I like the Double tree, stayed here two weeks in a row. Staff were great. Free warm cookie @ check in. Rooms are nice, clean. No funky smells. Excellent location down town. Several restaurants within walking distance. Nice Italian restaurant Casa de Canzonetta on 1st floor is not associated with the hotel, just happens to be in same building. Great food, $$$ pricing, tho you do get what you pay for which is quality. You will have to park in back of the building (parking garage) and walk your luggage around to the front, or use the pull through at front to drop off your bags first. Key card required to use elevator. Great views of downtown if you ask for an upper floor. read more

Gorgeous hotel in downtown Youngstown. It was a quick work stay so I didn't get to do much in the area but I can attest that the hotel is spotless and nicely decorated. The room and bed are cozy. I was woken up surely in the middle of the night by some loud construction type noises. Not sure where that came from. The warm cookies are always a nice touch. Coffee needs an upgrade. read more

This was my first time at the double tree and it didn't disappoint. It's in an older building that has ambiance. The rooms are overly spacious. The my could use some updating but overall it was a good value and a great bed. They have parking onsite and change a daily fee. Slightly annoying given it's Youngstown but ok. The restaurant on the main level is excellent. The food was awesome as weee the bartenders. read more

Everything is always in working order, the rooms are always clean,, the beds are always comfortable, the accommodations are very friendly and the service is amazing. Arrived late at night Group of young ladies sitting outside the front door being vulgar. Cookies were hard and cold. Bed was hard and no water pressure in the shower. Went to the restaurant inside the hotel the the breakfast was HORRIBLE!!! Over easy eggs were well done, cold toast and coffee was awful. The hotel is in the historic Stambaugh Building that was built in 1907, and it was renovated several years ago. Property amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, convenience store, meeting rooms, business center, self-parking that costs $12 per night, and a restaurant called Bistro 1907. Room amenities include a large-screen LCD TV, mini fridge, free WiFi, limited room service, and on-request housekeeping. Weeks in advance, I reserved a king-bed hotel room for two nights for a total price of $312. Of course, prices vary based on the time of year, day of week, and type of room. Right before check-in, my husband and I parked our vehicle in a garage that contained some scary-looking vehicles (e.g., cars that were apparently sitting there for a very long time and one that was missing wheels). We talked with an employee on the phone, and she advised us that we could park our vehicle in their nearby parking lot. For check-in, we waited in line for a few minutes. The employee was friendly, and she efficiently checked us into our room. I felt surprised that a sign mentioned warm cookies, but no cookies were offered to us. The renovated building maintains its historical feel. In the common areas, the elevators, stairs, mailboxes, rotary phones, and doors have an old-style appearance. Our room was nicely updated and clean. We were on the tenth floor, and we had a view of the parking garage and some buildings in the city. We ate two meals in their onsite restaurant Bistro 1907, and the food and service were good. During our visit, an Italian festival was in the neighborhood. Ample (secure) parking, extremely clean rooms, great location and reasonably priced. This hotel is close walking distance to the Covelli Centre and some fun bars. The restaurant on the lower level is really good but really expensive (my crab & avocado salad was $32). We would absolutely stay here again! read more

I wish i could give it 5 stars, but it gets sabotaged by the service. First, they clean the room every 4 days, which is too long. You can request sooner service, but they didn't clean when I requested 2 days in a row, and once they left me with no towels. Also, the mattress had lost its firmness, if it ever had any. Now the good: hotel is modern , but keeps it's old world charm. High quality materials and furnishings. Location is great, walking distance of restaurants and bars downtown. read more

We were attending a graduation ceremony in Youngstown and chose the DoubleTree to stay at. A day prior to our arrival, my fiance called the hotel to see if we could get an early check-in, and was told that 1pm should be available. Upon arrival at 1pm, the front desk associates told us nothing was available, and kept us waiting in the lobby for over TWO HOURS, while making excuses that our rooms were still not clean. Our event was at 3, so we managed to get changed in a family member's room and make it on time, while my fiance's parents had to get changed IN THE LOBBY BATHROOM! I went and told the FDA's that this was UNACCEPTABLE, and honestly it felt like they couldn't have possibly cared less. That and one of the FDA's had a nose ring of a Playboy bunny - really classy staff they have at the Youngstown DoubleTree. Overall, I know hotels can't guarantee early check-ins, but jeez, just tell us the odds are low before we drive almost 5 hours to be there at a certain time. Super super unprofessional, and not apologetic in the slightest. If the staff had seemed like they cared, we wouldn't be upset; this stuff happens. But they simply just did not give a ****. Besides the horrendous check-in experience, the hotel is decent overall. Our room was nice, spacious enough, however the water pressure in the shower was absolutely the WORST I have ever seen - next to impossible to get a shower with it. Also, the shower is the type where only one door opens, so you to reach in from the back, turn the shower on, get wet as it hits you, and THEN let it warm up enough to get in. Overall, I would not come back to the DoubleTree in Youngstown, primarily for the egregious lack of concern from the front desk staff. Forcing my fiance's parents to get ready for a formal event in the lobby bathroom was just too much. Just goes to show you can have a beautiful property and staffing it with the wrong people can absolutely destroy the experience. read more

I'm really shocked how nice this was. The room was huge, high ceilings, spacious, I felt very high class. The view was great. With the doorman paired with the old timey look of the building I felt like an old school aristocrat. The restaurant was nice with a great bourbon collection (blantons, stagg jr, bookers) at a reasonable price. My only complaint would be the 2.5-3 foot shower. The room was so big that the tinier shower surprised me. Ultimately it doesn't really matter, this place has to be the nicest in Youngstown, it was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, in Ohio. read more

The hotel use to be an office building in the early 1900's and they kept the beautiful marble walls along with the early 1900 vibe. Large window views, spacious bathroom, large two queen bed room ( but my friend got a 1 king room that was quite small and paid more). The restaurant has great food and service. Nice size fitness center. Not too fond of the parking situation. If you park in the garage, there's no connection to the hotel, so you have to walk out of the hotel to the garage. read more

Stayed at the DoubleTree Downtown Youngstown for one night for my sister's wedding. The hotel charged my credit card for two nights unbeknownst to me. When I tried to have the situation rectified Hiltons customer service hung up on me and it took half of my day to have the situation addressed. Four days later and my money still has not been refunded. I feel like I've been robbed. I will never trust Hilton with my credit card again and I'm an honors member. Be very careful using your credit/debit card and ask for a receipt. read more

This hotel is a complete joke. The charges are through the roof and the service is horrible. I should up to check in at 630 pm on a Friday night and the room was still 'not clean' had to wait approximately 45 mins for the room to be cleaned. The next morning even though coffee is suppose to be served in the lobby at 6 am, there is nothing available at 8 am. The issue is not that they ran out of coffee, it just hasn't been served all morning! Horrible experience!!! read more

Had a terrible experience with the cleanliness of this hotel. We arrived late in the evening when it was dark, and did not realize until the next morning that there was dried rice all over the floor from the previous guest. The floor had obviously not been vacuumed. The housekeeping staff had also left a cleaning rag in the bathroom. In the morning, the hotel texted to ask how our stay was going, We replied with the issues. Their response was simply, "We are sorry to hear about these issues. We will not send housekeeping in to your room." Since we didn't get a satisfactory response via text, we approached front desk staff about the issues. The front desk staff member we spoke to offered housekeeping to come in, but we did not feel comfortable having anyone in our room during our stay because of COVID. She explained that it was likely a new member of the housecleaning staff who had cleaned our room and suggested that he didn't use the correct setting on the vacuum. There was no way the room had been vacuumed at all because there was dried rice everywhere that even an old vacuum on a low setting would be able to pick up. It was extremely frustrating that she made non-sensible excuses and did not address the issues. If the hotel is not attending to cleaning basics, I do not feel confident that they are following the sanitation practices they claim to be following re: COVID. To make matters worse, several front desk staff members were not wearing face masks even though the region has had an uptick in COVID-19 cases in the past few weeks. read more

Pleasantly surprised! Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, and very comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It has a beautiful view of downtown Youngstown. The parking was a little strange as we had to tell the parking attendant we were checking in otherwise we would have to pay. Then we had to check in and come back out to our car to put our parking pass in the car. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and modern. The restaurant smelled amazing. The main lobby opens to the restaurant and the main desk is on the second floor. The king room was very large, clean, and comfortable. My only complaint is we turned the thermostat down to 60 and it was still so hot in the room. Looking forward to staying again! read more

Great hotel, close to everything. High end restaurant downstairs with an amazing bar. If you're going to stay anywhere in Mahoning or Trumbull county, stay here. This is a very good spot to stay very good area to get breakfast and meals. My only one question is why are the ceilings do very high?

Have stayed at this hotel several times in the past 2 years and service was normally good. However, during my most recent stay things have fallen below the bar standard in terms of room cleanliness and hospitality service. Specifically, when I arrived in my room I noticed that overall things looked clean, then I glanced at the chaise lounger at the foot of the bed. It was disgusting and covered in what appeared to be human stains. This completely grossed me out. Not to mention, the rest room wash clothes were not clean or bright white. Call the front desk and was moved to another room. Upon arriving at this room, the chaise lounger was soiled in some stains but not as bad as the previous room. My husband and decided to just push it to the side as it was getting late and call it a night. Upon showering I noticed the poor quality of the wash cloths and towels, not the clean white ones we had in the pass and definitely a lesser quality. Nonetheless, I proceeded with my routine as I went to turn the shower on the entire shower handle moved and revealed a large opening behind. I could not grip the handle to turn on and when I was finally able to by using my rag, the hot water was limited. Moving on the shower floor was not as clean as it had been during my previous stays and you can start to see how the overall maintenance and hotel upkeep is not been maintained at the high bar level which it was in the past. Although the price is what I normally pay elsewhere, the quality and amenities are below to be bar. Usually, you get fresh cookies upon your arrival, not this time and the upon checkout the front desk representative did not even bother to inquire how was my stay, which prompt me to express my review. As a customer and person who previously worked in the hotel and hospitality industry, I clearly understand the level of expectations each room is supposed to be and most importantly, I understand good customer service and how valuable the guest are to any business. Overall, I understand the strains of the Pandemic, but it is no excuse for poor service and booking rooms of poor quality. It is nice having a hotel in Youngstown as the city needs more business to help revitalize the economy and restore the cities beauty. The hotel needs to step their game up and at the very least provided customer service accordingly to rate. After this stay, I packed up and unfortunately took my business to the Courtyard in Canfield for the rest of my stay. read more

I booked online thru a third party. Was not informed of a parking charge. On the web site for price line it clearly says Free Parking. There wasn't a microwave in the room. We had a 1/2 used roll of tissue. Breakfast was not included either. The room was clean . I just think its a overpriced hotel that had no perks to offer. read more

Okay. So I have stayed here multiple times for weeks at a time in various types of rooms. I truly love the place but I have a few suggestions... one. I think in the suites where there is a kitchen/bar area aside from the room there should be an extra trash can. Also.. tonight I am in a king suite with a foldout couch.. I think the foldout area is crazy! One, there should be a light in there. Also the coffee table is bulky and way too big. If you needed to unfold the table it would be a big inconcenience. Otherwise it would be a great room. All in all a spectacular hotel. Just a few design flaws in my opinion. read more

The look of this hotel is shockingly beautiful for Youngstown. I love my Youngstown but damn they stepped up their game with this one. My only negative is there's no microwave in the rooms. You have to head to the second floor where they have a nice little commissary to pick up munchies and toiletries. It's no big deal BUT when your comfortable in your room you don't really feel like putting on shoes and and heading to another floor to heat up your belleria pizza from last night. We stayed there last night in a king room. Oddly laid out so actual floor space seemed small. Terrific bed, quiet. We had a late supper at the Bistro 1907 bar... the tables were full. Didn't matter. I had Pho, my friend had chicken; we both enjoyed our meals. Our room was right between the elevator and a staircase but there was no noise. Once we figured out how to close the giant curtains, we were spared the day-like glow of the parking lot light. Minor downsides were a bathroom without a fan (bummer) or overhead heater, no glasses anywhere, only one bedside table (?). Upside were excellent toiletries. Overall good value for $142. including tax. read more

This newly renovated hotel is architecturally crated with beautiful modern art and a comfortable style. The high ceilings make the rooms feel open and almost as if it gives more room to breath. All the drawers, cabinets, and doors close with satisfying ease. The workers were completely kind and helpful to my family. The modern design makes the room feel like a vacation on its own. Arrived to a line at check-in. Three workers standing around watching one do all the work. They were hammering just before 8am, luckily did not wake my daughter. We unfortunately got a corner room king. Extremely tiny, feels like a NYC size room. Requested a crib and got a pack-n-play not setup on the floor. I always enjoy learning how to setup a pack-n-play after a long trip. No clean sheet offered for my daughter to sleep on. *(Booked a second night through Hotel-tonight because of a very low price, received a double queen room. Extremely spacious and much nicer than the king room. The previous guest's dirty shower towel was still hanging in the bathroom! Our pack-n-play crib was also not setup and no sheet given for it again.)* I stay in 2 to 3 hotels a month on average and I've never seen a hotel not setup a pack-n-play or prepare a crib with a clean sheet. I wanted to add additional nights (my first night) to my reservation but make it so I didn't have to switch rooms. Checking in and out of rooms with an infant is not fun. The front desk attendant would not help in getting us in a room that we didn't have to check-out of and then check-in again the next day. He was more worried that the hotel not getting the full room rate on my reservation because I booked through a third party. Give me a break.. when you're making an hourly wage why are you worried about Hilton's profits? read more

We stayed for 2 nights, and at the last minute our flight got moved and the staff was so kind and allowed us early check in WAY before check in time. The room was amazing, clean, great view, well laid out, all great. Staff was super helpful and kind at all turns. The hotel itself is beautiful and very modern but vestiges of the past can be seen too, which I find very interesting. We went to breakfast 2 times and dinner once at the Bistro 1907 and were very happy overall. Most importantly for our stay, we had a party on the 12th floor and it was a hit, our guests were so impressed by the venue, staff friendliness, and the FOOD!!! We got SO MANY complements about the food at our party, so thanks Chef Marc and staff! Overall, we could not have enjoyed our stay more, and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in downtown Y-town! read more
