Overcooked omelette and rubbery mushrooms (canned?). Hone made thick cut bread is great!! Bacon was cold.

I like this diner, the servers and the managers and I do come regularly to this clean location for breakfast and to the Annapolis location for dinner/desert. However... ...the prices continue to be higher than they should be for breakfast. This morning I had a veggie omelette, side of sausage and coffee. My bill was $27. So, after a 20% tip I was at $32 for breakfast. That's nuts. Omelette was $17. Coffee was $3. I think the sausage was about $4. + tax. $27.11. Barring that strong price complaint which keeps me from going more often... they have the best link breakfast sausage around. The coffee is good. I don't like their bland breakfast potatoes but the toast is nice and thick. I love a good diner and this one is well managed. Bring your kids for the pies and pastries! NOTE - this review is for 2/2025. I am not sure if the omelette price went up due to an egg shortage. I was not notified of any increase nor did I see any signs.

Tons of cars in parking lot - thou not the cleanest lot. Thought there would be wait, was seated immediately. Decor very much old-fashion diner - super cute. Service was friendly and quick. Nice bonus, a lot of the entrees came with a side cup of soup - though average at best. Family got fish sandwich, pastrami wich, chix pot pie and bbq wich - again average at best. Portions are huge, so many fries! Best item was the bread pudding - daughter raved.

    Prime Rib, crabcake.

I have been going to this Diner for years and I have never had any complaints. I usually get the Prime Rib and its cooked to perfection every time. I swear it's the best I have ever had. The picture I am showing will also show my boyfriend's food which is a crabcake, he absolutely loves it, says it is the best around, filled with lump crab meat. I also love their ranch salad dressing, and let's not forget about the fresh hot challah bread they serve. Always receive top tier service at this location.

I was served this mess at 830 pm March 17, 2025. This was 20 bucks.

Had a great experience. The two waitresses were great. Brandy was excellent. Food was good and brought out quickly.

Food is pretty good, service was ok. I would enjoy my food better if I didn't have look at the dust or dead flys.

Was good for a traditional diner, very broad selection of specials. My only nit was they didn't bring any butter for my toast....

I'm pretty simple, and they do simple well every time. The killer is the racetrack soup. It's an amazing beef base soup, that's not overly fancy. I always get at least a bowl, if not a bowl plus a take home bowl. Johnny's is on my regular rotation of diners in Pasadena for sure!!!

Funny thing is the night they offered that, I had made it for my husband and he had the leftovers for his lunch, so he opted for a salad that night. In the restaurants defense, as someone that makes the dish, it takes some space to marinate the meat for a few days and maybe that's the problem....but honestly I tasted the gravy on her dish and it was great, so I understand her disappointment and maybe Jimmy's needs to reevaluate having that or finding a way to accommodate other diners. So we went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We are always looking for places to eat on the weekends, and there are just not enough breakfast places in the area. We walked in at around 8 and they still weren't real busy. We got a nice booth and were served coffee and our server got our order pretty quick. Johnny's is diner like, so everything is on your table ready to go....and what I really liked is that I didn't have to ask anyone to get a Tabasco sauce for me. It was already on the table! Both my husband and I ordered sausage and swiss omelettes. They both came out cooked done and hot with just the right about of cheese. I know a lot of places we go seem to be skimping on that, but we want to taste it in our bite and we did! Our server refilled our coffee and was very pleasant. There is nothing like the hometown vibe that are in small restaurants and this one is no exception.

Elizabeth was my server; she was great, very personable and attentive. For lunch, I enjoyed a cup of chili with a slice of sweet cornbread (very tasty) and a cheesesteak with fries. I ended my meal with a butter cake and vanilla ice cream. What a delicious way to end the meal. Everything was on point and very flavorful. I tried the butter cake because I wanted to assess if it was as good as FGI Fridays butter cake dessert. Well, side by side comparison, both cost $9.99, and both did not disappoint. However, for me, TGI Fridays was more moist and had better flavor, but it also was small. Glory Days butter cake dessert was big enough to share and was sprinkled with nuts and powdered sugar. Like I said, both did not disappoint the palate.

I found myself picking all the iceberg out. It also included spinach, feta, strawberries, and candied pecans. Everything was fresh and The salmon was still warm. So I can tell they just cooked it. I wish it included more spinach. I also wish they indicated the salad types when ordering and on the menu. The salmon was grilled and had a good flavor. I just found myself picking out the iceberg. I would have never done that if it was romaine. Other than that I also enjoyed the salad dressing that it came with. So 3.5 overall rating. They just need to add a little more spinach. At least that's my preference.
