reasonable request. I had an unused prepaid service from the prior year for my pets' physicals. The service was never used and therefore cost the practice nothing. I requested that it simply be applied as a credit toward the same service this year and even offered to pay any difference in pricing. I also provided a legitimate and provable explanation as to why the service was not used at the time. Instead of being accommodating or even attempting to work toward a reasonable solution, the office was rigid, ununderstanding, and ultimately unpleasant in their responses. There was no effort to consider the situation beyond a strict, one-dimensional policy approach, showing an inability to apply basic judgment or common sense. After raising the issue, I received a phone call from a member of the receptionist team whose tone was condescending and dismissive. I was told they were not willing to work with me and that their position would not change. Shortly after that call, I received a brief follow-up email stating that my account had been inactivated, my pets' upcoming appointments had been canceled, and that I would need to find a new veterinarian. This was done without my request or agreement. Communication overall was abrupt and unprofessional, with no accountability or willingness to resolve the issue. The experience left a clear impression of a facility that prioritizes money over customer service, reasonable accommodation, and good business practice. The owner, whom I requested call me, would not. Again, pointing at poor service. To be fair, the office itself is very nice, the location is convenient, and parking is adequate. Scheduling appointments has always been easy, and their email and text reminders are helpful, so in that part of the business, they are doing something right. However, none of that makes up for poor communication, inflexibility, and a lack of professionalism. The inability to think beyond a rigid, one-dimensional approach also gives me pause when dealing with medical professionals who are often called upon to think more broadly and problem-solve complex issues that can be challenging to diagnose. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you value responsive, thoughtful, and client-focused service.

I said I am serious about buying, but how do you expect people to buy your cats if they can't meet them first? He said again, "Are you absolutely sure about wanting to buy this cat?" to which I said yes for the second time. He said "Well you have to be at least 18 or older or have a parent or guardian to adopt."..... I am 26 years old. So I told him I am 26 and he circled back AGAIN and said "Okay well do you think you're actually going to adopt the cat." I left and went straight to Petco where I was holding a cat within the first 3 minutes I was there (and I adopted her too). No wonder PetSmart has a hard time selling their animals, who would want to feel uncomfortable and berated by the staff for simply holding a cat before adopting? You guys need to change your pet handling policy. It's a SHAME you can't even touch the animals before you buy them unless you're "serious", and I was serious! I will most definitely never be coming back here. I don't want to feel uncomfortable for asking to pet a cat and for a place that "loves pets", it's terrible that we aren't allowed to love on them. Petco will have all of my business now!

Because the outside looked abandoned with overgrown landscape. It didn't feel inviting, clean like a place I would want anything to do with. I contemplated leaving so I read reviews before making decision. Seems lots of people are appalled by the looks. Well I gave it a try. I walked in talked with staff and left her for the day. I don't have anything negative, the staff I interacted with seemed friendly. I wasn't given a tour of the place which is new to me as most places have given me a tour so I snot know what goes on behind the scenes but if it's anything like the front maybe that's why. However what I can see from cameras it's not so bad. Overall I will bring again but I recommend doing something with the front. Curb appeal is a thing if you aren't aware.
