Aside from the above mentioned issues I was pleased with the wide range of amenities here which include: an outdoor basketball court, swimming pool, fitness center, business center, conference room, guest laundry, snack pantry, complimentary WiFi, 24/7 staffed front desk, outdoor patio with fire pit as well as barbecue grills! Good location. Busy hotel. Early morning guests are noisy. Rooms definitely aren't soundproof. Our room was spacious. The highlight was the high toilet. Our knees appreciated it. THANK YOU. Didn't like that the sink was actually located outside the bathroom. Disturbing to whoever is still in bed. Housekeeping was efficient and we liked that the room had extra towels stocked in the closet. Overall, our second stay within 3 years was good. My wife and our two small dogs stayed at this Residence Inn when I was in town on business. I wanted to preface this that I've stayed at many Townplace Suites/Springhill Suites/Residence Inn's and am used to the extended-stay properties, and I mention that because I don't expect the type of service and amenities as a fancier property. The services at this Residence Inn got the job done. - The units are in outdoor townhouse style units as opposed to in one big building. - The room was clean, nothing broken. I used the stove and kitchen supplies to cook to keep my food costs lower. - I didn't opt in for housekeeping but I could always get supplies (e.g. toilet paper) with a call to the front desk. - I brought my small dogs and they have a grass area dogwalk-type path in the back of the units which was convienient. I like the dog-friendliness of these extended stay hotels. - Their complementary breakfast with some hot items, yogurt, granola, cereal, toast/pastries wasn't out of this world but got the job done. This place is right in the heart of Downtown Arcadia and there are plenty of food and drink options within walking distance (like Lan Noodles). The location in Arcadia is easy to get around in the San Gabriel Valley as wel as access the major freeways. The main thing I wanted to mention is on my stay, we forgot an item in our room, a handheld theragun massage tool. I realized it after we already got back to the Bay Area and called the hotel, the GM Izzy said she's check, and 30 minutes later I got a call back that they found it. Izzy put me in touch with her Assistant Manager Mary Jean and said if we paid for a UPS Shipping Label and sent it to them, they would pack up our item so it could get to us. That kind of customer service is a little bit above and beyond so I appreciate they were so helpful because it's easy for things to get lost or thrown away by accident in a cleanup. Usually I love residence inn, it's great for families esp with the kitchen appliances. 3 stars for the complimentary breakfast and ample parking. Breakfast had bacon and eggs, waffles, yogurt. The room was nice but the air conditioning did not work at all. It was so hot at night. The windows don't open all the way which is understandable so we had to leave the door open for an hour to get good air flow. We checked in late with a big group and by the time we settled in and realized it, it was too late to move. So please check the air conditioning and make sure everything works! read more

This location reminded me of a place I enjoyed in Pensacola, Florida. These are essentially one bedroom studios cluster together like mini townhouses with three to four units in each cluster. Though costly, I did enjoy most features of this location, including the daily breakfast which was always well stocked no matter what time of the available hours I arrived. The room was the largest I've stayed in while in California, with a open-floor design featuring a legitimate kitchen, two person dining table, very large restroom, and living room area with a couch facing the t.v. and a nice sized work desk. There was a larger sliding glass door allowing plenty of light into the room, in addition to a one and a half foot wide long vertical window by the work desk. Lighting was plentful. I enjoyed waking the semi-enclosed area around the suites durng the evening, The pool was nice sized and outside, and there was a work-out room in the main building open 24 hours, It featured treadmills. The laundry room had plenty of machines and was located in its own building next to the pool. Each machine cost $3.00 to $3.50. The front desk staff were all very helpful and friendly from beginning to end, and I appreciated being able to do a 2 PM checkout on my final day. I never felt unsafe at this location and didn't see any sketchy people here. There was a security person riding on a golf cart who would monitor the parking areas.. Housekeeping was available every other day, and required after 7 days. I didn't ask for house keeping because the room was very clean when I arrived and I was only staying a week. If I put my trash outside the door, housekeeping picked it up. There were only two negatives about this location, that I can recall. 1. There was considerable noise from outside the front door. I could hear the neighbors if they were standing outside their door talking, arguing in their room and when their door opened and closed. Occasionally I heard foot steps across the ceiling, but it was not very loud. 2. When I first arrived, the room smelled mostly clean, but after the third night, I started noticing the smell of urine near one side of the bed. This smell grew each night afterwards, and I eventually moved to the opposite side of the bed. I had my air purifier running and it helped filter the smell, but did nothing for that side of the bed. I smelled the blankets, bed, etc. and it wasn't those items. It seemed to be coming from the carpet on the floor. This location does allow pets, and they did put me in their last room which was a room usually booked by those with a physical disability, so either a pet peed on the floor, or a previous guest didn't make it into the restroom that was three feet away from the side of the bed. The restroom had no smell. The TV had normal movie channels, YouTube, Pluto TV, Netflix (account required) and Prime (Account required). I ended up watching lots of movies on Pluto for free. During my last day, after checking out, I waited in the main buildings lounge by the front desk, which prevented me from having to wait an hour in my car on a super hot day. One thing I thought was unusual was a bottle of water that was on the work desk that had a large price tag on it for $6. I asked the front desk about it, they told me they put it in the room incase guest wanted to buy it. I didn't drink it and I hope they didn't charge me for it. I carry a 24 case of bottle water with me. I did set-up one of the camera's I carry to monitor the room while I am out. I am happy to say that no one entered my while I was at breakfast or out on an evening walk. Considering the included full breakfast, the suite essentially being a small studio apartment, being within a 10-minute walk from the Metro A-line train, and amenities, I feel the member price I paid was appropriate. read more

WARNING: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Retaliatory Cancellation & Dishonest Management. This is the most unprofessional and unethical hotel experience I have ever encountered. The hotel charged my card an unauthorized $103.20 on March 13. When I disputed this, Assistant GM Mary Jean committed a shocking act of bad faith: she sent an email promising a refund, then RECALLED the message, leaving it BLANK to destroy evidence of her commitment. Worst of all, less than 48 hours before my international arrival (March 26), the hotel sent a RETALIATORY CANCELLATION of my prepaid reservation simply because I cited California consumer laws (SB 478) to protect my rights. This "eviction" before arrival left me stranded and is a severe breach of hospitality ethics. As of now, the hotel is still withholding my $881.20 prepaid deposit without providing any refund receipt following their cancellation. This property is a repeat offender with a history of misleading pricing and hidden fees. Do not trust this management. Your safety and money are at risk here. read more

This place is GROSS!!!!!!!!! We booked a two bedroom suite and boy were we disgusted when we checked in! I never sleep in a hotel without fully checking the room, including the beds and I was so disgusted about what I found. I nearly vomited! Both mattresses were completely covered in disgusting, yellow and brown stains, blood stains, and some mysterious black things that are quite possibly bugs or mouse poop who really knows and I wasn't about to find out because I didn't touch it. Every surface is full of dust. The ceiling has stains from water, the carpet is disgusting so is all of the furniture not to mention the foul smell that you would think housekeeping would recognize when they walk in. This place is one of the most disgusting hotels I've ever seen in my life . I was not expecting this from the Marriott name. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel under any circumstances!!! You'd be better off to sleep in your vehicle and that is not an exaggeration. The front desk workers are nice, but that is not enough to redeem this disgusting cesspool of a hotel! read more

This hotel is our new go-to lodging when we're in the San Gabriel valley/LA. It is just 5-10 minutes from City of Hope and very conveniently located amongst a ton of food choices (from chains like Red Lobster, BJs and Olive Garden to local Asian food favorites including boba, teppanyaki, Chinese food and ramen) as well as a CVS just 3 minutes away. Check in was a breeze - we got in late, at about 9pm. Front desk was so nice and caring. We were very happy to see our room - we opted for the bilevel suite and it was nice and roomy. The queen bed upstairs w/its private bathroom in a loft was perfect for kids (we could easily hear them because it's a loft). We took the king bed downstairs. The pull out couch is a nice touch if anyone needs more room. Everything was clean - no complaints about the towels, kitchen or any part of the hotel. Beds were also comfortable. Free breakfast was great - this is the ONLY Residence Inn or Springhill Suites chain that I have seen offer free cold brew w/the morning breakfast. They had choices of breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwiches, mini quiches, eggs, bagels, oatmeal. Staff is consistently polite and kind. Check out was also quick and easy. Floor around toilet is grimy and peeling apart. Any hotel that won't do daily housekeeping immediately looses 1, maybe 2 stars off the review. This place just turned me off from the get go. The clerk that greeted me was friendly but asked too many questions. It got a little awkward. We pull up to our room and we use the HC parking but low and behold a maintenance vehicle was parked in the area between the two spots for handicapped which made it difficult for my husband to maneuver his wheelchair around our vehicle. Walked into our room and it smelled. Don't know what smell they were covering up but whatever it was the deodorizer didn't work. The room was otherwise clean but just felt old. Then we walked into the bathroom. The floor was old, discolored, stained, not level, and not safe when wet. They have a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor because the shower floor isn't level so it drains to the middle of the bathroom. You can't even put a floor mat down because it gets soaked and is useless. We used the fridge & freezer, both were clean and in good working order. The bed was very firm if you like that. The next morning we drove up to the front to get the complementary breakfast which was good. They had a good variety to choose from plus they had strong coffee . As we went to park in HC parking at the front office, again there was a maintenance vehicle parked in a HC spot. You may not have many that need the HC parking but it is illegal to park there for a reason. This place definitely was not worth the $200+ we paid. read more

Unfortunately, I had a very bad water damage my condo and needed to stay here until renovations were complete. It took much longer than anticipated. Our initial check-in was very pleasant. We found Sharon the front desk concierge to be extremely helpful, courteous, and accommodating. She checked us in without any issues and even changed our room because the original room smelled like smoke. As our stay there progressed, things started to go downhill. Another front desk clerk named Russell or Randall began to treat us as if he were our landlord instead of the front desk clerk. This guy had no customer service skills or communication skills. This establishment also attempted to give my room away while we were still guests to other guests leavingbus nowhere to stay. Randall or Russell whonworks the front desk took it upon himself to decide we could not stay beyond a certain date. When does the front desk make these types of decisions? I had to speak with the general manager and call Marriott Elite because that one front desk clerk. He made it a horrible experience while we were already displaced and dealing with the disaster of our home being flooded. We didn't need the added stress from the hotel as well. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because not all the front desk staff were rude, but that one clerk Russell needs training on implicit bias, racial diversity, customer service and communication. read more

If you're looking to pay Marriott pricing for the Motel 6 experience, complete with filthy and run down rooms, this is the hotel for you. There were stains in the room, lots of them, in various places. There were stains on the curtains, light fixture to the left of the bed, bathroom door and trim around the window. I'm not talking about some small blemishes either, they were large and various colors on each area listed. The next issue came with the door used to enter and leave our room. It was too short, and even with a door sweep at the bottom, there was a gap between the door frame and the door that a large amount of light shined through (as well as bugs could enter, or someone place their fingers under). Not only does this make for an early wake up call as the sun shines in, but it also shows a security risk as well as cleanliness issue when any bug could come and go from the outside (not to mention poor energy efficiency as the AC would run and literally go out the door. Going along with the door, the rubber flashing around the tiles at the entrance was broken in the corner. We used to live in LA, I realize the insulation in the buildings is poor. However, we previously stayed at the Courtyard a few blocks away and had no issues with sound. This Residence Inn however, because it seems to be residential properties converted into a hotel setup, every single sound could be heard from inside the room. Every person walking outside that was talking, every time someone went up and down the steps, every car that drove by the road that was right outside the unit could be heard from inside the room. When you're in the room trying to relax or sleep at the end of the day, the last thing you want to hear is literally every single noise possible; it wasn't an environment to relax and recuperate. Perhaps the biggest cleanliness/sanitary issue is the floors. They appeared clean, but as soon as you walk across them, when looking at the bottom of your feet you quickly see that your foot was dirty and covered in black dirt. At first we were confused, however we quickly discovered what it was after wiping our feet off with wipes after the initial discovery and our feet again turning dirty after walking across the floor. The room has clearly not been properly cleaned in some time. The last two issues stem from the bathroom, as previously stated though, there were stains on the bathroom door. The door itself was also chipped in the bottom left hand corner with paint peeling off of the door in the corner. Lastly we have the air vent in the bathroom too, it was completely covered with dust; it takes seconds to wipe this down, you can tell it's been months since anybody wiped it clean. I tried reaching out to Marriott, their response was meager at best. The public deserves to know what they're staying at before they arrive. read more

As a former marriot titanium elite status rewards member, I am very dissatisfied with how my situation was held. Booked a reservation few days in advance, and showed up to check in. I received an email saying travel may be impacted due to stay at home order. Sure, no problem I review the email and order. Email: "Arrival Experience - when you arrive, you will be prompted to remain socially distant 6 ft apart, guests must wear masks, upgraded cleanliness, etc." Under no where in the email says guests must provide a letter of documentation from your work to stay in a hotel, and after a quick search on the web and under the California Hotel & Lodging Association - "There is no requirement for a hotel to request any proof/documentation from an essential worker nor is there any single type of travel authorization for essential workers." Anyways I understand this is a private entity, and if this is the case, you need to state in your email requirements that you WILL be turning away all travelers without a letter of documentation from your work, as you have stated when I checked in. Hotel staff can make or break a property, and the crew here does not disappoint. Are they really that friendly and helpful? Yes. Current pandemic restrictions aside (no full breakfast, lobby closed off), everyone seems to go out of their way to please. Small pool (closed at this time, 9/2020), and full-sized basketball court). This property's layout is more like a condo complex -- and it's a bit of a maze -- so hold on to your trusty map (issued at the front desk). One bedroom units are downstairs, and the two bedrooms are upstairs. Inside your two bedroom unit is another open stairway to your second floor, with a queen bed upstairs and another full bathroom. King bed and full bath are downstairs behind closed doors. The living room includes a working gas fireplace and plenty of seating, as well as a dining room table that seats four. The full kitchen (immaculate on my visits) includes literally everything (pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, oven, stovetop, microwave, full-sized fridge with your own ice maker, dishwasher, coffee machine and coffee pods, sponge, dish soap, paper towels). What the glob, right. If the price is right, upgrade for the two bedroom. Double height ceiling and all. Tricky add-ons? Parking is $10. A zillion markets and restaurants within one mile in either direction of this property. Join free Bonvoy loyalty program (for all Sheraton and Marriott properties) to get upgrades and such. Let me preface this by saying I travel a lot for work so I have seen it all (or a lot) when it comes to hotels. We stayed in the loft (king bedroom on the first floor and queen bed in the loft) and the room was clean. Cleanliness is huge to me and was pleasantly surprised at the level of cleanliness of the room. Typically if you wipe the floors in a hotel room you will see dirt on your cloth but this was not the case so kudos to housekeeping for thoroughly cleaning the room. The beds were comfortable, easy access to the pool, laundry room and the employees at the front desk were extremely pleasant and helpful. Parking is $10/night and the laundry is $3.00 per wash (bring quarters) I could not give this hotel 5 stars because the room was dated (popcorn ceiling and one wall painted orange), cleaning only happened once during our 6 night stay (staffing shortages) and I am not a fan of carpet in hotel rooms. Also, the pillow in the chair was tattered. Hopefully, the rooms can be updated and carpet can be removed by the time I take my next trip to SoCal. read more

We had a great stay in a very comfortable studio. The bed and couch were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and was all up to date. We had a view of the mountains and the breakfast items were very good. The staff was very pleasant and my hubby spun a wheel and got free parking. My family and I live in the area but we stayed here when our pipes burst and work was being done on our house for 2 months. The staff here are simply amazing! Both Miguels, Anthony and Izzy, everybody at the front desk, housekeeping, groundskeeping... They are all simply wonderful!!! We had our dog with us and it is very pet friendly, There is a lovely grassy walking path with two waste stations towards the back of the property which our dog absolutely loved. We stayed in one of the two level rooms and it was perfect for our family especially for our 2-month stay. The neighborhood is very safe and there are plenty of places to eat within walking or a short drive. It is even close to the local light rail. I was able to work from home using the standard Wi-Fi and did not have to pay for the faster Wi-Fi. read more

You have to pay $30 for parking every day you stay there, was a non smoking room and it smelled so bad I also have younger kids and they didn't want to do anything about that, I would not recommend staying there with that type of service mostly with the virus going around. read more

We were very grateful when our kids booked us a suite with a kitchenette because they wanted us to be comfortable during a longer stay. None of us expected the result. We were booked for an ADA accessible room with a roll-in shower but, when we arrived, found that they had only a tub shower available with no shower seat. That room was OK but when we finally switched to the roll-in shower room the experience deteriorated. The clerk that checked us in, Luzy, was a corporate parrot and ineffectual at best (incompetent at worst). After our first night we set about rectifying the shower situation and Miguel at the desk was able to find us a roll-in shower room but that room felt like a downgrade. The worst part of it was the bathroom floor. Not only did it not appear clean due to the grouty grout, but the unevenness of it made it hard for a mobility impaired person to navigate. The kitchenette range hood didn't work, neither the fan nor light, the carpet was icky, and the bed uncomfortable. The breakfast was standard hotel fare. Not the Marriott experience we've come to expect. read more

We have stayed several times. Latest was a little disappointing. Price was much higher. Maid service was advertised as every two days which seems standard these days. I had to call and ask for clean towels at the end of the second day. The staff said maid service was every THREE DAYS. I asked why only two days of towels was provided. Sad to say we are looking for a better offering in the area. With their high priced offering it should not be a problem to change places. Sorry Marriott. Had my motorcycle stolen out of the parking lot. You would think they would have a better surveillance system. I was told by the gentleman at the front desk it's illegal to have a camera on the back side parking lot because it's a public area. If that's the case why is it gated (which is supposed to be locked at 10 pm)? They were no help at all and pretty much said tough luck. If you decide to stay here make sure you are aware of possible theft to or your vehicle or of your vehicle. Do not park in the parking lot on Santa Clara side. Hopefully no one ever gets robbed or possibly worse. I did give a star because the cleaning staff was great. read more

Checking in was difficult due to computer issues. Staff was pleasant and trying hard to figure out why the system was not working. She added 5,000 Marriott points for the unexpected trouble. It would have been nice to have been greeted with a smile Bi-level suite is spacious, two bathrooms is a plus but even with the renovations there is still some work to be done. Our bathrooms bathtubs needed some tlc. The look calcified and yellow. The refrigerator was full size and cold as Antartica. There are plenty of dents on it but it works so that's more important. It may be a bit tricky to find your room and the corridors feel narrow to me. The grounds are taken care of by thorough and very polite workers. There is a newer looking Sport Court (basketball), a bbq grill for you to use by the pool, and lots of towels. Breakfast looks pretty decent. Eggs, spicy sausage, toast, oj,apple juice, and waffles. Coffee is pretty good too! I think their breakfast is above par from other places. We went too late and there was very little left. The manager took notice and gave my boys some Hot Wheels and some tickets to get a free item from their little market. I thought that was really nice!! All in all, it's not luxurious but then again, it is not designed to be. It is functional and comfortable and family-friendly. I would come back. read more

This review might have been better had my coworker's had not been next door at the embassy suites with a full cook to order breakfast, full bar at the manager's reception, and atrium rooms where you didn't hear the nearby freeway noise - all for the same price. The Residence Inn staff was great. The property is a little dated, hard to find, and a really odd layout - it was definitely an infill. I say "dated" because the noise from the freeway could be heard within the room. So, newer "sound proofed" windows are needed. I was in bldg 14. The first night I had to park a block away (in the parking lot) because of limited parking & the place was packed with AT&T trucks from Texas (avoiding CA taxes?? Lol) . The breakfast was not up to Marriott normal quality. Scrambled eggs that I had to "scramble", if you know what I mean. Two kinds of sausage (pork & turkey) - no bacon (yes, I'm a bacon guy). We had a bad experience in this hotel. They did not have any plates, glasses, pots, spoons, or forks. Bad customer service. The bathroom shower water controler was bad. Either it sprays extream hot water, or extreme cold water. They do not meet the standard of Marriott. Do not book this hotel. read more

Very different from any other Residence Inn I've ever stayed at - or hotel in general. Looks as if this was once an apartment complex take over. You'll be lucky to be checked into building 1 as it is near the front desk/breakfast. Another (weird) thing that stuck out to me was the layout of the rooms. Bedroom door faces directly to the bed. Nothing stellar about the rooms and they are in a bunch of separate buildings so if the weather is bad you have to endure it to get your breakfast or go to the front desk for any reason. Worst of all is that these pigs innocently ask you when you check in whether you will be parking a car and if you say yes, you will be slapped with a parking fee of $15 a day. My brother helped me book this place last minute because I had forgotten his home key while my place underwent fumigation this past weekend. The ladies that worked there Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon were super friendly, polite and helpful, tried to accommodate me as much as possible. I really should have gotten their names to let the management know how great they were. The room I stayed were super clean and well furnished. When I came into the room the TVs were setup ready to go and remote carefully placed on the counter. This place deserves it's 5 star! read more

Upon check out, we noticed that we were charged a $150 pet fee that we were not advised of either at time of booking or when we checked in to the hotel. Given that we used mobile check out, we didn't find out about the charge until we'd already made it to the next stop of our journey. We called Marriott to dispute the charge, and they told us that it's up to the hotel to do the right thing and refund the charge. They admitted that they are required to tell us about the fee in advance. Thus far, no contact from hotel management and no refund. We have had platinum stsfus with Starwood (now Marriott) for years. This kind of thing never used to happen. The program has gone rapidly down hill following the merger. Additionally, this hotel is not in a nice part of town. The parking lot is super sketchy, and I made sure to triple check that our door was locked before going to bed. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place for women traveling alone. The stay was great. We accidentally left a $40 water bowl behind in the room. Staff took it instead of turning into lost and found. Thieves work there. I won't stay there again and I'll tell all friends who usually stay there what happened. Word will get out. You can't trust staff who work here. They'll steal your belongings read more

Very recent stay as of last week of July 2023 thru first week of August 2023. The first impression upon arriving to our room we saw trash and debris on the outside near the door. The room was okay for what we needed. The mattress is not that great. The complementary breakfast needs improvement. What looked like bacon was paper thin and they kept putting out the worse sausage egg cheese biscuit everyday and very dry bagels. Tasteless orange juice, but good coffee. Please improve the variety of food items for the guest. Best part of the stay was the housekeeping staff and the guest at the front desk. Everyone so polite and customer friendly. I loved the location of this place from Los Angeles and other surrounding areas. It really could use some TLC for the price. read more
