This review is for the hotels's restaurant not the hotel itself. My doctor said I need to eat more leafy greens and more protein. So a steak salad it is! Strolled down to the restaurant here at the hotel and ordered me a steak salad. About 15 minutes later out came the salad. Up to the room I went. Open the salad container and found an abundance of salad and a decent amount of steak. They didn't ask me how I wanted the steak, but it came medium to medium well. That's fine. You get a ton of salad and about eight strips of steak. Just what the doctor ordered! Everything about the salad was good. You get a choice of five different dressings. I went with the Italian dressing. It wasn't over the top tangy, I found it to be just right. read more

Checked in electronically and the digital key was sent. When I got to the second floor the key disappeared. This happened to me last year at this same hotel. Went to front desk and they said "Oh; that's because your room wasn't ready yet". This was at 4;30pm and I'm a Diamond member, not that that matters much any more. The hotel is under construction EVERYWHERE! Got the the new room they assigned me and it smells like someone puked on the floor. This place needs some real hard TLC....And that's an understatement! I travel for work and always stay at Hilton brand hotels. This year I've stayed 62 nights in hotels. I have never experienced such a horribly maintained doubletree in all of my travels. I was not informed that they were under construction until I arrived. The front desk employee said they stop everyday by 530pm. He did not say they start around 750am though. After a long day I got ready to take a shower and realized there were no bath towels in my room. I called the front desk and was told they would bring some right up (this was 10pm). About an hour later, still no towels the front desks calls to say things got busy and they were coming right now. I received 1 bath tiwel and 1 hand towel (I requested 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths) around 11:45pm. Hopefully, once the renovations are completed this location will be a better representation of the Hilton brand. Currently it felt like a cheap roadside motel. read more

Very convenient location. Quiet rooms and clean. The food we had for dinner was very good. No problems. Would stay here again.

We arrived much later than anticipated and our room was ready my family. I noticed a sign saying, pardon the crumbs that they're going through a renovation of some sorts. The next morning at 8 AM I was awoken to some tapping on our window outside on the second floor. Woke to see a man on a lift doing some work. Shortly after that, it sounded like there was some drilling or some sorts on the floor near us. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. The staff was very nice and the room was decent. However, I wish I knew that this hotel was going on a renovations before making the reservation. As far as the room itself, it was clean. There were some broken things. One of the lamps was broken, one of the door hinges in the bedroom was broken. The tile in the bathroom was completely separated from the wall, and the dispensers were no longer attached. It seems like a solid three star hotel, but with my observations, I'm giving it a two star. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Worst hotel experience in my life. Checked in on 7/27. Room slightly smelled like mildew but tolerable. My family was shocked to see that no cleaning service has been completed on 7/28 and 7/29. Complained to front desk and they told me that their staff did not show up for work.I asked to speak to a manager and they assured me that a manager would reach out to me. I have still not heard a word from them. On 7/30, I saw a letter under my door (see attachment), which said that because they are honouring their "hard working" team, there will be no housekeeping. What a ridiculous lie. Even though I booked my stay till Friday, I decided to leave a day early and book a room elsewhere. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere next time and will be boycotting all DoubleTree branches due to this shambolic service. Shame on all of you read more

First we checked in and were so tired, I could hardly think. Long travel day and sleepless night. We were told at the desk about the bar and kitchen opening up in a few. So tired means let's stop driving for the day so why not try it. It was so worth it. Smaragda, our bartender was great and of course since we are close to the border... we drank the beers of the locals. I picked Buffalo Fan Zone, an India Pale Ale by Ellicottville Brewing Co. and my spouse had the Molson Light Lager. Our dinner choices were the Light Breaded Shrimp and the Crab Cake. Sorry no pictures they were gone so fast I couldn't pick up my phone. Brianne Hall, Assistant General Manager stopped by to check on my opinion of the Fan Zone. They had just gotten it in today and I will tell you it scores a Touchdown for me. This was a highlight of our stay, we were treated like celebrities. Also we weren't the only ones. While listening to Smaragda interact with some children when waiting on them, they were like royalties. I wanted to say we had breakfast here and Diana our server was fantastic! The food was great and freshly made to order. Must stop for sure when we travel this way again. read more

First room they sent us to, the lock mechanism on the door had a dead battery. The second room they sent us to, the sink had leaked all over the floor. The third room they sent us to, the floor was so worn the wood veneer was gone on the edges of the boards in half the room. Staff was nice but this hotel needs help. Hubby booked this place for a little getaway, and unfortunately, our stay was not the best for over $200/night. The room appeared to be okay, but there were flaws that I could ignore. The first issue was the black mold in various spots in the room, especially on the ceiling. Yet this hotel have signs up that they take pride in cleanliness. Our room was not clean, and evidence was found in view after we were visited by 2 bugs. One came out of nowhere near the curtain, and one was in the shower that was found after 3am. There were cob webs that were found under the cupboard. The bed was cozy was my positive and the breakfast that we purchased was not bad either. read more

Wow. pretty disappointing. I got a suite which was disappointing only one of the elevators worked, the housekeeping units swarm the hallways with walkie-talkies so loud it sounds like a policy raid or a taxi dispatcher convention outside in the hall. the office chair at the "desk" is slow beaten up and low to the ground -- it wouldn't raise up enough to be truly functional -- so I called the front desk and being a hilton Diamond member as I am, they sent up another equally dysfunctional chair. Pretty much everything is worn out. The pool is a nice area but the sheet amount of chlorine in the air makes it all but impossible to use if you dn't want to hurt your lungs. The location is decent, though it is a couple doors down from the national guard post ourside the redroof inn that is currently at capacity housing immigrants. Perhaps this has some impact on the security at the hotel which is locked down fairly tight. On the plus side many of the housekeeping staff were pleasant. I didn't have a chance to eat at the restaurant. Anyway, overall pretty disapointed given the price. read more

The absolute worst! This hotel is in dire need of an upgrade! The locks are missing! The furniture is outdated. There's red smears all over the walls. There's no carpet on the floor. The rooms and bathrooms are crammed. Absolutely horrendous! I asked for a bigger room and they didn't bother to help, they said the floor plan for all the rooms is the same. The hotel itself was decent; the room was clean and the amenities were fine. But after the experience we had last night, we will never be using this hotel again. Our room was booked on the first floor, for some reason it was right beside a room full of hockey players and their rowdy parents. The group was having a party in the room, with people coming in and out constantly and shouting in the hallway. Now, I don't begrudge anyone having a good time... but by 11 pm the party had been going on for hours and we were trying to sleep. The constant noise was keeping us up. We mentioned this to the front desk (more than once) and were told that the group could have the room until midnight, and then they would be asked to go stop the party. By 4 am, the party was still going strong, and despite everyone's complaints (not just our room), nothing was done. Eventually the police were called and did the best they could to disperse the party at the hour. According to the police, they were instructed by the hotel management NOT to kick anyone out of their rooms. We absolutely appreciate the police doing their job, but the lack of sympathy from the front desk was frankly insulting. Not once were we offered to be moved to a different room or any other workaround. The hockey parents were clearly the priority and not the other hotel guests. Needless to say, we will never be staying at this facility again. read more

I rarely write reviews but this was prob one of my worst hotel stays. There's so many hotels around here.. literally try anywhere other than here. Thank god I was only here for two nights. Shower tepid at best (awesome when it's 18 degrees out!) The mess left by the obnoxious guests (that hotel staff did *nothing* about for 3 days) Friday night wasn't cleaned in the lobby by the time I left on Sunday morning. Water in the lobby never had ice and looked generally old and gross. Guests (some teenage sports group) screaming and slamming doors all along the third floor until about midnight. Burger at the restaurant was actually OK though. Staff looks pretty miserable for the most part. All around a bad experience. I don't book with Hilton often, and I won't again for quite some time. read more

This hotel fell short of the Hilton standards. Since I was here for work, I didn't have a lot of options besides this hotel, given the Marriot next door was even worse rated. The room was adequate, but it was pretty dusty. Maybe that was a good thing as it could imply that it hasn't been occupied recently. The free cookies at the front desk were delicious, and the staff was friendly. The gym was small but adequate. There was an indoor pool and a jacuzzi, but we didn't get to partake. Plenty of parking in the lot. Not a lot of good dining options nearby. read more

YUCK! When we checked in we found someone's half eaten dinner and banana peels in a drawer, another banana peel on the top of the closet, sandy stuff on the bedspread. They 'couldn't' give us another room but they came and cleaned up. Afterwards, we discovered mold on the bathroom ceiling and walls. Everything you need to know about this place was exemplified by the 32" TV manufactured in 2007 that was sitting in the room. For the price of this room, it's time to make some changes. The room wasn't dirty as some report, but the floors felt greasy. The laminate is coming up in areas and it just looks dated. Same for the furniture. This place probably looked great when it was remodeled during the Bush administration. Had a mini frig, but it was turned off. 2 towels in room. Inadequate for 2 people. Now the staff. While some have said the staff was great, I didn't experience that. Front desk person was ambivalent at best. Asked if I stayed there before, and when told "No", she didn't follow with any information that might have proved helpful. Finally, quite begrudgingly delivered the HHonors benefits. Very doubtful I'd stay here again. Overall, Hilton has let the last 3 years move them down the ladder in satisfaction by taking away basics we all expect with hotels. Wildly inconsistent standards, as we see here, but seems my last couple of stays at Doubletrees have been far inferior to other Hilton brands. read more

I always stay at doubletree because they are usually pretty good. I'm not high class or anything so I don't need a bunch of fancy stuff. This hotel had issues. The TV was small, the wall had some ketchup or something all over it. There was a kids hockey team there and they were running all over the place. The hot tub was closed because kids were acting wild. The lady who checked us in was nice and let us in early. But every other Staff member I interacted with was rude, and didn't care. The good... the breakfast was a good price. The water pressure was great. read more

The hotel staff is great. The hotel itself is old and needs a lot of updates. Very strange setup with some rooms having microwaves/fridges and others not even though they're the standard options (I've stayed a few times and had to learn this the hard way). Definitely don't recommend rooms on the 1st floor for bugs. Also don't recommend in the main hallway where I ended up last time. It was loud till late at night and then again early in the morning. They also only have a limited Starbucks type bar in the morning, not the regular restaurant or meals I'm used to at Double Trees. read more

We didn't stay here but we ate at Cappuccino Restaurant this morning-DELICIOUS!! I had 2 eggs over easy, 3 strips of bacon, bfast potatoes and rye toast with a Starbucks coffee, my daughter had same except white toast and a cold latte. Service was quick, food delicious and hot and atmosphere nice!! They'll make you anything! Prices were great! Only wish we knew about this place from day 1!!! Out of all the hotels I've visited over the last few years I found the employees here to be top notch. From check-in to check-out we encountered friendly service, people who took pride in their job and truly cared to make sure we had a pleasant experience. And I sure wish I paid attention to their names! The girl bartending was SO personable and fun to be with while we enjoyed our dinner. She was also extra nice to our pets which made us feel all the more comfortable about staying there. The waitress who took care of us at breakfast was also a delight. In a world nowadays where it's rare to find good service l feel those that go above and beyond should be recognized and these employees did just that! If we ever find ourselves back in the area we will for sure stay here again. read more

I stayed at this hotel in Buffalo for a concert trip with my mother. The staff was awesome and very attentive on greeting and making sure we were happy. They were concerned when I misplaced something and encouraged they'd keep an eye out. The last day we flew out they kept our bags at the desk while we did some errands and then went to the airport and it was a nice relief to not carry around my luggage everywhere. I would totally recommend the hotel to anyone staying in the area. Clean and easy to find what we were looking for. The cookies were my favorite perk hands down and the coffee shop inside. Only recommendation I'd give is to expand the suite shop for more options. 10/10. Loved the experience. read more

Very disappointed in this place and certainly not what I expect from a member of the Hilton family of hotels. There was mold in the room (ceiling), some flies, and the flooring was coming up in several places. The TV did not work properly, displaying a poor picture. The ice machine did not work. We planned our day Friday to eat our meal at the hotel only to find out there was no dinner service. The hallways needed cleaning, and there was trash in the elevators. Worst of all.......there was no coffee on Sunday morning. We will not stay here again. read more

I'm a diamond member and stay at The Double tree brand quite often and this is by far the worst experience at a double tree that i have experienced. The first room was so disgusting, it reminded me of a lower end motel room so I had them change us rooms. The second room was a little better but still poor cleanliness was an issue with dust and hair everywhere and at which point It didn't matter If I complained or not because I'm sure it's an issue with this establishment. This one is going to be kind of a hatchet job of a review seeing as while I did indeed spend a night at this property, the amount of time spent in the building was limited which means that my exposure to what they offer also is limited in the context department. Parking: We got in fairly late on a Saturday night and while things in the small lobby were very busy we had no issue finding a parking spot close to the front door. Check In: Somewhat chaotic as there were a lot of people in the lobby which created a lot of noise and it was tough to hear the guy that checked us in as he spoke on the quiet side. After two attempts he procured the correct number of cookies (we wound up pitching all but one either due to lack of interest or because within fifteen minutes of being out of the warmer they were already sidewalk paver hard) we hit the elevator. Room: Some of the reviews for this property mention the rooms as being spacious and maybe they would be if you were traveling alone or if you were a circus midget but if you have three or four people in one of their two queen rooms spacious is not what I would call the rooms in particular the bathroom. The bathroom is a special little place where you can put your arms out and touch the walls on both sides at the same time. Yes, that small. If one person is in the shower and another person comes in to drop a deuce the 2nd person likely would be charging with homicide via asphyxiation. Also worth mentioning is that the track for the shower door had all kinds of dirt-funk-rust on it. Extras: Didn't have the time or inclination for the pool and they don't really have a restaurant exactly as it's more like a cafe with a small seating area plus a small nine stool lobby bar that also happens to take food orders. Technically we were entitled to two free breakfasts but skipped it due to the lackluster menu and lackluster seating options. Check Out: Normally don't do it and even if I wanted to the desk was swamped as there was a bus with a group that was beginning to load up and there were people everywhere again like when we checked in, making a ton of noise. Overall the bed was comfortable enough and the location was decent being close to 290 and 90 but know that if you're expecting more a full service environment with all the "bells and whistles" or even a regular Doubetree property this one is sort of lacking. Another reviewer put it best when he said this place is like putting a round peg in a square hole in terms of matching the brand of the hotel versus what is actually offered. read more

Terrible experience checking in. Double charged and told I would have to speak to manager the next day. Finally got into the room after A LOT of confusion and attitude from the front desk worker. Got in the room and looked up and saw what looks to be like mold on the ceiling. The blankets were dirty and floor sticky. I've never been treated poorly by a Hilton employee and I've always had a great experience with the Hilton chain. So disappointed and disgusted with this Hilton. Walked into this room and it was very dirty. The vents in the shower looked like they have been left for months, dust was on every surface, I had stains on the bed, the AC unit had bugs and dirt on it. The concierge were beside themselves when I showed them photos and were very accommodating to the issue. They apologized and put me in another room. It seems that they are very short staffed here. They have a shuttle that can take you anywhere within 5 miles, which is nice considering I'm visiting on a work trip. Overall not the most luxurious experience. read more

I travel a lot. I notice things some hotels do, rather, things most hotels do. This hotel, unlike most hotels, does not have any exterior or interior garbage cans. The result is bottles cans and other garbage are strewn upon the grass, sidewalks and other areas. I had to walk to the public restroom to use the garbage can on the other side of the hotel. In doing so, I noticed other people had done the same thing as there was a food container in the restroom garbage. Maybe they can't pay for a person to empty the garbage or they cannot afford bags. I hope they get more funding if this is the case. Or maybe they're just cutting corners and problem solving in a very unbecoming way. I avoided the food and beverage service because if they cut corners where I can see, where else are they cutting corners??? Made my stay unpleasant. If I could give this hotel a 0 I would. The hotel is so bad I am leaving a review while I am still here. It's old, beyond dirty and the staff is horribly rude. I checked in and there was a massive hairball left in the shower drain, clearly the room was not cleaned before I arrived. The hallways are littered with food and debris and the hotel has not been updated I'm anyway, rooms, decor, paint etc, in at least 20 years if not more. The hotel employs a meathead who thinks he's super tough knocking on doors at 10:02 PM threatening to kick you out for violating the hotels "noise policy" which I have reviewed the website and can not find for the life of me. He also got in an 11 year olds face and threatened him because kids were playing in the hall and making too much noise at 8PM. Horrible hotel and harassing staff, don't waste your money here, you will be in happy with your stay. read more

It started off well- we got free shuttle service from the Depew Train station in their cute cookie logoed van. Greeted by super sweet girls for check in and got nice warm chocolate chip cookies (one of the reasons i love DT so much!) Got connecting rooms as requested. One we got to the rooms, it was just really odd. I did read some of these things online on trip advisor, but i guess it didn't really sink in how strange everything was until i got there. This is not your typical doubletree hotel. It was a remodeled hotel, which they stated, so i wasn't sure why i still booked here. Those damn cookies. They have hard wood floors which squeeked with our shoes (good thing we brought slippers). No Bath, but a half shower. It really bothered me that you hang your towel to dry yourself IN THE SHOWER. It doesn't get wet cuz the bar is at the end, but it just didn't feel right. lol. The lighting in the bathroom was very dim. and the Sink was OUTSIDE with literally no counter space. You get the usual crabtree and evelyn toiletries, but there hardly any room to put your makeup bags. I dont' see how 4 people could stay in one room all together comfortably like this... The beds were really high. Good thing our TV worked, as others complained of that, and we got plenty of good channels, even NFL network and HBO. I wouldn't have minded some of these things if it were not a Hilton Hotel, but the real stickler was that the room was NOT CLEAN. When i opened the shower, i saw about 5-6 long hairs which were clearly visible. It freaked me out and i went to inspect the bed which also had a few stray hairs. I just felt really dirty. They fixed things up, but it just left me uncomfortable most of the stay. The staff were all super nice but i just wished that my room had been cleaned more thoroughly so i wasn't wigging out and could have gotten a better nights sleep.
