We ended up here after trying to find a cool and cozy bar that also had hot non-alcoholic beverages and it was funny because in my original review (which I was showing my friend while we were there). This coffee bar located along Main Street is a nice pick for your caffeine needs. The Irish Coffee Martini is the sweetest of their espresso martini options and was well balanced while still being coffee forward. We had two rounds of the Too Loco for Coco shots which were surprisingly good. They also offer small bites such as chips and ramen. Service was timely without being aggressive. Popped in with my best friend almost 11 months ago to this day for our annual best friend holiday date (just made that up so I'll let her know tomorrow) for a quick shot or two. This place is perfect for a GNO, date night, or just a quick pick me up before going out! A friend brought me here for the first time a few weeks ago and I already have plans to bring others here soon. The bar itself is pretty spacious - lots of seating available inside and on the covered patio. The vibe of the place is pretty cool as well. The service was fairly quick considering how busy the place was. I got the Kimono Cold Brew and my friend tried the Kentucky Coffee. The Kentucky coffee was a hot coffee drink - which I was skeptical of but tasted delicious. I really enjoyed the Kimono Cold Brew. I love vanilla iced coffee, so it was great to try it as a cocktail. We also got a Pink Slip (Pink Slipper - can't remember the name)? All were really good but I will say if you come here I would definitely order the coffee cocktails - I was more impressed by these than the Pink Slip. I will be coming back!! read more

The "caffeine & cocktails" concept makes an excellent space for intimate meetings: first dates, casual work space, or my personal favorite usage of grabbing a drink before taking the lightrail to any NRG event! The menu features an almost equal number of alcoholic to non-alcoholic options - many being coffee cocktails, of course. There are a couple packaged snacks for sale, but no real food menu. There's also a covered patio with a large TV out front. A group of 4 is probably the maximum number of people to find comfortable seating in the small coffee shop. One more door in you'll find a chic upscale bar with mood lighting and a full list of cocktails. They had over 5 different expresso martinis to pick from, but I went for a solid old fashioned followed by one of my favorite beers. Double Trouble is definitely the place to be! My family and I found this hidden gem looking for coffee downtown. Boy were we in for a treat! The mixologists at this bar were AMAZING, and by far the best we've seen in the Houston area. I can't even call them bartenders because they were mixing our drinks with pure passion. It was wonderful to sit at the bar, have a few drinks, and watch these ladies do their thing. The best way I can describe this spot is a luxurious English Pub. The decorations on the wall definitely were great conversation starters, the high bar stools and tables gave a great aesthetic. Ultimately, this spot was so chill we stayed until they closed then went for pizza and headed home. We will most definitely be coming to try any drink the ladies recommend hands down 10/10. read more

Vibe- This is a very cool coffee shop that sells coffee and cocktails as well! When you first walk in there's a room with chairs/tables and a big TV. The bar area is located next to this room and there's 4 high tables, 1 table, and the bar area that seats about 12. There's green plants all around the bar and there's a tiki them! Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I ordered a hot latte with vanilla and oatmilk, it was good! I had watched a play at The Match nearby. A friend and I were looking for coffee. Yelp led us here. I was hungry and they don't serve food. They don't have decaffeinated coffees so I didn't order any as it was late in the day. I chose a non-alcoholic drink, the Pinkie Swear. It's overpriced at $9 and served in a small glass. It had been several years since I visited this place when I was living in Midtown and was happy to see that not only is it still open but has been renovated as well. I always enjoyed it in the past, but it did have a bit of a divey, "distressed" feel to it previously, which could be charming but sometimes felt a bit dingy. With the new construction, it now has a cleaner, lighter feel to it, while still maintaining the tropical, somewhat Bohemian vibe it had before. Unlike many coffee shops that offer limited selections of beer and wine, Double Trouble (DT) is both a coffee shop and a full service bar, offering all kinds of liquor and cocktails. They have all your standard coffee options, with beans sourced from local roaster Greenway Coffee, There is also an extensive cocktail list, both of old classics as well as ones unique to DT, complemented by a selection of beer and wine. Additionally, at the intersection of the coffee shop and bar is a menu of espresso martinis and other coffee-infused cocktails that give you the best of both worlds. I started off with drip coffee while reading and later moved on to an Irish coffee martini (Irish whiskey, Irish cream, fresh double espresso, and nutmeg) once I was joined by a friend. Neither drink disappointed. The coffee was bold with an excellent flavor, and the Irish coffee martini was smooth and creamy. The two critiques I have of DT are the parking and speed of service. The place is located right next to the light rail, and as such, there is only street parking available on side streets, which can often be hard to find in Midtown. As far as service, there were two bartenders working when I visited, but neither seemed to have much of a sense of urgency or at least skill in quickly preparing cocktails. I waited about 7 minutes after ordering for the bartender to finish the cocktail before me and then complete mine, and I watched others experience similar delays. Such criticisms, however, are not enough to prevent me from returning or to cause me to not recommend the place to others, especially considering its uniqueness as a bar/coffee shop concept. read more

I live in midtown and had no idea this gem was so close by. It combines two of my favorite things: coffee and alcohol. The espresso martinis are amazing with multiple flavors to choose from. Their non-alcoholic latte was perfect as well. The atmosphere inside was chill and eclectic and great for a catch-up with friends or a calm coffee date. I ended up trying their iced coconut latte..but found nothing special.. tasted like a regular iced coffee but was given in such a small glass it felt like I took 2 sips and it was all over. Really cool spot! Located in midtown of Houston. It is tucked on the corner. Be careful where you park though. Not the greatest part of town but if you park in the garage, you will be fine. As you walk in there are many spots to sit on the patio and inside. They have a mixture of caffeine and cocktails to choose from. You can get your fix and cocktail at the same place. I didn't see if they had food or not. I chose the Bloody Mary since I was recovering from a night of drinking before. Spicy and tasty. Garnishes were fresh like the tomato mixer and had a nice, salted rim with Tahin and salt. I would not come here for the Marys but it worked like a charm to get rid of the hang over. Cute little coffee and cocktail bar near the midtown area. Cute outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Service was excellent. We sat on their covered patio which is adorable, but unfortunately homeless people were in and out quite frequently. The homeless population is a bit dense in this area. Parking is tough, which is typical in the area. There is a paid parking garage very close to the place and street parking if you can find. I enjoyed a cocktail very similar to a French 75- the pink slip; as well as a cold brew coffee. read more
