Training with your guns should take place often and in different environments. In the heat, in the rain, wind, snow and mud. Understanding how you and your guns perform under stressful situations is what can and will make the difference if and when that day does come. GOAT gives you that opportunity to train in all environments. Training happens every week, at Double Tapp Range no matter the time of year. Based in Boise Idaho, where we get it all. I've personally pushed myself beyond my limits many times with this program and have learned a lot about what I need and don't need. My confidence behind my guns under stress significantly improved and I've been able to take what I learned there and apply it to my own personal training at home. GOAT has a high focus on the physical aspect of training. I would say that is more of a focus than firearms training because it's basically an intense workout with guns. Think, Tactical Games. Blending the two will leave you exhausted but feeling extremely accomplished by the end. All stats are recorded so you can look back after 6 months to see how much you've improved. When I first started GOAT, I had never actually climbed a rope before. I went from that, to climbing up and down a 20 foot rope 3 times in under 10 minutes after a full rotation of other full body workouts. That may not be a big deal for you, but for me that's crazy. You can seriously benefit from this course. The people who go there regularly are extremely helpful and patient with new-comers. I know, I was one. I'm thankful for a program like this and if you're interested in trying it out, just do it! It doesn't matter how capable you think you are, you'll never know until you try. They are partnered with local gun shop Stockpile Defense and with that partnership, you will gain access to special deals as a member of GOAT. Helps you to save money on ammo and gear so you can train more! If you don't have any gear, don't worry they have rental equipment and sweet rental guns. Final thoughts. Investing time and money in training will always be better than just buying another gun. I would pair this program with another form of training available in the area that focuses heavier on firearms and at home with the mantis system. It's important to dry fire when you can't go out and train because you can continue to work on important mechanics that are perishable skills. Go give GOAT a try! It is worth it!

Quick Google search landed me on Boise Gun Club's web site. They are open Wednesdays and Sundays, so I decided to head down one Sunday which also happened to be Father's Day. Getting checked in is really simple. You buy "tickets" which then you redeem at the trap/skeet stations when you squad up. Really simple system and went very smoothly. The grounds are very nice and well kept. Each trap station has a covered hut you can relax in and get some break from the sunshine between rounds. There is a large covered area with picnic tables. Inside the club house is a kitchen which is open both days serving food and drinks. Everyone working there was very nice and helpful. I am definitely hooked and will be back very soon! Likely join as a member after July 31st when they renew.

Awesome group of guys down there. The BEST thing there is the 5 stand! Great mixture of both challenging and soft targets targets that are changed every week. However, after the 6th holes, an employee approached us and repeatedly told us to speed up, then followed our group for a couple of holes . This was frustrating because we were already keeping pace with the group ahead of us, who were playing slowly. Golf is not an inexpensive, and experience like this take away from what should be an enjoyable day. We felt rushed and uncomfortable rather than welcomed as a paying customers. Unfortunately, because of this interaction, we won't be returning.

They were so insanely welcoming and hospitable to me and my entire family. When we were without white Gi's they provided them without any hassle. My boys and I got some great instruction from coach Cash Burgess and Professor J. Andrew Thomas. Our boys made quick friends in thier class and holy cow did they break a sweat. This gym was full of humble, friendly, driven beasts that will make you aware of how far in your journey you have yet to go but will also make you feel like family along the way. A great place to hang after a round a golf, as well as a destination to bike to right off the Greenbelt. The servers are really friendly, and seem to genuinely enjoy working there. I appreciate that you order at the counter, are given a buzzer, can pick your own seat, then the buzzer will go off when your food is ready. It keeps the clubhouse feeling very relaxed and we don't feel rushed to eat and go after a long round of golf. I would highly recommend stopping in and checking out the updated clubhouse.
