Located in a strip mall where the locals shop, this is a great spot for dessert. They take a bubble waffle and use it as a cone for your ice cream. You can choose the soft serve flavor, add two toppings, and a flavor syrup. It's a large serving and would be advantageous to have a friend to share this dessert.
My son recommended this place so I gave it a try. Yummmy for my tummy! The cone is a battered goodness that pulls off into these bite-sized round pieces. This treat is a light and crispy outside with a soft serve ice cream. You choose your soft serve flavor, two toppings (more toppings extra charge) and your syrup. If you're looking for an ice cream treat, try it. Your sweet tooth will thank you for it. Will I return? Most certainly.
My husband and I loved this place. The girl working was so nice and very helpful considering it was our first time. There's a sheet of paper at the front that walks you through the flavor choices & toppings you. There are some flavors/ toppings that cost extra (green tea, toasted marshmallow, fresh strawberries). We both got the specialty flavors: strawberries and cream and then Kona. The strawberries and cream was okay, it wasn't the best strawberry ice cream but I loved my green tea bubble waffle, the strawberries were extremely fresh and the toasted marshmallow was everything and more that I wanted. My husbands Kona ice cream was PHENOMENAL though. It tasted like a fresh cup of coffee. He added caramel sauce and it was the perfect addition. A little pricey for an ice cream snack but it's fun and not something you get everyday. If you can, stop by here. You won't regret it.
I just have to say, I really appreciated the owner explaining the ordering process. Because I totally forgot to check their yelp before hand on how to order. My daughters and I finally got to try Double Three, and I'm disappointed in myself for not coming sooner! Lol, so we all grabbed our form to fill out. You pick your waffle, soft serve flavor, toppings and sauce. Honestly a steal for the amount you're receiving. Placed our order, and waited outside with the buzzer to let us know when to come and grab it. I was amazed he made our 3 orders all by himself! And when we grabbed our order it wasn't melting at all. Service and food definitely gets 5*! Can't wait to come back.
Double Three has been one of my go-to's since college. The owner, Yugo is super nice and always makes my experience here so great. They have order forms at the front that you fill out before paying: - choose your bubble waffle flavor (original, chocolate, matcha (+$) or charcoal +$) - choose your soft serve flavor - choose toppings - choose finishing syrup It's a HUGE bubble waffle ice cream for only $10.50 - i think it would take 2-3 of us to finish this. The bubble waffle has a nice fluffy yet crispy texture, and holds up pretty well to the ice cream. I also like that they use soft serve instead of ice cream because it's easier to eat a softer version than having to bite through ice cream. Overall it's a great place, not only for the aesthetic but also for the overall flavor and value.
I've been two Double Three at City Square Shopping Center (in Kalihi) twice and I've been extremely happy on both occasions. Double three is located in a small storefront, has no indoor seating, and is a few shops north of Kam Bakery. It should be noted that signage (and common sense) indicate that after you're done placing your order and paying, you should wait outside so others have space to order and pay as well. Now on to the good stuff, the dessert... let's get the obvious out of the way and roughly $14 for a dessert is not inexpensive. But is it worth it? In my opinion, yes it's worthwhile for a "special occasion" or "once in a while" treat. You won't find me here everyday or even every week. The bubble waffle cone comes out warm and very satisfying, the soft serve flavors are great with the texture being just right. The toppings are fresh and delicious, but not overwhelming in terms of quantity. There is a large variety of choices for toppings and cones, but soft serve choices are limited. Also be aware of the fact that you may be in for a wait as each cone takes time, but it shows in the presentation. As previously stated, this is a great special occasion or once in a while treat for both kids and adults. Check it out and I doubt you'll be disappointed.
Yummy bubble waffles and soft serve! I don't care for getting the set because soggy waffles are kinda gross to me haha so I buy it separately. It's a bit more pricey to get it separately but it is what it is. What I don't care for is that my ice cream cup isn't always consistently filled. Sometimes they fill the cup, and other times it's lacking (like the pic I attached). I also saw that they're soon going to stop doing soft serve and offer scoop ice cream instead. Interested to see how that'll be like. Is it the same ice cream, just frozen and scooped? I hope so! At times, it'll take 20-30 min for my order since all the times I went there was only one worker. Not too bad, but I wouldn't mind if I get what I pay for (fill the cup with ice cream or at least be consistent about it).
This ice cream dessert snack was everything I hoped it would be and absolutely perfect after school. The flavors of the day were Kona coffee and birthday cake which are SHOCKINGLY exactly me and my partners favorite flavors!! So we got the flavors of the day. There's so many topping options you can create any number of combinations. You can also just get ice cream if you don't want the bubble waffle but let's be real, you came for the bubble waffle so you better get the bubble waffle!! My little concerns were that the one staff member working there kind of ignored us for a minute. She was in the back of the store doing something. We stood at the front for a minute with our written orders ready before she came to talk to us. And even then she wasn't very friendly... And then my other very minor complaint was that there was no indoor seating. It's hot out here for the summer and eating ice cream outside before it melts all over you is near impossible. Still, I would absolutely come back, I'd just adjust my expectations!! Make a plan for eating in the car or eating QUICKLY. We enjoyed our desserts very much and even managed to run the rest of our desserts home and put them in the freezer for later!
Came here after having dinner across the street at Chengdu Taste with a friend and I am SO glad we did. We were lucky that they weren't busy at all so we were able to order right away. I got the matcha bubble waffle with chocolate ice cream and oreo crumbles. It was FIRE. The bubble waffle was soft and chewy, made fresh right then. The matcha flavor was subtle but there. The ice cream is more soft serve style so it was really creamy and nice to eat. The whole thing was really enjoyable. Really cool how many flavor combinations they offer! I will definitely be back to try some new things.
Yummy! These bubble waffle soft serves are huge! Could easily feed two people with one icecream. It was $10 each. The waffle is so delicious and freshly made. It's a cute little small shop and you order on a piece of paper when you walk in. You have to wait outside and wait for your over to ring when it's ready. The icecream was very filling and definitely Instagram worthy. Loved the toppings but the bubble waffles is the best part. Don't tilt your icecream or the inside will fall out!
You honestly can't go wrong with ice cream, their dessert is so cute & delicious it looks like a work of art which is probably why it does take a while to make it especially since usually only one person is making everything. It's one group allowed inside at a time the place is very small, you fill out your own custom order in the front so you get exactly what you want theirs a lot of options to choose from. Some of them cost more than the others so keep in mind it can get pricey depending on what you order. The ice cream itself is not too sweet & the bubble waffle taste very light you can just pop it off and eat it. Usually by the end it's more waffle than ice cream but it's still really good. Theirs a lot of parking in the location so you don't have to worry about being on the street, Overall great place if you want to treat yourself to something sweet.
My first time trying out Double Three, and it was pretty good. The customer service was great. You check mark your choices for soft serve flavor, toppings (2 items & some toppings cost extra), syrup flavor, and bubble waffle flavor. My picks were vanilla soft serve with a reese's cup, and oreo dust as my toppings. I didn't want any syrup flavor and my bubble waffle was charcoal. The charcoal bubble waffle is a smokey vanilla flavor. Just a heads up, the cost is over $11 dollars. I think it's worth it because the size, amount of ice cream, and added bubble waffle. The soft serve was pretty good. It reminded me of Mcdonalds soft serve. The customer service made the experience good. She was kind, and patient when we took several minutes to decide which toppings we wanted. They give you a buzzer, so you can wait outside and explore the area while you wait. Would I come back? Yes, I would.

Really good waffle cone, really good ice cream , and really REALLY slow service. This place was obviously very popular; despite it being in an area with less foot traffic. Unfortunately, there was only one worker to deal with the large groups of customers. There were three orders ahead of us and it took over 40 minutes. We saw big groups coming in afterwards and I cannot imagine how long they had to wait, but it seemed like a lot of pressure on one employee. They really need at least two people working here at a time because their product is very good and they are attracting a lot of people. If I had faster service I would have enjoyed it a lot more. read more
Been seeing the pictures from this place and was wanting some dessert while on oahu.. Thought we'd give it a try. Honestly, I thought it was filled with soft serve, but it was just scooped ice cream. The wait was a little long, but when I saw it he artistry that went into it, I didn't mind waiting. They put so much care and effort into every order, making it look so perfect. Perfect for the 'gram kinda dessert. I thought it would be pretty looking but not to good tasting... Boy was I surprised. The bubble waffle was so tasty! Each waffle was like biting into a true waffle (I had the impression that they were gonna be air filled, like ones I've had before), but these were so yummy!!!! Literally the only bubble waffle cone shop in town, the employee described it as a a slight Mochi texture, which I thought was relatable. I had the waffle cone with the mud pie ice cream and an Oreo cookie /reeces garnish with chocolate syrup! It's so delicious that I'm craving it looking at my own photo! read more

Love the puffle waffle! They take time and care into the design of the toppings and making it look so pretty. The only reason why I knocked off one star is because of the time it takes. Please plan for at least 10 minutes of waiting if not longer if they are busy. It takes time to make the puffle waffle. Worth it for a treat every once in a while and if you have time. read more

If you want Instagram worthy food photos, you need to come here! It's a small storefront so it's easy to miss unless you happen upon it or know exactly where it's located. It's located in the small shopping center in Kalihi where Sugoi's, Ubae, and Young's Fish Market are located. It's a few doors down from Ubae and across from Sugoi. The entrance is shared with another shop but once you see the sign, you'll have no trouble finding it. To order, you go to the counter and fill out the order form. You choose what flavor bubble waffle and ice cream you want, 2 toppings, and 1 syrup. Certain toppings and syrups may have an additional cost. You can also get only the bubble waffle with no ice cream. Be sure to write your name on your order as that is how they call out orders as they are ready. Because the waffles are made to order, the wait can be long depending on how many orders are ahead of yours. I'd say it takes about 3-5 minutes between orders. The bubble waffles are crispy on the outside yet they have a chewy texture. It goes well with the ice cream and it's actually not bad when it gets soggy from the ice cream. There's a few tables and chairs and the walls are painted in vibrant colors that add to the fun ambiance of the this place. Like most people, when I eat something sweet, I need some water. Unfortunately they don't offer complimentary water- you'll have to pay for bottled water. Other dessert places put out a water cooler and small cups for customers to help themselves. Maybe they will consider doing this one day, especially considering that their product costs almost $8.00 for a basic bubble waffle ice cream cone. If you get specialty or additional toppings or syrups, you'll easily be paying $10 for your treat. Is a small cup of water too much to ask for? While it can be pricey and the wait can be long, it's yummy and fun to eat- enough that I went back three times in one week. Try it and see for yourself! read more

Finally! Since their opening we've finally remembered to stop by here at Double Three in Kalihi! We ended up ordering the Strawberry ice cream waffle with kit kat & pocky sticks! We've tried similar type of treat back in Mesa, Az, but this is just as good! The only reason why I gave it a 4 star is because it's a little claustrophobic in there. Not that many seats , but they've just opened up recently so totally understandable. My son & I enjoyed our treat & will definitely be back for more! read more
Tried this place for the first time. You choose what you want by writing everything down on the piece of paper that's on the counter. I ordered something simple. I got vanilla ice cream with fruity pebbles cereal. The wait was worthwhile because the waffle is made fresh. If you don't feel like having ice cream, you can just order the bubble waffle. If you love sweets and will be vacationing on Oahu, I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed. read more

So i have been trying as many dessert places that i can on Oahu. I was interested with the concept that it was ice cream in a bubble waffle! It was better than i imagined! It was so big it was like a meal in itself! I put a lot of extra toppings on mine! It was so worth the trip to double three! Next time i go i want to Try their ube ice cream!! Mahalo! read more

We stopped here for my son's bday with the intent of my son enjoying this nice little treat but unfortunately I ended up eating most of it lol. It is quite a sugar rush but definitely worth it. Adding toppings quickly adds up so you definitely have to control yourself. I ordered the bubble cone, with Oreos, a pocky stick, a toasted marshmallow, condensed milk, a macaroon, and whipped cream and ended up paying about $11 in all. I think the fun of it is probably all the diff toppings you can choose and of course the bubble cone. This ice cream was pretty good but I've had better. read more

Egg bubble puff waffle has to be one of my favorite Chinese snacks ever. Its crispy but soft at the same time. This shop iş. located in City Square shopping center in Dillingham. Their sing is shared with a vape shot called puff & stuff which is a bit funny. But they have a main door that you walk into then it splits off into two different stores. Egg waffles on the left and vape shop on the right. The shop is not too big and there was about 4 small tables for customers to enjoy there yummy snack. The decoration of the place is really.cute with a yellow wall and a hand painted art design. There was only two people running this place when I arrived and this placed seemed pretty.popular. Each egg puff waffle is made to order so it takes some time for you get your order. Be patient, its yummy! You first fill out an order sheet thing you bring it to the cash register for checkout. You have the option of getting the egg puff sundae $7.80 or just the egg puff itself $3.80. For the Sunday you get to pick flavor of the puff (original, matcba. chocolate) the ice cream, 2 toppings, and a syrup. They also provide daily special ice cream in limited quantities, it was azuki beans when I werjt. But I got their non-fat yogurt option instead and it tasted a bit weird to me. My bf described it as a protein powder soft serve which was pretty accurate. I didn't like it lol. Besides that the rest was really yummy and the staff was nice. This place does not have the best egg puff waffle I'd ever had, but it one of the better ones on the island. Would def come back! read more

Stumble into this place after we had lunch in the area, got lucky with 40%off because it's their soft opening. I really like the simple menu makes it easy to order and the waffle is really fresh and crispy with a hint of citrus in it blends well with ice cream . Double three is soooooo good. I love their waffles. I've had quite a few bubble waffles but they're usually really heavy and hard to eat but theirs are exactly the way you'd expect them to be -light and fluffy. I even just order waffles sometimes they're so good. read more
I have seen this place all over my Instagram feed for a few weeks now and finally got the chance to try it. I got the matcha waffle with chocolate ice cream, Oreo, macaroon, and pocky stick toppings and whip cream on top. The ice cream was very good, it went well with the Oreos and pocky sticks. The waffle was alright. Not the best tasting matcha thing I've ever had (and trust me I'm a matcha freak!) The wait was a little long but they do say it can take up to 45 minutes during peak times so we didn't mind. Parking can be a little crazy too considering there's so many great shops in the center as well. Was it worth it for me? No. But my friend did enjoy his order so I think this shop is worth a try at least once. read more

I never give 5 stars unless it's totally extreme. So this is my highest norm of great items. The mixture of chocolate puff and strawberry ice cream was yummy. I also love that they had all the little extras that I could choose to put on, which I took full advantage of. Put some sliced almonds, whip cream, and topped with drizzle of nutella...soo yummy! I had prefect timing and they was just a trickle of people and the wait was short, but by the time my dessert was ready the line was crazy and almost out the door. I stumbled upon this little gem on instagram during the holiday season and saw that they were having a soft opening sale so I decided to take advantage of the discount and grab a bite. It was a little hard finding the place because it was so brand new and there hasnt been much word about it. They share an entrance door with a smoke shop (Puff N Stuff), but then there is another set of doors separating the two stores. I kept seeing Puff N Stuff, but not Double Three. BUBBLE WAFFLE (~$8) Being that it was their soft opening weekend, they were out of a few things, so we ended up with an original waffle, vanilla ice cream, oreo topping, fruity pebbles topping, almond chip topping, and chocolate syrup. The size is huge! It was enough for two of us to enjoy. The size and volume of the dessert makes it worth the $8 price tag. WAFFLE: The waffle was amazing! I love the crunchy texture of the outside, and the chewiness of each ball on the inside. Although original may not sound as exciting as the matcha and chocolate, it definitely was still delicious! ICE CREAM: The ice cream was just ok. It wasnt bad, but it wasnt great either. This whole place would be elevated if they used a better ice cream that taste amazing. TOPPINGS: You can choose up to 2 toppings and pay an additional 25 cents for each extra. The toppings were fun and good, but the downfall was the execution. It literally is only on the top of this massive dessert so you run out of them after the first few bites. I would love to see the toppings mixed in or at least have some between scoops of ice cream. That would make the entire eating experience more enjoyable instead of ending up with just ice cream and the waffle for 3/4 of the dessert. AMBIANCE: The store is really small and have very limited seating so make sure you dont go at peak hours. The wall art is colorful and cute. It has natural light coming in, making the store bright and inviting. SERVICE: I felt very comfortable in there and thought the service was great. When I was there it was just two Japanese speaking workers who make the dessert on the spot. I also liked ordering on a sheet of paper so that you can take your time thinking about your creation. No pressure to make a quick decision! OVERALL: I would definitely come back again, but am hopeful they will make a few tweaks. Very cool place! Worthy of an insta pic, but the treat itself make it a three star place. Looks very pretty and I love that, but it was just regular ice cream and they put one of each topping on it. The workers weren't very friendly, although it was pretty close to closing time so I don't blame them, but we were not the last group that came in. Maybe I chose the wrong toppings and sauce, but I wish they would've done a little more of each. The cone itself was really good and very unique though. Enjoyed this experience but I don't know if I'd come back as a regular customer with the price and service. Very expensive but very pretty ice cream cone. read more

Would definitely recommend and we WILL be back! For both it came out to around $14. Not bad at all. The shop is pretty small with 4 tables and seats but really colorful. Very good option if you are looking for dessert after your meals! read more

Came here for the first time today after a friend recommended it to me. When we walked in it was really packed, but I immediately noticed that almost no one had food. Everyone was just waiting. They have a little sign at the front that says it can take up to 45 minutes which is insane. We got little papers and wrote our orders down. It took about 15/20 minutes to order and pay. We went and waited outside after that because it's a really small space. The line of people never stopped. It ended up taking around 40 minutes to get our order. Once we got it, it was great! Everything was delicious and the waffle stayed crispy the entire time. I got the special flavor of the day which was ube with the original waffle, pocky, fruity pebbles and whipped cream. Super good and would get again if the wait wasn't so long! read more

My only advice: choose plenty of toppings!! Go crazy! I wish I had chosen more. The waffle is warm and crispy on the outside, and doughy in the 'bubble' and the ice cream is good. Not amazing, but good. The toppings add much texture and variance so again, I say, throw as many toppings as you can! read more

Super creative and fun dessert place! The waffle cone is unique and delicious! They offer many different toppings on local homemade ice cream! The only downfall is that the place is quite small so it can be hard to find a place to sit and enjoy your treat. Definitely not a place to go with larger groups. read more

Thought this place was ok. Got the chocolate waffle with the vanilla ice cream and some toppings. The chocolate waffle was not very flavorful. My ice cream had pocky sticks as a topping. They were stale! Plus this place i wayyy overpriced and it takes too long for them to make the ice cream cone. i would recommend another ice cream place. read more

So this is something new. It's like a waffle cone with chewy (on the inside) bubbles all around. It's good, even by itself!! It's made to order so when you first get it, it's still warm, and that's the best time to eat it!! I got to try the original AND the chocolate waffles. They are both so good, I really can't say which was better. It's has just the right amount of sweetness and it's so good that you can actually finish this giant dessert by yourself. (Well, I did, anyways, and I'm not a super big sweet tooth kind of a person.) The ice cream is good too, and the toppings (macaron and pocky) made it extra fancy! I definitely need to go back to try the matcha! Be patient if there is a line...wouldn't have a line if it wasn't good! And you gotta eat it freshly made! read more
